Abby Epstein is a theater and film director known for her documentaries The Business of Being Born, Weed the People and The Business of Birth Control. Other films include V-Day: Until the Violence Stops and More Business of Being Born Series. Her stage directing credits include RENT, (Bway Tour, Mexico, Spain) and The Vagina Monologues (National Tour, Mexico)
She was awarded the 1994 Joseph Jefferson Award Citation for Director of a play for "Lion in the Streets", at the Roadworks Productions Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.
Directed Jessica Goldberg's play "Stuck" for Rattlestick Theater.
Directed the live comedy show "Platonically Incorrect" featuring Sean Hayes, Darlene Hunt and Steve Shenbaum.
Was the recipient of a Broadway League Award for her direction of "The Vagina Monologues" National Tour.
In 1995 she was featured in Swing Magazine's "The 30 most Influential 20-Somethings in America".
