- Robert H. Planck was born on August 19, 1902 in Huntington, Indiana, USA. He was a cinematographer, known for The Three Musketeers (1948), Lili (1953) and Anchors Aweigh (1945). He died on October 31, 1971 in Camarillo, California, USA.
- As director of photography from 1929. First at United Artists, 1930-1932 (again, 1934-1936 and 1938-1939); at Fox 1933 and 1937; Universal in 1935. Settled at MGM (1940-1956) and worked on some of their best melodramas (Madame Bovary (1949), Little Women (1949)_) and musicals (Anchors Aweigh (1945), The Belle of New York (1952), etc.).
