The coming-of-age film American Pie was one of the surprise hit movies of the 1999 film season. Fans quickly became invested in a group of high school friends and their families in the Jason Biggs, Eugene Levy, and Jennifer Coolidge-led big-screen success. Two years later, American Pie 2 revisited the friend group, now college students. However, when the third sequel, American Wedding, was filmed in 2003, many cast favorites were missing. Why was that so?
Why were so many of ‘American Pie’s’ original cast members not a part of ‘American Wedding?’
In 2003, producers of the American Pie film franchise orchestrated the wedding of Jim Levenstein (Jason Biggs) and Michelle Flaherty (Alyson Hannigan) as the centerpiece of American Wedding. The movie intended to bring together the cast of the first two installments as a love letter for the characters and film fans who supported the franchise since 1999.

American Pie is one of those cult classic movies that anyone who grew up in the 1990s has probably seen — many times. It was known for its humor and certainly catered to a more adult audience, but it was loaded with characters that nobody could ever forget.
While it’s been nearly 25 years since the movie was released, some of the actors have remained household names. Where is the American Pie cast today?

Jason Biggs was the film’s main star, and he went on to act in movies far beyond American Pie. There have been plenty of film sequels, and he starred in the first four movies, up until 2012. He appeared in films including Eight Below and My Best Friend’s Girl, the latter of which is where he met his now-wife, Jenny Mollen. Today, Biggs is worth about $20 million,...

Seann William Scott is the latest actor speaking out about their small paycheck in light of the actor’s strike.
The “American Pie” star — who played the iconic role of Stifler — says he went from starring in the 1999 hit to working as the churro guy at the LA zoo after he was only paid $8,000 for the entire movie.
Scott made the shocking claim while appearing on the “Rick Eisen Show”. The two played a game of truth or dare when he was asked if it was true that “American Pie” was his first feature-length film and whether he was only paid the four-figure number.
“I think so, yeah, because I remember afterwards I bought a used Thunderbird for like $5,000 or maybe $6,000, I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, baby’,” he said. “I don’t know what happened to the other $2,000 because I ended up having to work at the LA Zoo as a churro guy,...

Jennifer Coolidge is revealing her past roommate. In an interview with British GQ, the 61-year-old actress shares that she platonically lived with Eddie Kaye Thomas, her “American Pie” love interest, for a year or two in the early aughts.
“I wasn’t the love of his life,” Coolidge explains with a laugh. “He had girlfriends. My bedroom was across the hallway from his.”
Coolidge starred in “American Pie” as Stifler’s mom in the 1999 flick and its follow-up films. In an interview with Variety last year, Coolidge revealed that playing the Milf came with quite the benefits.
“I got a lot of play of being a Milf and I got a lot of sexual action from ‘American Pie’,” she said at the time. “There were so many benefits to doing that movie. I mean there would be, like, 200 people that I would have never slept with.”

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were one of the defining power couples of the 2000s. The reasons weren’t all positive, however. Holmes was distressingly quiet about her situation while married to the Top Gun star. Eventually, she had a dramatic split with both Cruise, and the clutches of the notoriously possessive Scientology leadership. While not all the details are public knowledge, there are a few shocking details out there about how Holmes got away from Scientology and her superstar ex-husband.

Handsome Man will finally get a name in "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" season five. As reported by TVLine, Milo Ventimiglia is returning to "Mrs. Maisel" for the final season - and this time he might actually get to say more than one sentence. The news comes after the "This Is Us" star's much-hyped season four guest appearance turned out to be a mostly nonspeaking part.
In season four, Ventimiglia played a character simply known as Handsome Man, who has an intense flirtation with Midge (Rachel Brosnahan). However, when the two spontaneously hook up, his character's wife walks in on them. This prompts Midge to make a hasty exit sans her lucky dress. The small role reunited Ventimiglia with "Gilmore Girls" and "Mrs. Maisel" executive producers Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, but it also left fans wanting more.

The American Pie stars reunite with former co-star Jason Biggs on Thursday’s episode of Outmatched (Fox, 8:30/7:30c), and TVLine has an exclusive first look at their, ahem, American Reunion.
Hannigan and Thomas play Beth and Sigmund, a couple that the Bennetts attempt to befriend — with alcohol, naturally — in the clip above. “Sorry if we’re being weird,” Kay tells Beth and Sigmund after she and Mike lure them into their basement. “We’re just out of practice making friends.

Fox’s Outmatched is serving up some American Pie: The freshman comedy, which stars Jason Biggs, will host a mini-reunion of the seminal movie when Alyson Hannigan and Eddie Kaye Thomas appear on the series, EW.com reports.
Outmatched features Biggs and Maggie Lawson as Mike and Kay, the parents of four children, three of whom are geniuses. Hannigan and Kaye Thomas will play the helicopter parents of another gifted child, whom Mike and Kay becomes friends with — until their kids decide Mike and Kay are a bad influence on the other couple. The episode is slated to air in March.

Get ready, folks, because we’re diving into some fresh-out-the-oven news regarding one of the most-remembered teen sex comedies of the pre-Bush era: American Pie. You know, the smash hit that defined, in broad strokes, how comedy films would present themselves for a good half-decade or more?
It turns out that the lead and the false love interest from that movie are, per a recent red carpet interview, more than open to another slice of that particular pie. Stumping for the debut of Jay and Silent Bob Reboot at the Tcl Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, Jason Biggs and Shannon Elizabeth, who both reprise their roles in the film, were asked on the red carpet about their interest in rebooting the American Pie series, and the two actors appeared excited at the prospect, with Jason Biggs stating:
I am always down. You will never hear from me any reluctance, but...

It’s been 20 years since American Pie was released in theaters back in 1999. To celebrate the occasion, Entertainment Tonight brought the original cast of the film together to talk about the film and reminisce on the time they shot the film.
Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Natasha Lyonne and Eddie Kaye Thomas all showed up for the reunion and it’s fun to see them all together again to talk about the teen sex comedy. For some reason Thomas Ian Nicholas didn’t show up, but you still get to watch the cast tell some fun stories.
I actually really enjoyed America Pie, the characters that filled it, and the crazy situations that they found themselves in.

The signpost ahead reads “The Twilight Zone,” ushering viewers to a realm that at once feels familiar and yet is almost entirely new. Executive producers Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg have reimagined Rod Serling’s classic horror/science-fiction/fantasy series from the ‘60s for a whole new generation.
At an event in Hollywood this year, Kinberg revealed why it was the perfect time to bring back the show. “I think the world all of a sudden was in desperate need of ‘The Twilight Zone,’” he said. ‘If you said three, four years ago that like a reality star who had no political experience will be the leader of the free world with access to the nuclear button, you think that’s a crazy ‘Twilight Zone’ episode.”
Kinberg also said that the vision Peele and CBS All Access had meshed with how to tell stories while pushing it to the limits.

Beware, Scorpion fans, this is gonna sting: CBS has cancelled the geek-driven drama after four seasons, TVLine has learned. The series — which closed out Season 4 last month with 5.1 million total viewers and an all-time low 0.7 rating — was conspicuously missing from the network’s renewal spree three weeks ago (which promoted us to downgrade the series’ prospects from “safe bet” to could go either way).”

CBS has made the call on Monday drama Scorpion, opting not to renew the high-octane drama for a fifth season.
After a high-flying start as a breakout hit when it first launched in the Monday 9 Pm slot, Scorpion found itself heavily on the bubble for return for the second year in a row. It has struggled in the Monday 10 Pm time period, and is one of the least watched CBS scripted series currently on the air in Live+same day.
CBS had been expected to do some major cleanup on Mondays where it’s seen its ratings fortunes falter. Scorpion is the first official cancellation on the night, it likely won’t be the last.
Remaining on the bubble are two other CBS drama series, Code Black and Elementary. It is unclear whether the network will impose formal cancellation on Wisdom of the Crowd which is presumed dead.

"I'm doing the best I can with this stupid list!" Gravitas Ventures has debuted an official trailer for indie romantic comedy Alex & The List, made by director Harris Goldberg. This looks like a painfully awkward, somewhat amusing, kitschy indie romantic comedy film that looks like a fun performance piece for the cast. Jennifer Morrison co-stars with Patrick Fugit as a couple seemingly doing well. But one day, Katherine presents a list of "improvements" to make him better; at first he rejects but then concedes as he embarks on a journey through love. The full cast includes Karen Gillan, Julie Gonzalo, Eddie Kaye Thomas, and JoBeth Williams. This seems like it could be fun, but still very cheesy, as expected for these kind of films. Weddings bring out the romantic in all of us -- and that sure was the case on Scorpion.
On Monday’s episode, titled “Something Burrowed, Something Blew,” Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) and Happy (Jadyn Wong) tied the knot in the most romantic of settings: a makeshift wedding venue in the middle of a parking lot. But it wasn’t just Toby and Happy’s nuptials that were worthy of celebration.
