- Jerry Murad was born on December 1, 1918 in Constantinople, Ottoman Empire [now Istanbul, Turkey]. He was an actor, known for The Big Record (1957), Footlight Varieties (1951) and Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall (1948). He died on May 11, 1996 in Liberty Township, Ohio, USA.
- Leader of 'The Harmonicats', an all-harmonica trio, active from the mid-1940's to the late 60's. One of their numbers, "Peg O' My Heart" reached No. 1 in the charts in 1947. They recorded mostly for Columbia and Mercury. Murad also authored several harmonica instruction books.
