The Academy Awards ceremony considered actor Amy Adams a potential candidate for an Oscar ever since her breakthrough role in Junebug. But Adams lost her first opportunity to take home the prize to Rachel Weisz.
It was a loss Adams was more than happy to accept in hindsight.

Adams has never been the type of celebrity to concern herself too much with dieting and maintaining a perfect body. Although some celebrities obsess over such issues, Adams admired the kinds of stars who didn’t focus on those traits.
“Some of these actresses or public personas who are very public about their disciplined diets, more power to them. I just don’t see the point. Do you know, the people I love as actresses, I’ve never, ever sought out pictures of them to see what they look like in a swimsuit,” Adams...

Maya Rudolph has revealed she once made a “risky” assumption after meeting Amy Adams.
The Hollywood stars appear in Disney sequel Disenchanted, and appeared on a chat show to promote the new film on Tuesday (15 November).
Rudolph said that they first met at a birthday party in 2009 when she was “severely pregnant”, and remembered telling Adams she thought she was pregnant, also.
“I do remember I told Amy I thought she was pregnant – not in a way of like, ‘You’re pregnant,’ but in a, ‘I can tell that you’re prgenant’ way,” she said. Fortunately for Rudolph, she was.
“It was very witchy,” Adams said, adding: “I was actually very moved by it. I had told immediate family but I hadn’t told an extended group of people. I wanted to touch her and get all her wisdom.”

“Sam & Kate” is a family affair, which is essentially the entire conceit for the film’s existence. Dustin Hoffman and Sissy Spacek play Bill and Tina, while Jake Hoffman and Schuyler Fisk (Spacek’s daughter with production designer Jack Fisk) play their respective kids, Sam and Kate. It’s the story of young adults and their challenging relationships with their quirky aging parents, fumbling toward a kind of grace in spite of their pasts.
The appeal of the film is its gimmick: watching two legendary actors who defined New Hollywood in the 1970s playing parents to their own children and the unique chemistry that comes from that. It also helps that the kids look a lot like their parents.
But Hoffman and Fisk aren’t carbon copies of their parents, and neither have their careers. Both have been acting since childhood, but Hoffman has gone the indie route, having directed the feature “Asthma,...

Amy Adams has been nominated for hundreds of awards during her career, and though she's the proud owner of two Golden Globes and a clutch of Critics' Choice Awards (among many others), people are beginning to notice how often she walks away empty-handed from big award shows. At the SAG Awards on Sunday night, Amy was up for two awards, for her performances in Vice and Sharp Objects, but once again, she was pipped to the post. They marked her ninth and 10th nominations, and though she does have one SAG Award, for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture for American Hustle, many believe she should have more.
However, though she may not have been victorious, Amy definitely made the most of the night. From the moment she arrived, looking totally loved-up with her husband, Darren Le Gallo, she completely stole the show, and that was before...

I'm like, smiling so big," she said after Darren said he usually likes to stay in the back. The two parents opened the interview with a shoutout to their eight year-old daughter Aviana, and didn't really care if she would appreciate it or not. "Hopefully she's excited and not embarrassed, but I like embarrassing her, so..." Adams said. Adams starred...

How funny! In a new interview, Amy Adams hilariously admitted that she has a serious problem with butt dialing her celebrity friends. While chatting with Seth Meyers on Late Night With Seth Meyers earlier this week, Amy publicly apologized to anyone that she's accidentally called over the years and confessed that actress Christina Applegate is at the top of her accidental call list. "I have fat cheeks," Amy, 43, shared. "And I keep accidentally calling her when I smile during other phone calls. And then I don't say anything and hang up, which is really rude." Amy then told Seth that it might be hard for Christina to forgive her because she's mistakenly called her around 300 times within two months! (Photo Credit: Getty Images) The Sharp Objects star also took the time to publicly apologize to another big star who might have once received a weird phone call from her. "I...

Amy Adams looked stunning when she attended the red carpet premiere for her new movie, Nocturnal Animals, at the Venice Film Festival in Italy on Friday. But while her one-shoulder gold sequined gown was to die for, it was her very special red carpet date that really stole the show. While Amy stepped out with costar Jake Gyllenhaal at their film's photocall earlier in the day, she made sure to bring her husband, Darren Le Gallo, as her date for the big night. The two ignored the flashing camera lights on the carpet and instead focused only on each other, kissing and adorably laughing the whole time. The parents of daughter Aviana are still in the honeymoon phase. After meeting in 2001, they made things official when they tied the knot in May 2015.
