- Directed the music video for "Only A Fool", by The Black Crowes.
- Hosted a four-hour program on MTV called Al TV (1988) since 1985 and has hosted three two-hour programs on the Canadian music channel MuchMusic called "AlMusic". In both he plays videos, both his own and slightly altered videos of others', acts odd, creates horrific sandwiches, brings out his pal "Harvey The Wonder Hamster" and performs. He has also appeared on Wheel of Fortune (1983) and in the video for "Red Planet", a game at Virtualworld. Al also made a direct-to-video mockumentary in 1985 called The Compleat Al (1985).

- He directed the opening sequence to Hanson's video "The River". The sequence was a spoof on the movie Titanic (1997) with actress Gloria Stuart reprising her role, with a twist, and Al portraying Brock Lovett, the head of the Titanic searching mission.
