When you’re deep in the process of creating something, it can be hard to tell if what you’re making is good. The final results don’t always match the effort and enthusiasm that went into the production. When Colin Farrell was shooting Alexander with notable director Oliver Stone, he was convinced that the movie would be a huge hit that moviegoers would love.
But the movie ended up being a critical and commercial flop — one of many box office bombs that sent Farrell into a tailspin. He rebounded from a difficult time in his career to star in several excellent films in the past few years.
War-adventure film ‘Alexander’ was an expensive failure starring Angelina Jolie and Colin Farrell

By 1965, Andy Warhol had already revolutionized the art world with his depictions of soup cans, Marilyn Monroe, and Brillo boxes. His interests grew to include rock & roll — he started managing the Velvet Underground and eventually produced their debut, The Velvet Underground & Nico — and he began making even more films, which starred members of his retinue including Edie Sedgwick, Gerard Malanga, and Mary Woronov, among others. Seeing how he fascinated the world, Life magazine hired photojournalist Steve Schapiro to document Warhol’s cultural ascension. Ultimately, the magazine never published the story.

How can 35 years pass before a photographer's voluminous archive of pictures and other historic data from one of the greatest American films ever made finds its way to the public? Why were you holding out on us, Steve Schapiro? And why does your damn Taxi Driver compendium -- featuring vintage snapshots and recollections of Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, Jodie Foster and the rest on the set -- gotta have me robbing houses and turning tricks just to have its expensive hide under the tree by Christmas?...
