Walton Goggins, the ghoulish antihero of Prime Video's Fallout series, has become an unexpected sex symbol with the show's success.
Undoubtedly, the reason is the character of Ghoul. Goggins combines a hardened survivalist's anarchic mind with a Hollywood cowboy's rustic stoicism.
He feels like Ronald Reagan channeling John Wayne, like a man at the end of his days who sticks around for one more horseback ride.
The resignation in his attitude drives his character, not to mention the characters around him who react to his infamy and monstrous appearance. He's the new face of anarchy and arguably the first mainstream character to embody the spirit of anarchy with such a genteel facade.
You must be in love with Cooper Howard, aka The Ghoul, because you've seen Walton Goggin's face many times.
He's been in countless movies since the 1990s, usually playing morally confused or at least ambiguous characters. He has...

Running for 6 seasons from 2010-2015, Justified was a popular neo-Western that still holds a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and regularly pulled in over 2 million viewers.
Throughout the series, Raylan Givens (played by Timothy Olyphant) and Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) were one-time colleagues but now adversaries. Crowder, a career criminal, was a recurring character in Season 1 who became a regular in Season 2 and was at odds with lawman Givens.
As the series went on, though, it appears the fictional rivalry spilled out into the actors' real lives.
The two 'weren't talking' by the end of the show
In an interview with The Independent, Goggins (who's currently filming the next season of White Lotus) said the pair 'had a tough time towards the end of Justified' as they were 'so deep into these people we were playing, and they were polar opposites'.

George Lucas is unarguably one of the best masters of science fiction storytelling, and the Star Wars saga only proves just how immensely talented he is. Not only has he created jaw-dropping storylines for this universe, but he has also introduced some of the most out-of-the-world characters. This also includes getting influenced by other universes and basing his own characters on them.

Surprisingly enough, Cad Bane, who is regarded as one of the most dangerous bounty hunters in this sci-fi universe, was created after Lucas was inspired by a character from Sergio Leone’s Dollars Trilogy. But what’s iconic is that this particular bounty hunter is actually based on Lee Van Cleef’s Angel Eyes, the enigmatic character from the Clint Eastwood-starrer trilogy.

Walton Goggins is an extremely well-known and respected actor. While he has been making headlines recently through his work in Fallout, other iconic works have helped him become the star that he is today. One of the best examples is his hit series, Justified, which ran for six seasons and became very critically acclaimed.
Walton Goggins in Fallout
In the hit series, the actor played the role of Boyd Crowder, alongside Timothy Olyphant’s Raylan Givens. The pair naturally became very close through the filming of the series. However, by the end of the shooting, it would seem that there was a very apparent drift between them, and the reason for it is quite interesting.

Quentin Tarantino has a few strict policies on his film sets, including banning cell phones. But he didn’t always have this rule in place. It wasn’t until a Kill Bill incident that Tarantino felt cell phones had to go.

Tarantino’s strict cell phone policy didn’t just spring out of nowhere. The filmmaker puts a lot of focus and work into making his movies what they end up being on screen. So, he’s had little tolerance for mistakes on set that might jeopardize the process. While making Kill Bill, someone received a phone call at possibly the worst time during production. And Tarantino immediately felt there needed to be a change.

Walton Goggins and Timothy Olyphant starred in Justified for six seasons, but by the end of its FX run, the actors were not on the best of terms.
Goggins first opened up about his fractured relationship with his co-star in Peter Biskind’s book Pandora’s Box: How Guts, Guile, and Greed Upended TV. In a new interview, Goggins once again said he and Olyphant “weren’t talking” by the show’s series finale.

Pop quiz hot shot: What’s the best action movie of the past 20 or 30 years that never received a cinematic sequel? Nope, it’s not Speed. Is it Wanted? Nobody? The Accountant? How about Knight and Day or American Made? While the latter comes from director Doug Liman, we’d argue that the correct answer is Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Liman’s eminently watchable assassin thriller that continues to shine thanks to the explosive chemistry between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, two luminous movie stars who met and fell in love during production. Although the movie earned decent reviews and grossed nearly half a billion dollars worldwide, Mr. & Mrs. Smith never received an official sequel or cinematic spinoff and is often remembered for the juicy tabloid gossip surrounding its two superstars.
Yet, in 2024, a small-screen adaptation of Liman’s hit action flick has been produced by Amazon Prime Video,...

At its core, the Alien franchise is easy to understand: people meet aliens, bad things happen. It’s a lot harder to keep track of when exactly these things occur.
Alien takes place in 2122, Aliens 57 years later, and then Alien 3 happens shortly afterwards. But then things get weird. Alien Resurrection jumps ahead 202 years, Prometheus begins sometime in prehistory and then in 2093, and Alien: Covenant is in 2104. Alien: Romulus will squeeze in between the first two movies, around 2142, which is 20 years after the original. And that’s not even going through the Alien vs Predator flicks or the countless games, books, and comics.
Then there’s the new Alien TV series coming from creator Noah Hawley, best known for the Fargo show and Legion. Deadline has confirmed the movie takes place about 30 years before the events of Alien, or as FX chief John Landgraf put it to THR, “near the...

The Alien franchise is set to continue on the small screen with an “FX on Hulu” TV series from Fargo creator Noah Hawley, a show that began filming last year, then had to halt production after a month due to the actors strike. It’s been a few months since we’ve heard any news about this project, as director Fede Alvarez’s film Alien: Romulus (which is set to reach theatres on August 16th) has been getting all of the attention, but now Deadline has confirmed that filming has resumed in Thailand – and Sandra Yi Sencindiver of Foundation has joined the cast to play “a senior member of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation” in multiple episodes. “We hear there’s scope for the character to grow in future seasons.”

There’s a lot going on in the world of Alien at the moment. The original classic is returning to theaters, for starters, and the Xenomorphs will be fighting Marvel’s superheroes in the upcoming mashup comic Aliens vs. Avengers. Of course, the main event for 2024 is Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus, a brand new big screen movie set between Alien and Aliens!
With so much going on, you’d be forgiven for forgetting that Disney is also working on an “Alien” television series, in the works for FX from creator Noah Hawley (“Legion”).
The Alien franchise’s first ever television series is likely to arrive sometime in 2025, set to be the first story in the franchise that takes place on Earth, roughly 70 years in the future.
FX teases, “Expect a scary thrill ride set not too far in the future here on Earth.”
So what’s the latest on the “Alien” TV series?...

James Gunn has advised Joe Manganiello to consider moving on from his role in the Dceu. The 47-year-old actor portrayed Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, in Zack Snyder’s DC Extended Universe, making brief appearances in both Justice League and The Snyder Cut. He was also slated to star in Ben Affleck’s canceled Batman film.
Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke in Justice League
Apart from that, there were talks of a potential standalone Deathstroke movie, for which Manganiello even had a screenplay prepared. Despite DC Comics’ interest in the screenplay, Gunn suggested he let go of any potential plans for the character.

With James Gunn rebooting the DC Universe with Chapter One: Gods & Monsters, the possibility for Joe Manganiello to reprise his role as Deathstroke has been less. However, the actor still had hopes for introducing an origin story for the DC villain.

It has been a lucky 13 years since Tom Hiddleston first played Loki, the God of Mischief in the film “Thor.” He returned to the role recently for season two of the TV series “Loki.” This Disney+ show provided a beautiful end (we’ll see) to the character’s epic arc.
The sophomore outing of the series seee Loki trying to save the universe with the help of Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), Mobius (Owen Wilson), and Ouroboros (Ke Huy Quan). Kang (Jonathan Majors) is once again at the center of the trouble. The series is fantastical and is held together by the superb performance of Hiddleston. Once again, this classically trained actor brings Shakespearean authority to the role. He is also able to infuse increasing vulnerability to the former villain, making Loki one of the best characters in MCU history. Critics agree, “Loki” is the Tom Hiddleston show.

This post contains spoilers for "Fallout" season 1, as well as "Justified" and "Justified: City Primeval."
If you watched "Fallout" this weekend and half-expected Deputy U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens himself to stroll across the show's post-apocalyptic wasteland, you're not alone. Despite not actually sharing a casting director with the FX neo-Western "Justified," the first few episodes of the new Prime Video series feature not just one or two but four different actors who previously appeared on the Kentucky-set drama. That's a whole lot of Harlan for one video game adaptation.
Walton Goggins, who stars in "Fallout" as the actor-turned-undead gunslinger known primarily as the Ghoul, is the most obvious connection between the two shows. But she finds an unlikely subject for a new book when the house next door is bought by Nile Sheldon, a famed and formidable real estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance,” reads the Netflix synopsis. “At once horrified and fascinated by this man, Aggie finds herself compulsively hunting for the truth – chasing his demons while fleeing her own – in a game of cat and mouse that might turn deadly.”

Walton Goggins has been a part of some interesting films and TV projects over the years. While he might not be an A-list superstar, his range and versatility as an actor cannot be underestimated. His Emmy-nominated performance as Boyd Crowder in Justified was one of many roles where he shined as an actor.
Ella Purnell as Lucy in Amazon’s Fallout
In films, he famously starred in Tarantino’s dual Western films Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight. He is gearing up for his next big role as the Ghoul in the upcoming Fallout series for Amazon. It seems Goggins was blown away by last year’s The Last of Us series and talked to Pedro Pascal about his experience on making the show.

Walton Goggins appeared in several roles when he was in Georgia before he starred in the FX series The Shield, which was aired from 2002 to 2008. His next role was that of Boyd Crowder in the neo-Western crime drama TV series Justified, which aired for six seasons between 2010 and 2015.

Goggins was praised for his role as Crowder in the series, but many might not know that the actor turned down the role not once but twice. He revealed the reason behind doing so in an interview, and it is nothing short of noble.

Amazon Prime’s Fallout series will debut very soon, and fans are no doubt very excited. After all, the series looks pretty incredible; its characters feel straight out of the Fallout franchise, and the music feels pretty accurate as well. Furthermore, the actors they have chosen also seem to have portrayed their characters pretty brilliantly, especially Walton Goggins as a wasteland-dwelling ghoul.
This is mostly what fans noticed in this series’ recently launched trailer. There’s no doubt there’s much more to this series that fans have not seen yet. But one thing is for sure: when the Fallout series launches on Amazon Prime in April, fans will miss out on some small details that were intentionally kept out of it.

Fans of Yellowstone still have months to go before the Paramount Network hit returns with its last batch of episodes, but we have a TV anniversary to celebrate in the meantime. HBO’s 2004 series Deadwood, another small-screen Western, turns 20 on March 21. Created by David Milch (NYPD Blue), Deadwood was set in the titular South Dakota town, with Timothy Olyphant playing the real-life sheriff Seth Bullock and Ian McShane playing the real-life saloon owner Al Swearengen. All 36 episodes of Deadwood are streaming on Max — as the 2019 follow-up, Deadwood: The Movie — and we reckon it’s high time for you to pay that town a visit, especially if you like Yellowstone. Here’s why. 1. Deadwood also tells a tale of greed and crime in the West, set around the time of Yellowstone spinoff 1883. As Deadwood starts, it’s 1876, and the namesake community is a lawless mining camp overrun by misfits and criminals...

On March 21, 2004, HBO introduced audiences to the frontier outpost of Deadwood, where the Timothy Olyphant and Ian McShane series ran for three seasons. Fifteen years after its premiere it was revived as a standalone movie on the premium cabler. The Hollywood Reporter’s original review of season one is below:
David Milch, executive producer of NYPD Blue and, before that, Hill Street Blues, has spent years looking at society from the perspective of those who enforce its laws and impose order. His new series, Deadwood, imagines a world without law, a world ruled only by the conscience of individuals, many of whom have none. The result is a Western unlike most others. It is brutal, passionate, heroic, tragic, blanketed by coarseness and always fascinating, though some times morbidly so.
Although it would be just as solid a drama if it were cut from whole cloth, Deadwood is deeply rooted in historical reality.

Director Fede Alvarez recently wrapped production on a new Alien film from 20th Century Studios that was originally intended to be released through the Hulu streaming service, but was then given an August 16, 2024 theatrical release date. (Here’s everything we know about that movie.) And that’s not the only new Alien project we have to look forward to. Fargo TV series creator Noah Hawley has been developing an Alien TV series for “FX on Hulu” for the last couple years, and below you’ll find Everything We Know About the Alien TV Series!
The Setting
One of the first things we heard about the Alien series – and one of the most surprising things about it – is that it will actually be set on Earth, a couple decades before the events of the first movie. FX chairman John Landgraf has said the show will take place “right near the end...

We finally got a Halo live-action series, and while fans have mixed feelings about the series, no one can deny the brilliant action and cast in the Paramount+ series. Halo the series is set in the 26th century and will be centered on the Master Chief, the world’s deadliest weapon and their greatest hope in the war with the Covenant (an alien race). While protecting a rebel group from the Covenant on planet Madrigal, Master Chief saves Kwan and also touches an object that seems to unlock his buried memories, and also makes him want to protect Kwan, even if it means going against him the orders given to him by the Unsc. Fargo and Alien are not necessarily two projects that you’d associate with each other but they both come from the mind of Noah Hawley and are for FX.
The former has just finished its fifth season starring Jon Hamm and Juno Temple, while the latter is shooting in Thailand ahead of a 2025 launch.
When asked whether there were plans for a sixth season of Fargo, FX boss John Landgraf said it depends of how Alien pans out.
[Alien] is big imaginative reimagining of that franchise. It was really fun to watch [Noah] take on the Alien franchise in the way I watched him take on Fargo, to try to figure out how to deconstruct where the magic of it comes from and what were the key ingredients and how he can deliver those ingredients in a different way without just repeating things that have been done before,” he said.

Nearly a decade before Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were shooting machine guns at each other in their own on-screen home, Scott Bakula and Maria Bello were beating each other up in the pilot episode of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." The 1996 CBS show started off with the soon-to-be Mr. Smith stumbling across the soon-to-be Mrs. Smith on a secret mission. After a lot of fighting and mayhem, they team up by the end of the pilot and the premise of the show is established: From this point on, the two spies will work together, pretending to be a married couple who call themselves the Smiths.
It's a premise that sounds awfully familiar to fans of the '05 movie, and even more familiar to viewers of the brand new Amazon series of the same name. Just as Donald Glover and Maya Erskine's characters slowly develop feelings for each other over...

Officially, Prime Video’s spy drama Mr. and Mrs. Smith is based on the 2005 film of the same name. Unofficially, however, its origins are a bit murkier. Though this 2024 streaming iteration of Mr. and Mrs. Smith starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine shares its basic premise with the previous Brad Pitt and Angelina-starring version (a married couple who also happen to be spies), the series diverges from it in some major ways as well.
In an interview with The Today Show, Glover (who also co-created the 2024 series) even admitted to not having seen the 2005 Doug Liman-directed film when he decided to embark upon the project. Co-creator Francesca Sloane wrote in an open letter to fans that “No one would need a show that retold the same blockbuster movie. But what we set out to do was to make something wholly original.”

The Tom Hardy-starring actioner Havoc, from Gareth Evans, wrapped production back in 2021 yet as it stands, isn’t slated to debut until 2025.

However, in a slimmed-down list there was one film in particular that was missing, causing an eyebrow or two to raise in puzzlement.
The film in question (as first noticed by World of Reel) is Gareth Evans’ Havoc, a movie that was shot all the way back in 2021 and yet still doesn’t seem to have secured a release date on Netflix. An action thriller, directed by the filmmaker behind The Raid, starring Tom Hardy and shot in Wales? Yes, please. we’d like this one just as soon as it’s ready,...

Alien TV series is meant to run for multiple seasons, but Noah Hawley knows where the story is going
The Alien franchise is set to continue on the small screen with an “FX on Hulu” TV series from Fargo creator Noah Hawley, a show that began filming last year, then had to halt production after a month due to the actors strike. Production is set to resume any day now – and during an interview with Collider, Hawley confirmed that while the series is intended to be a recurring show that will last for more than one season, he also knows where the story is going. He’s just not sure yet how many seasons it will take to get there.
Hawley said, “I think that endings are what gives a story meaning, and so you should never start a story without some sense of where it’s going because then you can really build that meaning into it. With Legion, I had what felt like a three-act structure to...

“What happens when Weyland is not around to program you anymore?” archeologist Elizabeth Shaw asks the android David.
“I suppose I’ll be free,” answers David.
“You want that?”
The question gives the android pause. “Want? Not a concept I’m familiar with,” he answers. “That being said, doesn’t everyone want their parents dead?”
Conversations such as this one between Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and David (Michael Fassbender) recur throughout Prometheus, directed by Ridley Scott and written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof. For his first movie in the franchise since the original Alien, Scott had little interest in more xenomorphs or any of the deep-space thrills of his previous installment. Instead, Prometheus explored the relationship between God and humanity, using metaphors of the created fighting the creators or children killing parents.
In a way, writer Noah Hawley is continuing those themes for his Alien television series. The still-untitled show...

Decades after making the sci-fi horror classic Alien, director Ridley Scott returned to the Alien franchise with the intention of making a series of prequels that would tell us all about the “Space Jockey” and the creation of the xenomorph. The mythology Scott presented in Prometheus and Alien: Covenant didn’t sit well with a lot of fans – and when Alien: Covenant underwhelmed and underperformed, his prequel series came to an early end. Now the franchise is set to continue with a new film directed by Fede Alvarez and an “FX on Hulu” TV series from Fargo creator Noah Hawley… and during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hawley confirmed that he’s one of the fans who wasn’t very impressed by the story told in Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. So don’t expect to see nods to the mythology or technology of those films in the TV show.

The Alien franchise will return with its first ever television series in 2025, and it’s set to be the first story in the franchise that takes place on Earth, roughly 70 years in the future.
Creator Noah Hawley‘s take on the Alien franchise has been described as both an “extension and reinvention” of the films, but don’t expect Ridley Scott’s prequel movies to factor into the series. Scott, who’s on board the FX series as producer, dug into the origins of the Xenomorphs in both Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, but Hawley reveals in a new chat with Kcrw’s The Business that he’s not interested in playing with any of those story threads.
Furthermore, he’s only interested in exploring the tech of the original two movies.

It sounds as though Noah Hawley’s Alien TV series will render the events of Prometheus and Alien: Covenant non-canon. We look at what it all could mean.
Nb: The following contains spoilers for Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.
Here’s a tense scenario: as the showrunner of an upcoming TV show, you have to tell Ridley Scott – seldom one to mince his words – that the story you have planned will essentially jettison two of his movies.
What would Scott say? What would he do? Should you wear a fire-retardant suit? A crash helmet perhaps?
Incredibly, it sounds as though the multi-talented writer-director (and singer) Noah Hawley did exactly this in recent months, and somehow lived to tell the tale.
The upcoming TV show in question is Hawley’s hotly-anticipated Alien series, set in the universe Scott first established in 1979. Featuring the likes of Essie Davis and Timothy Olyphant among its ensemble cast,...

“Fargo” showrunner Noah Hawley teased his new FX series “Alien” in a recent interview with Kcrw’s The Business.
Though plot details are being kept under wraps, Hawley’s “Alien” series is set on Earth and roughly 70 years in future, predating the original film series.
Hawley was asked whether or not he would incorporate the backstory in Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” (2012) and “Alien: Covenant” (2017) into his FX series. The prequel films included a controversial backstory where the aliens were manufactured as a bioweapon by a mysterious race known as the Engineers.
“Ridley and I have talked about this — and many, many elements of the show,” Hawley said. “For me, and for a lot of people, this ‘perfect life form’ — as it was described in the first film — is the product of millions of years of evolution that created this creature that may have existed for a million years out there in space.

Emmy winner Noah Hawley is teasing his highly anticipated FX Alien prequel series.
The Fargo showrunner was recently interviewed by Kcrw’s The Business, hosted by Hollywood Reporter Editor-At-Large Kim Masters.
Hawley was asked by interviewer Eric Deggans about Alien, which is set on Earth about 70 years into the future, predating the feature film franchise.
Right out of the gate, Hawley showed his understanding of the franchise by giving a rather perfect description of what Alien is really about: “The thing with Alien is that it’s not just a great monster movie. It’s the story of humanity trapped between its primordial parasitic past and its AI future, and they’re both trying to kill us. So, there’s nowhere to go. It’s really a story of does humanity deserve to survive? Does humanity’s arrogance in thinking that we’re no longer food and its arrogance in...

There were many iconic moments during Sex and the City‘s six-season run. Still, Matthew McConaughey yelling intensely at Carrie Bradshaw in his Hollywood office might be one of the most iconic. The scene feels a bit misplaced in the series, but it still elicits a giggle during every rewatch.
For most fans, no one but McConaughey would do in the role. He wasn’t the first to be offered the guest spot, though. It was only offered to the True Detective star because three other actors turned it down.
How Matthew McConaughey landed his iconic ‘Sex and the City’ guest spot
While it feels like only McConaughey could bring the energy needed to his infamous Sex and the City scene, it apparently could have been pretty much anyone else. In fact, McConaughey only landed the role because he was the first one to say yes. The show’s writers...

Fargo creator Noah Hawley is making an Alien TV series for “FX on Hulu”, and the show started filming in Bangkok, Thailand last year – but then, after a month, production had to be paused to wait out the Screen Actors Guild strike. That strike is now over, and Alien is expected to resume filming any day now. As production revs back up, Deadline has learned that Moe Bar-El, whose previous credits include The Peripheral, Better, Femme, and Count Abdulla, has been cast in a recurring role. They just weren’t able to dig up any details on the role he’ll be playing.
Bar-El joins previously announced cast members Sydney Chandler (Pistol) as the meta-human Wendy, who has the body of an adult, but the brain and consciousness of a child; Essie Davis (The Babadook) as Dame Silvia, Alex Lawther (The End of the F*cking World) as a soldier named Cj,...

The cast for FX’s “Alien” series continues to grow, with Deadline reporting that actor Moe Bar-El (The Peripheral) joins in recurring capacity. More interestingly, the announcement gives a bit more insight to the many of the characters in the series.
The series is “set in a time period before Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley and is the first story in the franchise that takes place on Earth, roughly 70 years in the future.” FX originally noted, “Expect a scary thrill ride set not too far in the future here on Earth.”
Bar-El joins previously announced cast members Babou Ceesay (“Guerrilla,” “Damilola”), Jonathan Ajayi (“Wonder Woman 1984,” “Noughts and Crosses”), Erana James (“Uproar,” “The Wilds”), Lily Newmark (“Pin Cushion,” “Sex Education”), Diêm Camille (“Washington Black,” “Alex Rider 3”), and Adrian Edmondson, Timothy Olyphant (“Fargo”), David Rysdahl (“Fargo”), Essie Davis (The Babadook), Alex Lawther (The End of the F*cking World), Samuel Blenkin (“Black Mirror...
