- In the late 1950's and early 1960's Wayne's Father Herbert - known as Bill to most people, was the chauffeur to Norman Loudon the founder of Shepperton Studios.
- Wayne's parents met for the first time in 1934, At the location of a film being made at Shepperton Studios. The Film called 'Sanders by the River', was set in Africa and the local children went down to the river behind the studios to watch the film being made.
- Wayne's paternal grandfather William, lived in Walton on Thames, which was also the home town of Cecil Hepworth ( probably the founder of the British film industry). William was used as an 'extra' in 1918 in a fight scene in one of Cecil Hepworths Films.
