Heiko Müller began his work in the film business in the early 1990s.
After completing his degree as an audio engineer, he worked on
multimedia and commercial projects at first, but soon his interest in
sound on film lead him to the field of audio post production. After
gaining experience in ADR and foley recording/editing he took the next
step and became re-recording mixer and chief sound engineer at a post
production facility in Frankfurt/Main. There he worked on various
projects, among which were such well-known as "Star Wars Trilogy
Special Edition", "Alien Resurrection" and "Independence Day". He was
also responsible for the localisations of the pan-European advertising
campaigns of "Star Wars Episode 1" and "Titanic". In 2000 he was asked
to become head of the sound department of director/producer Michael
Bully Herbig's company 'herbX film' (which since 2001 actually had been
called 'herbX studios'). He accepted the offer and started focusing on
sound design and mixing for major German films for TV and the silver
screen. The first project at herbX was
Manitou's Shoe (2001),
which was supposed to become the most successful German movie of all
time... Since 2007 Heiko Müller is CEO and co-owner of Wavefront
Studios GmbH, Munich, which is a full-service post production facility
that covers all key areas of filmsound and specializes in national and
international feature films.
