Tracker ended on a high note for CBS.
The Justin Hartley-led missing persons drama ended its Season 1 run on Sunday night, raking in 7.36M live + same-day viewers across linear and streaming, according to Paramount.
That’s up 5% from the week prior and up 3% versus the show’s post-Super Bowl audience average. The series kicked off in February with a larger-than-life premiere audience, thanks to a lead-in from the Chiefs-49ers game.
Paramount says live streaming across Paramount+ and CBS digital apps saw a boost as well. Tracker gained 77% on the broadcast finale that aired in this time period last year, which was East New York.
It’s no surprise that Tracker received an early Season 2 renewal back in March. Deadline spoke with Hartley about the dramatic conclusion, which he says will usher in a “bigger mystery” in Season 2.

CBS has found its first series renewal for the 2024-25 broadcast season.
The network has renewed Tracker, its Justin Hartley-led drama, for a second season. The series launched Feb. 11 in TV’s best time slot — after the Super Bowl — and now ranks as the No. 1 show, according to Nielsen’s most current data, with 16 million multiplatform viewers. The network says Tracker is its most watched new series since Big Bang Theory prequel Young Sheldon debuted in the 2017-18 season.
“Tracker kicked off our premiere week with a ratings bang and has kept the momentum going,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “We knew we had something special when we saw the very first cut of the series and the overwhelming audience response confirms it. The series premiere of “Tracker” reached an average 18.4 million viewers on CBS on Sunday.
Titled “Klamath Falls,” the episode hit this height thanks to massive lead-in from Super Bowl Lviii, which aired directly beforehand and became the most-watched telecast of all time, hitting an average viewership of 123.4 million people. “Tracker” retained at least 15% of the game’s audience.
It should be noted that the Super Bowl stat accounts for viewership across CBS, Paramount+, Nickelodeon, Univision, CBS Sports and NFL digital properties, while the “Tracker” figure refers only to CBS viewership and will soon increase when data becomes available regarding viewership on Paramount+, CBS.com and the CBS app.
“Tracker” wasn’t the only show to benefit from the Super Bowl’s success: “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” aired next and reached 3.7 million viewers, its best viewership since 2021, while “After Midnight” followed and hit a series high of 2 million viewers.

This is Us alum Justin Hartley plays a lone-wolf survivalist, Colter Shaw, seeking to solve mysteries in the trailer for CBS’ Tracker drama, which dropped on Friday.
“You collect rewards, right?” he’s asked at one point in the trailer. “I prefer the term ‘rewardist.’ Everyone’s looking for something,” Shaw answers as he makes his way through a forest.
CBS will use the Super Bowl, the biggest TV event of the season, as a plum promotional launch pad for Tracker on Feb. 11, as the drama starring Hartley will finally bow after it was picked up to series in December 2022.
As Shaw travels across the U.S. to resolve mysteries, at another point in the trailer he is seen giving first aid to a young woman injured while on a wilderness adventure. He takes the time to offer some advice: “How you survive is you make quick, smart decisions. You remain calm.

There will be no fourth season for Big Sky at ABC as the network has opted not to renew David E. Kelley’s drama series. It is unclear yet whether co-studio A+E Studios would seek a new home for the show starring Katheryn Winnick and Kylie Bunbury.
Big Sky, which had a straight-to-series order, was a breakout when it premiered in November 2020. It was one of the strongest broadcast series to launch during the pandemic-hit 2020-21 season and set a mini trend for a big-name actor (in this case Ryan Philippe) to be announced as a star of a series and be used heavily in the marketing campaign only to have their character shockingly die in the first episode.
Ratings for the heavily serialized Big Sky have significantly slipped since the high flying first season, with the drama among the lowest rated scripted series on ABC this season when the show aired 13 episodes vs.

Spoiler Alert: The following story contains details from the Season 2 premiere of ABC’s Big Sky.
A couple of major twists and compelling new mysteries presented themselves in Big Sky‘s Season 2 opener, which saw John Carroll Lynch return from beyond the TV grave. In an interview with Deadline, the SAG Award winner confirmed the identity of his new character and teased his storyline.
As the episode titled “Wakey, Wakey” opens, the primary antagonist of Season 1, sex trafficking trucker Ronald (Brian Geraghty), is on the lam. Private detective Jenny (Katheryn Winnick) is still recovering from the gunshot wound inflicted during his escape, and like her colleague Cassie (Kylie Bunbury), remains intent on taking him down. While Cassie distracts herself with work at Dewell & Hoyt, hoping for a clue that will bring her to Ronald, Cassie visits Sheriff Tubb (Patrick Gallagher) to inform him that she wants to rejoin the force.

Naturally, questions have arisen about its future, but the network confirmed whether it would be renewing the Kylie Bunbury-Katheryn Winnick-led drama.
So, what's the news?
It's coming back.
That's right. Big Sky Season 2 is a go.
The series follows two private investigators as they try to bring the bad guys to justice, even if the rest of the law lets them skate by.
Big Sky Season 1 has had some killer twists, including the deaths of Ryan Phillippe's Cody, Victoria Mahaffey's Helen, and John Carrol Lynch's Legarski.
The body count has continued to pile up as the season progressed, but Ronald has remained on the loose, and the new wicked family at the wheel...

The doors of Dewell and Hoyt Private Investigations will remain open for the foreseeable future: ABC has renewed Big Sky for Season 2, TVLine has learned.
The drama, in which Kylie Bunbury and Katheryn Winnick play Montana PIs, currently is more than halfway through its inaugural season. It has distinguished itself among broadcast dramas with its willingness to off major characters with little lead-up: Ryan Phillippe’s Cody was murdered with nearly no preamble in the series premiere, and Victoria Mahaffey’s Helen and John Carrol Lynch’s Legarski both met their ends — neither naturally — as the season progressed.
