The story of the British-Australian duo Air Supply will be made into a biopic currently slated for release in 2025.
Titled All Out of Love: The Air Supply Story, the biopic will track the origins and subsequent rise of Air Supply. The duo, comprised of singers and songwriters Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, initially met during a production of Jesus Christ Superstar, and teamed up to write and record soft-rock jams in Australia. Eventually, they found global success in the late ’70s and early ’80s. The film’s title gets its name from the duo’s iconic 1980 single, “All Out of Love.”
“The film explores the highs and lows of the band’s career and their rise to international fame,” reads the official logline for All Out of Love. “The story follows the two founding members of Air Supply, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, as they navigate the challenges of pursuing...

Air Supply may be the latest chart-topping musical act to get the big screen treatment.
Altit Media Group said it plans to make biopic about the band that will, in a nod to one of the group’s biggest hits, be entitled, “All Out of Love: The Air Supply Story.” The film will be released in summer 2025 to celebrate Air Supply’s 50th anniversary. Filming is set to take place in Australia and the U.K. during the fourth quarter of 2024.
Air Supply found success with a series of romantic ballads. Their hits include “Here I Am,” “Lost in Love,” “The One That You Love”, “All Out of Love”, “Every Woman in the World” and “Even the Nights Are Better.” The group scored seven Top 5 singles in a row, tying the Beatles’ consecutive run, and went on to sell more than 100 million albums worldwide while playing over 5,000 shows. Forget the pleasantries, today sucks. Paul Reubens, best known for his incomparable work as Pee-wee Herman, has passed away. The weird, wacky, and wonderful comedy figure is one of the most influential creatives ever to do it, and left in his wake is an irreplaceable void of silly, absurdist joy. Reubens' created the character of Pee-wee Herman while performing with The Groundlings, the legendary improvisational comedy troupe boasting alumni like Laraine Newman, Pat Morita, Craig T. Nelson, Jon Lovitz, Adrienne Barbeau, Conan O'Brien, Phil Hartman, Phil Lamarr, Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Coolidge, Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Melissa McCarthy, Will Forte, Annie Mumolo, Kaitlin Olson, Edi Patterson, Tony Cavalero, and a ridiculous number of other eventual "Saturday Night Live" players.
Pee-wee Herman was an immediate hit and led to Reubens writing, producing, directing, and starring in "The Pee-wee Herman Show." He quickly became a household name, and the Pee-wee character would get another show,...

Adapting “Death Note” into a feature-length American movie was always a colossally bad idea — Tsugumi Ohba’s manga ran 108 chapters, and there’s a good reason why the only decent riff on the original was an anime series that ran 19 hours — so neglecting to include Japanese-American actors among the top-billed cast just made things that much worse. It was a bad decision on top of a festering pile of bad decisions, but it was also the kind of mistake that reveals the wrongheadedness of an entire project.

In the early '80s, MTV hadn't begun airing black artists in regular video rotation. Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" and subsequent Thriller videos helped to change that, but in 1983 it was a pretty steady stream of Pat Benatar, Air Supply, Juice Newton, and the like. During an on-air interview with original VJ Mark Goodman, the legendary David Bowie -- who passed away at age 69 after a battle with cancer -- wondered aloud why the network's preferences were so blatantly white. "David Bowie: “Why are there practically no blacks on the network?” Mark Goodman: “We seem to be doing music that fits into what we want to play on MTV. The company is thinking in terms of narrowcasting.” David Bowie: “There seem to be a lot of black artists making very good videos that I’m surprised aren’t being used on MTV.” Mark Goodman: “We...

Ghosts, ghouls, vampires, demons—they've been frightening kids for centuries, and with good reason. But children's brains are strange, malleable places that can perceive even the most unassuming figures—a cute, helpful Jedi Grand Master, a cuddly elephantine creature, a precocious baby dinosaur—as sinister agents of terror. Which brings us to today's Halloween-inspired PopWatch Confessional: What's the unintentionally scary thing that frightened you most when you were a kid? (Bonus: Reading through is a great way to stealthily learn how old we all are.) Ashley Fetters, online news editor: I was about eight when I saw the original...

The Rover
Directed by: David Michod
Cast: Guy Pearce, Robert Pattinson, Scoot McNairy
Running Time: 1 hr 35 mins
Rating: R
Release Date: June 23, 2014 (Chicago)
Plot: Ten years after a global economic collapse, a loner (Pearce) looks for his stolen car with the help of an abandoned American (Pattinson).
Who’S It For? Viewers who like their thriller spaced out, with ebbs of intensity. On a smaller scale, this movie is also for anyone who has not yet confirmed Pattinson’s acting abilities.
Overall
There is a profound interest in impulse within the work of Australian filmmaker David Michod, whose number of features finally reaches two with his anticipated followup to Animal Kingdom, The Rover. Even his co-writing work for Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s life-crasher movie Hesher is indicative of a storytelling force jazzed by that which is abrupt and unexplainable, and without worry of how polarizing these weirdo choices may be. It’s No Respect Week here at Vulture, and in honor of this semi-august occasion, I’m taking my DeLorean Gif back to the week of January 28, 1984, the week Rodney Dangerfield hit his chart peak with the timeless single “Rappin’ Rodney” and its apropos "no respect" chorus. Join me for this installment of Somewhere in Time as I breeze through that week’s top 100 singles and tell you whether they get the respect they deserve or whether we need to do penance for 30 years of underrespecting. The Grammys! They’re this coming Sunday and I almost forgot! To celebrate, here are all 55 winners of the Record of the Year Grammy ranked for your consideration. Now beat it.
55. “Don’t Worry Be Happy,” Bobby McFerrin
Finger-snapping never sounded so un-snappy.
54. “Rosanna,” Toto
You know, a Grammy windfall was bound to happen one of those exactly 1982 bands (Air Supply, Foreigner, Reo Speedwagon, etc), and Toto was the big winner. “Rosanna” is fun, but Grammy-worthy?
53. “Sunny Came Home,” Shawn Colvin
You know, a Grammy windfall was bound to happen to one of those exactly 1998 female singer-songwriters (Meredith Brooks, Natalie Imbruglia, Paula Cole, etc.), and Shawn Colvin was the big winner. “Sunny Came Home” is contemplative, but Grammy-worthy?
52. “Change the World,” Eric Clapton
Sort of annoying when a legendary artist wins for his most palatable and forgettable material. “Change the World” is merely radio-friendly, not an artistic breakthrough.

I did say that I wanted to give Pompeii a chance. I did. I stand by that statement. However, the first poster for the film makes me feel like it needs a power ballad. I don't care which band sings it. Okay, I'd prefer a group from the early 80s or 90s. Maybe Air Supply. I feel like there's a real hit song here. I'd write the lyrics but you'd only make fun of how terrible they are though that's the point. The poster isn't bad but the circumstance is laughable within the context. It's overly...

Every year, we here at Sound On Sight celebrate the month of October with 31 Days of Horror; and every year, I update the list of my favourite horror films ever made. Last year, I released a list that included 150 picks. This year, I’ll be upgrading the list, making minor alterations, changing the rankings, adding new entries, and possibly removing a few titles. I’ve also decided to publish each post backwards this time for one reason: the new additions appear lower on my list, whereas my top 50 haven’t changed much, except for maybe in ranking. I am including documentaries, short films and mini series, only as special mentions – along with a few features that can qualify as horror, but barely do.

Max had made the decision that April morning to close up the bookshop and go away for once and for all, but he hadn’t told anyone yet, and he needed somebody to take the cat, so it was a good thing Jeffrey showed up an hour before closing.
“I think Carmilla wants to go home with you,” Max said, watching Jeffrey roam, as always, through the military books. Jeffrey didn’t reply. He took a tattered Shooter’s Bible off the top shelf and held it up.

Add John Barrowman to the list of people who have raced to the altar following the Supreme Court's decision last week to legalize gay marriage in the state of California. The Arrow actor, 46, married Scott Gill on Tuesday. The couple, who have been together for 20 years, had been in a civil partnership since 2006. "We're on our way to get married," a jolly Barrowman said in a video he posted Tuesday on his WhoSay account, with Gill in the passenger seat. It's actually been a little while since we've had a good comedy at the multiplex (sorry "The Hangover Part III"), but Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy are hoping to provide some laughs in a few weeks with "The Heat." The concept is simple and promising: the pair play mismatched Boston cops, and hell, we're still not sure what the actual plot is, not that it matters. But until we can weigh in on the movie, it looks like it'll be bringing an interesting batch of tunes to the table. The soundtrack details have dropped for the flick and it varies between bangers and FM classics. In the former category LCD Soundsystem, Santigold, Angel Haze and that ever present "212" by Azealia Banks will test the bass speakers in your local theater, while your Dad will probably dig the selections of Ted Nugent, Boston, Air Supply and April Wine. Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe has heard our pleas for spankin’ new theme weeks on American Idol, but when the Top 10 take the stage Wednesday night (8/7 c, on Fox) the results could be beautiful or they could be disastrous.
You see, “Music of the American Idols” is a two-pronged beast, encompassing the songs previous Idol winners covered during their respective seasons, and also the songs that these champs have released in their post-show careers.
The key for the Season 12 Top 10 will be choosing songs that fit their voices — but not trying to recreate iconic Idol moments that they’ll never be able to match.

Maybe it’s because I saw Barry Manilow on Broadway last night (highly recommended), but my Valentine’s Day morning commute was all about the love songs. Now, I don’t normally feel guilt over anything I genuinely enjoy — even if I should — but only on Valentine’s Day would I let myself string these hits together:
Barry Manilow’s “Weekend in New England”: He sounded exactly the same last night, as did the crowd’s collective “Ah” after the first notes. The key change gives me chills.
Air Supply’s “Chances”:
Neil Diamond’s “Hello Again”:...

Back at the beginning of July in the daily Briefs, I started the Official snicks Top 100 Lost Hits of The 80's, spotlighting the 100 greatest minor hits of that decade. The songs you don't hear on any 80's nostalgia show. Songs that missed the top ten, or top twenty ... or top forty, and over the last five months I hope some of these forgotten gems may have rung a long dormant bell, or for younger readers, provided a pop music history lesson.
Here is the complete list, including my favorite lost song of the decade. Thank you for taking this 80's road trip with me ... but it's not over yet! I'll be featuring a new Lost Hit once a week in the Wednesday Briefs, so the history lesson will continue!
Let the countdown commence, and remember ... keep your feet on the ground, and keep reaching for the stars!

TBS has another chance to prove it's Very Funny tonight, as Wedding Band premieres at 10 p.m. Est.
The one-hour long sitcom stars Brian Austin Green, Harold Perrineau and Melora Hardin and centers on a group of friends who bust loose every weekend at weddings and Bar Mitzvahs, having fun and meeting their fair share of women in the process.
Based on a group of friends, who have jobs and responsibilities during the week but break loose on the weekends and become the best wedding band you’ll find. Of course there’s also lots of romantic entanglements and other mishaps that pop up to keep the laughs coming.
In anticipation of the series, and having been entertained by the opening episodes I've already screened, I recently talked to Green and Hardin about the series...

Kelly Clarkson and Vince Gill take a trip back to the early ‘80s with “Don’t Rush,” a duet featured on the “American Idol” champ’s “Greatest Hits- Chapter One” set coming Nov. 19. With its soft rock, adult contemporary production and Gill’s tasteful guitar lines, the song sounds like it could be on the charts right beside Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton’s “Islands in the Stream” or Air Supply’s “All Out Of Love.” There’s even a pause before the key change at the end. It's as different as "Don't You Wanna Stay," her duet with Jason Aldean, could be. [More after the jump...]...

Boardwalk Empire, Season 3, Episode 3, “Bone For Tuna”
Written by Chris Haddock
Directed by Jeremy Podeswa
Airs Sundays at 9pm (Et) on HBO
Top moment this week: watching Bobby Cannavale and Gretchen Mol in their first scene together. It’s like watching a Great White and a cobra face off. Two entirely different but equally deadly creatures confront each other for the first time. They eye each other for weaknesses. They size up the best place to bite. They retreat to consider their options. It’s like Animal Planet in period dress.
If Cannavale as Gyp Rosetti is ably filling the large boots recently and sadly vacated by William Forsythe as Manny Horvitz – just watch Cannavale’s eyes go dead when he thinks Nucky’s careless reference to trees implies he is an ape – the rest of the male characters are lagging behind in the interest stakes. Football games and awkward dances, late-night gabfests at the local diner and tentative first kisses – they're all there over the course of a school year in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."
This coming-of-age drama, based on the best-selling young adult novel of the same name, may sound like total formula, right down to the rebellious thrill of experimenting with drugs and alcohol and the liberation of experiencing "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." But there's also a darkness that follows its main character, even at his happiest, which keeps the film from turning completely safe and self-satisfied.
"Perks" features a well-chosen cast, an eclectic music mix (David Bowie, New Order, Air Supply) and some moments of uncomfortable honesty as well as dreamlike wonder. And it's anchored by strong performances on two ends of the acting spectrum: from Logan Lerman as Charlie, the high-school freshman of the film's title whose reserved...

Before he lip-synched to children’s songs on Saturday Night, before he played Latka on Taxi, before he wrestled ladies on Merv Griffin, Andy Kaufman hitchhiked cross-country from the East Coast to Las Vegas to meet his idol, Elvis Presley. Too broke to buy Elvis tickets, he hid out in a broom closet for a couple days and waylaid the King backstage. Later, while Kaufman was knocking around the Strip, he saw someone else perform: a lounge singer who was crass, drunk, and washed up. That has-been became the inspiration for Kaufman’s ego-maniacal character Tony Clifton, a bitter, libidinous Mr.

The Amazing Race Review, Season 20, Episode 8,
“Let Them Drink Their Haterade”
Airs Sundays at 8pm (Et) on CBS
If there’s one thing that unites fans of The Amazing Race, it’s a hatred of the non-elimination legs. Since the show is unlikely to expand the cast due to added costs, they’re a necessity to produce the expected number of episodes. The non-elimination penalty has varied over the years. There was nothing extra during the first four seasons, but Phil started “mugging” the teams by taking their money in the fifth season. Since that didn’t seem like enough, he also started taking their possessions a few seasons later. Viewers didn’t enjoy seeing teams lose everything, so the producers have tinkered with other variations over the years. The current penalty is the Speed Bump, which requires the last-place team to complete an extra task on the following leg.

Amazing Race 20 eliminated Nary & Jamie in episode 8 tonight. Tonight's episode kicked off with the teams, finding out they had to go to Safari Junction, and find the Hillary Clinton shop to get their first clue for this leg of the race. There was talk of trying to get Rachel & Brendon out of the game with a possible double u-turn. Once they arrived at the Hillary Clinton shop, they ran into their detours. They got to choose to do either the "Water Supply," or "Air Supply" detour. In the "Water Supply" detour, they had to deliver water containers to a home owner to get their next clue. In the "Air Supply" detour, they had to correctly fix a bicycle tire, inner tube leak to get their next clue. After the detours, the teams had to head to Jack Stelzer's Pub & Karatu to get their next clue. Then it led them to...

In honor of Valentine’s Day, let’s each confess a ballad we’re 99.9 percent sure we are the last person to have listened to — and see if we’re right. I’ll start, with a quick scroll through my Recently Played list:
• Air Supply’s “Chances”: Because I was supposed to see them — for a third time — on Saturday night but missed the show. I used to have to listen to their entire Greatest Hits 8-track before I would get dressed for elementary school (minus “Sweet Dreams,” because the intro scared me). Everyone knows “Making Love Out of Nothing At All.

Double trouble came to Supernatural last Friday, as Dean and Sam found themselves on the FBI's Most Wanted List.

What was your favorite scene, moment or quote?
Carissa: Hands down it was Dean singing Air Supply. I watched it over and over and couldn't stop laughing. You were spot on in your review, Sean, comparing it to the Eye of the Tiger moment. Historic! Second runner up would be the scene when the fake bros were discussing how much they hated real Sam and Dean and being stuck in their skin.

Episode opens with a scene from Reservoir Dogs: Sammy and Dean walk into a bank, rob it and massacre everyone, taking care that they are captured on all the security cams. (Red flag!) Turns out, they are not Sam and Dean, but Leviathans dressed as Sam and Dean (Henceforth referred to as Honey Bunny and Pumpkin respectively, to avoid confusion with real Sam and Dean).
