We have arrived at the season finale of Bring Back Alice, and the truth is the show isn’t about bringing back Alicja but bringing back Weronica. On a figurative note, to “bring back Alice” can mean bringing back her memories that would lead to Weronica’s location. On a personal note, there was doubt in my mind over whether one episode would be enough to reveal a year’s worth of events. And I must say, I was partly disappointed because I was expecting more. However, I calmed myself down because what ensued in the one year that Alicja was missing made sense. Alicja’s flashes, other than bringing back all her special moments with Weronica, pointed towards something sinister that she and Weronica must have gone through. But Episode 6 reveals how it is often the way we perceive things that makes them look scarier than they actually are.

Episode 4 of Bring Back Alice ended with Michael digging in the woods. Alicja and Tomek have met Olivia, who we know has connections with Weronica’s disappearance. Michael has already provided Patryk’s name to the police as the one who deals drugs. Paula finds out from Tomek that it was Alicja who took his packet of pills. Alicja still has no idea what happened to Weronica, and all she has are vague flashes from the past. It is frustrating, both for her and for us. Let us see what Bring Back Alice Episode 5 has in store.
Spoilers Ahead
The Party
Alicja invites Monica, Paula, Tomek, Janek, Patryk, and Michael to a party the same night. But where? All that they know is the time, i.e., 10 p.m. Michael’s parents leave for work (probably for any occasion), after which he tells his brother that Weronica’s grave is empty [so this is why he was in the woods digging]. The question is,...

At the end of Episode 3 of Bring Back Alice, Michael is arrested for the possession of drugs that Alicja put in his locker. She then goes live with Tomek on her YouTube profile, asking people to help her find Weronica. There is also the mysterious woman with braided hair we see at the end of the episode. Bring Back Alice Episode 4 shows Alicja and Tomek inching toward the mystery behind Weronica’s disappearance while Michael struggles with his imminent prison time that he can avoid only after he gives the cops a name.
Spoilers Ahead
Deal Or No Deal?
Michael’s brother and father tell Michael that the only way for him to survive and not go to jail is if he gives the police the name of the person who put the pills in his locker. If he doesn’t do that, he will be serving five years in prison,...

Influencer Returns
There was a break-in at Janek’s house last night. The thief apparently stole the usual stuff, like money and some equipment. Janek’s mother, Milena, finds the cassettes of Alicja’s interview recordings missing. She informs the police. It might have been Alicja who stole the cassettes because she didn’t want anyone else to know what she was feeling. But we can’t tell for sure.
The same day, Alicja comes to school in her influencer avatar after more than a year. Her schoolmates: Patryk,...

At the end of Episode 1 of “Bring Back Alice,” we saw Alicja looking at a photo strip of her kissing someone who seemed to be Weronica. This proves that Weronica was with her on the night she disappeared. “Bring Back Alice” Episode 2 shows Alicja meeting all her friends together for the first time since she was found. But it’s not like it used to be. A year has passed, and they have all changed more than Alicja knows. How does Alicja cope with this? Let’s find out.

“Bring Back Alice” deals with the disappearance of popular social media influencer Alicja Stec. She is found a year later and she isn’t the same anymore. Alicja seems to have been through a lot of trauma that has changed her behavior. She doesn’t remember anything clearly and has only visions or flashes of memories that scare her. Her school friends, with whom she was partying the night she disappeared, know something about it but don’t discuss it. What did happen on that fateful night? Only “bringing back Alice” to her normal self can answer that.
Spoilers Ahead
The Return Of Alicja
Alicja Stec goes missing while partying with her friends at a secret illegal rave on some ship. She remains missing for a whole year, after which she is found walking down a tunnel in the middle of the night by people who recognize her from her streams.

Agnieszka Smoczynska‘s 2015 The Lure was quite the sensation, having made a splash at Sundance and having enjoyed a growing reputation in the years since. Smoczynska premiered her second film Fugue at Critics’ Week in Cannes, and while the reception has been equally strong, the film couldn’t be more different. At the Polish premiere at the Nowe Horyzonty Film Festival, I witnessed a sober, hyper-controlled look at a woman who disappears and is forced to go back to a family she doesn’t remember having.

Alicja suffers from memory loss and has rebuilt her own free spirited way of life. Two years later, she returns to her former family to assume against her will her role as wife, mother and daughter. Her estranged husband and son do not recognize this woman who looks familiar and yet behaves like a stranger. Feelings of alienation, love and revelations rekindle her interior flame. Agnieszka Smoczynska's Fugue, her follow-up to her breakout film Lure, has finally found its way to U.S. cinemas this month. After four long years Fugue will start out next Friday, March 10th in Los Angeles and end the month in New York on the 31st. No word from its distributor Dekanalog if they plan to expand to other...

"Is it a second home, or One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest!?" Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a quirky, fun new crime comedy mini-series titled The Green Glove Gang, from Polish filmmaker Tadeusz Śliwa. One of many new projects made in Poland for Netflix as one of their local content offerings. When their latest heist goes wrong, three older female burglars evade officials by hiding out in a nursing home — where they uncover a sinister secret. These three noble thieves – Zuza, Kinga and Alicja – continuing their conniving ways at the nursing home, giving its elderly residents a chance for a second youth. The series stars Magdalena Kuta, Małgorzata Potocka, & Anna Romantowska, with Beata Bandurska, Karolina Rzepa, Mirosław Zbrojewicz, Andrzej Grabowski. I was sold from the title, but this looks like some kooky & mischievous fun! Seems like something that could break out and find audiences outside of Poland. ›››
