Exclusive: We hear that Lionsgate has closed motion picture rights to produce a hybrid live-action movie based on Ubisoft’s Rabbids video game franchise. Mandeville Films’ Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman, who were behind such mega hits as Beauty and the Beast and Wonder are producing with Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The studio and producers are in advanced talks with Isn’t It Romantic‘s Todd Strauss-Schulson to direct. Alex Young from Mandeville will serve as an executive producer.
The Rabbids video games has sold more than 15M units to date and the animated television show airs in more than 110 countries. Rabbids are wild rabbit-like creatures who like to cause havoc and mischief, speak gibberish and yell “Bwah!” whenever they experience adrenaline rushes. They were initially introduced as antagonists in the mid ’90s video game franchise Rayman before going on to have a successful spinoff life of their own.

Robot Chicken’s 10th season is upon us, and the show’s latest stop-motion skits will include a super-powerful robo Mr. Rogers.
It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood. A beautiful day for a cyborg Mr. Rogers equipped with both kindness and immeasurable strength.
Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken never fails to surprise us with its various permutations of pop-culture and Murphy’s law. Could reviving Mr. Rogers in the fashion of The Six Million Dollar Man go horribly wrong? Ahead of the show’s Season 10 premiere, we’ve got an exclusive clip where you can find out for yourself:
Robot Chicken’s 10th season is a milestone for Adult Swim’s hit show, not for celebrating the 200th episode of the Emmy Award winning show, but for attempting top-secret new formats that break new ground in animated sketch comedy.

Last December, IndieWire witnessed something that doesn’t happen all that often these days: The recording of an audio commentary track for an episode of television. In the “Robot Chicken” offices in Los Angeles, CA, I sat in a recording booth and watched Seth Green, Matt Senreich, and and director Tom Sheppard make fun of “The Robot Chicken Walking Dead Special: Look Who’s Walking” — alongside “The Walking Dead” executive producers Scott Gimple and Robert Kirkman, whose show was being parodied on the screen in front of them.
It was parody on top of parody, though as Senreich told IndieWire later in a phone interview, “I always say ‘Robot Chicken’ doesn’t make fun of things, it has fun with things… it just feels like a bunch of friends hanging out having a good time.” He paused. “I know that sounds really cheesy to say.”
But that tone permeated the recording session,...

Over the years, Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken series has lovingly paid tribute to hundreds of pop culture icons and projects, but this October, they're celebrating AMC’s The Walking Dead with an entire special episode devoted to Rick and his cohorts in honor of the show’s success and its legions of fans who remain devoted to the series after seven seasons.
At a recent press day, Daily Dead had the opportunity to speak with several members of the Robot Chicken family, including Seth Green, Breckin Meyer, Matthew Senreich, Tom Sheppard, as well as the incomparable Michael Rooker, whose character, Merle, makes a memorable appearance in the special (and sings us a little ditty about looking for love in a post-apocalyptic world). During the discussion, they chatted about being able to work with Robert Kirkman, Scott Gimple and The Walking Dead cast, how supportive AMC was to their idea...

This Halloween, The League of Freedom will face their fears on Crackle in an all-new original special, “Supermansion: Drag Me To Halloween.” A nod to Sam Raimi’s “Drag Me To Hell,” fans can only guess at what the horror film’s influence will make on the comedy.
The epic two-season stop-motion animated series documents the ill-adventures of misfit superhero team The League of Freedom: In “Drag Me To Halloween,” Titanium Rex (voice of Bryan Cranston) wrestles with his distaste for the holiday as the gang grapples with seductive ghosts, angry demons, and evil dentists. No strangers to devious antics, the league looks well at home in the official teaser.
Series regulars Tucker Gilmore (voice of Black Saturn), Zeb Wells (voice of Robobot) and Heidi Gardner (voice of Cooch) party with special guests Lake Bell and Phil Lamarr in the spooky feature. The fast-paced, Millennial-driven half-hour is known for its talented voice actors,...

From Assassin’s Creed to The Witcher, via Mass Effect, Minecraft and maybe more Warcraft...
Latest update: Uncharted delayed.
In the years since Den Of Geek first sprung into existence, we’ve consistently kept an eye on the videogames that have been touted for the big screen treatment. We’ve tried to list them all in a big article a few times before, and it feels like the time has come to pull a new version together.
If we haven’t heard anything about a certain videogame movie in two years or more, it seems safe to assume that it’s quietly been binned. That’s why you won’t find the likes of BioShock, Devil May Cry, Far Cry, Gears Of War, Halo, Heavy Rain and Rollercoaster Tycoon on this list. If we get proven wrong on any of those, we’ll update this article as more information comes to light.

Alice Cooper has always been a bit of a cartoon character. Hell, without him there would be no Kiss, Marylin Manson, Rob Zombie, visual kei, or any number of crazy media characters inspired by Cooper’s shock-rock aesthetic. Now, new indie comics group Dark Matter Publishing has decided that Alice Cooper deserves “Masterpiece Theatre”-type company—the likes of Uncle Creepy, Cousin Eerie, and the Crypt Keeper—as his own host of supernatural stories in the proposed anthology series Uncle Alice Presents.
Dark Matter Publisher Tom Sheppard (Pinky And The Brain, The Annoying Orange) and former Dark Horse president Todd Moyer are in charge of the project, which they hope to make into a television series as well as a twelve-issue comic. “Look, we all love anthology series like Tales From The Crypt, The Twilight Zone, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents, but wouldn’t we love them a lot more if...

Jobs go as as contemporary work wrapped into main Royal Opera House programming and Manchester comedy festival closes
House foreclosure
It was revealed that the curtain is coming down on ROH2 in London, responsible for the Royal Opera House's contemporary opera and dance programme for the past decade. Instead, Covent Garden says that its more modern work will be incorporated into the mainstream programming of the Royal Opera and Royal Ballet. The Roh insists that the changes – which include two redundancies – are not a result of a 15% arts council funding cut implemented earlier this year.
That joke isn't funny any more
Manchester comedy festival, on the other hand, has certainly suffered at the hand of government cuts. The event has been scrapped this year after losing financial support from its city council. The festival was set up 10 years ago by Comedy Store founder Don Ward, who said: "With a clean sweep,...

The news of a TV series based on one of YouTube’s most popular series, The Annoying Orange, has been out there for over a year. But today came word just where that show is going to live, as Cartoon Network picked up creator Dane Boedigheimer’s six-episode longer form animated version. Management company and production house The Collective partnered with Boedigheimer to produce six episodes of The Annoying Orange animated TV comedy series. The episodes come complete with A-list cartoon talent, including Tom Sheppard (Pinky and the Brain) handling writing responsibilities, Conrad Vernon (co-director of Monsters and Aliens, Shrek 2) executive producing, and Malcom McDowell lending his voice to one of the characters. Release date is not yet set, though sometime in the first half of next year is what we are hearing. The online version will continue on their YouTube channel, with its 2.2 million subscribers still a very fertile platform for the franchise.

Orange, along with his band of buddies, including Pear, Passion Fruit, Apple, Marshmallow and his nemesis Grapefruit, will travel through time in a magical fruit cart. The TV series was developed and will be produced by The Collective, which financed the pilot before shopping it to networks. Conrad Vernon (Madagascar 3) will executive produce with Gary Binkow and Dan Weinstein. “The Annoying Orange and Cartoon Network were just meant to be squeezed together,” said the network...

As soon as we thought we could predict the outcome of the Oscars, here comes another surprise! This one's brought to you by the Writers Guild of America. Picked for Best Original Screenplay was Christopher Nolan's "Inception." The director, famously dissed for not getting a Best Director Oscar nomination, may just win the Best Original Screenplay come Oscar night. Oscar front-runner, "The King's Speech" was not nominated because it didn't quality under union rules which prompted Nolan to say during his WGA acceptance award that he looked forward to a time when he could accept the award "without qualification."
That could be the beginning of a great script Mr. Nolan, go write it :happy
For adapted screenplay, I'm happy to report that Aaron Sorkin's fantastic script won! Based on "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich, "The Social Network" was the only film last year that I predicted to win this very category.
