- Patrick Süskind was born on March 26, 1949 in Ambach, Bavaria, Germany. He is a writer and actor, known for Kir Royal (1986), Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006) and Rossini (1997).
- Has refused to give any interviews for over twenty years, and only three published photos of him exist.
- His novel, "Perfume," inspired Kurt Cobain to write the Nirvana song "Scentless Apprentice."
- Studied Medieval and Modern History at the University of Munich and Aix-en-Provence between 1968 and 1974.
- As he wrote the script for the movie Rossini (1997) together with producer Bernd Eichinger, the character of the shy author "Jakob Windisch" is probably based on him.
