The Dutton family has kept us engrossed in their fights, career highlights, and the mystery surrounding their past.
Unfortunately, it will all come to a close with the back half of Yellowstone Season 5.
But, what's about to go down in these last-ever episodes, you ask?
Scroll down because we've rounded up everything there is to know.
Has Yellowstone Been Renewed?
This is a bit of a trick question. Paramount Network had always planned on splitting the season into two parts, with the first half launching in November 2022.
The second half was set to premiere in the summer of 2023, but behind-the-scenes drama changed everything for the show.
Initially, it was alleged that Kevin Costner didn't want to commit to filming six more episodes, with reports claiming he gave a small window of availability.
The actor's representatives shut down those claims. It was then revealed that the series would end following Yellowstone...

Kevin Costner’s future with Yellowstone has seemingly been confirmed.
Fans of the Western drama were recently shocked by the claims that Costner would step away from his role as the head of the Dutton family.
The reports stated that Costner’s alleged decision had prompted creator, Sicario and Hell or High Water writer Taylor Sheridan, to bring the show to an end. A spin-off starring Matthew McConaughey is said to be in the works.
It had previously been claimed that Sheridan locked heads with Costner, who won a Golden Globe for his role in January, over the actor’s shooting schedules for another project, which left the Yellowstone crew with minimal time to complete filming.
The actor’s attorney refuted this claim, stating: “The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of season five of Yellowstone is an absolute lie.”

With the future of Yellowstone in question, many thought the cast appearing alongside each other at PaleyFest would help quell the fears the show was on the brink of cancellation.
PaleyFest revealed earlier this year that all the prominent cast members, including Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, Kelsey Asbille, Wes Betley, Gil Birmingham, and Jacki Weaver.
Also supposed to be in attendance were EPs Taylor Sheridan and David Glasser.
However, things took a turn when the press were informed just ahead of the red carpet that only four people from the cast would be present.
Josh Lucas, Wendy Moniz, Mo Brings Plenty, and Dawn Olivieri were the four cast members who attended the event.
Given the April 1 date of the panel, we can only imagine many thought it was a big April Fool's Day joke and that the cast would pop up when those in attendance least expected it.

Speaking at a Yellowstone panel on Saturday night, Keith Cox, president of development and production at Paramount Network, addressed the elephant in the room concerning star Kevin Costner’s future with the show.
“What I can say is our star, the face of our show and the executive producer, are very confident he’s going to continue with our show,” Cox told the crowd at the Dolby Theatre, in front of hundreds of fans who delivered an enthusiastic response.
In February, it was reported that the network may seek to end Yellowstone sooner rather than later due to scheduling battles with Costner, who plays patriarch John Dutton and reportedly demanded to only work for a single week on the second half of season five. The first half of the season aired its midseason finale Jan. 1 and is set to return for the second half this summer. The episode set up...

It was no April Fool’s joke: Yellowstone fans who were expecting to hear from Taylor Sheridan and his drama’s biggest stars were no-shows at PaleyFest in Los Angeles Saturday.
When the panel was first announced, fans were promised a starry lineup that included all the main cast members like Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, Kelsey Asbille, Wes Betley, Gil Birmingham and Jacki Weaver. It was also promising that executive producers Taylor Sheridan and David Glasser would be on hand, along with “additional guests to be announced.”
However, when the time came to celebrate Yellowstone at the Dolby Theatre Saturday night, the lineup drastically changed, despite the website still showing all the stars and EPs earlier in the day.
After screening episode 507 titled “The Dream Is Not Me,” fans were then told by a PaleyFest rep that the panel lineup had changed because of “scheduling conflicts.

The “Yellowstone” drama continues. The main cast of the show, along with creator Taylor Sheridan, were expected to attend PaleyFest in Los Angeles on Saturday evening — but unexpectedly didn’t show up.
About 30 minutes before the red carpet was supposed to begin at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, press was let in and given a tip sheet with only four cast member names on it: Josh Lucas, Wendy Moniz, Mo Brings Plenty and Dawn Olivieri. Paramount Network development president Keith Cox also attended, but did not speak to press on the carpet.
The original list of those who were supposed to be there included Sheridan and executive producer David Glasser, as well as the show’s stars Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, Kelsey Asbille, Wes Bentley, Gil Birmingham and Jacki Weaver. Paramount Network’s Yellowstone wraps up the first half of season five with episode eight, “A Knife and No Coin.” Episode seven ended with Jamie on the verge of going to war with John and Beth. However, episode eight makes us wait a while to get back to that storyline and instead slips into a flashback of young Rip making his first trip with a dead body to the train station.
John (Josh Lucas) asks what Rowdy said that caused Rip to stand up for Beth. John knows without Rip explaining exactly what was said, and he informs Rip that the only fighting he’ll do in the future is to protect the ranch or someone who works there.
Rip is offered the Yellowstone’s brand and told if he accepts, he’s committed his life to the ranch. In exchange,...

That's all she wrote, folks.
Well, for the time being at least.
Yellowstone Season 5 is taking a breather, but don't worry, it will return.
During the midseason finale (a first for Yellowstone), it was revealed that the show will return for the summer.
We knew it was going to be a big episode since those of us who cover it didn't get a screener ahead of time.
Of course, that means that you won't get a full review for the episode until later tonight, but you've got this semi-good news to tide you over.
As we rolled into the midseason finale, we were awaiting news about how the rest of the season will play out with new dynamics.
Beth realized just how far in debt the ranch was after apparently sticking her head in the sand and trusting what John trusted -- what worked for the last 100 plus years.

A lot went down in this week’s episode of Yellowstone, and a few moments really stood out in the scope of the show’s fifth season. Especially the show’s first LGBT kiss.
Yellowstone‘s first LGBT kiss. (Image: Paramount)
The episode started with an intense flashback that explained Rip’s loyalty to John Dutton and the ranch. In his teenage years, Rip (Kyle Red Silverstein) beat a fellow cowboy to death because he spoke crudely about Beth, whom they both liked. In a revelatory moment for the show’s viewers, John (Kevin Costner) agrees to cover up the murder as long as he’s loyal to the Yellowstone Ranch.

In another difficult scene underscored by Sarah’s (Dawn Olivieri) questionable motives for sleeping with Jamie (Wes Bentley), the two discuss their political agenda. Sarah vows to help Jamie impeach John as the governor of Montana.

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers from Season 5, Episode 6, of “Yellowstone,” “Cigarettes, Whiskey, a Meadow and Fog,” which premiered Sunday, Dec. 11 on Paramount Network.
Last week’s “Yellowstone” was memorable for Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Summer (Piper Perabo) getting into a brutal brawl. At the episode’s end, many of the Duttons saddled up and headed to The Gather in order to brand some cattle. This week’s show is a relatively quiet, meditative take on the cowboy lifestyle. On with the recap:
I can’t tell if Beth’s “I don’t like to share the things I find beautiful” monologue is romantic and profound, or the ramblings of someone who just took a big bong rip. Who are these psychotic Secret Service police officers shooting dogs on the Reservation? The president must be protected, sure, but isn’t this a nightmare if the press finds out? How is the U.

The opening scene of Paramount Network’s Yellowstone season five episode four confirms Beth’s been taken to jail. Her cellmate’s in rough shape and they exchange brief stories of how they wound up in this predicament.
Jamie (Wes Bentley) arrives to speak with his incarcerated sister, but Beth downplays what happened. “What’s the big f*cking deal, Jamie? I got into a barfight in Boseman. Montana Board of Tourism should put that on f*cking T-shirts,” says Beth (Kelly Reilly).
Jamie points out the tourism board wouldn’t be keen on locals beating up tourists. He also explains this can’t be swept under the rug. Beth’s only hope is that the woman doesn’t file charges. If she doesn’t, then Jamie can ask for mercy based on Beth’s “diminished capacity” to control her f*cking emotions.

Yellowstone continues to be a force in the ratings for Paramount Network.
The highly anticipated Yellowstone Season 5 premiere drew a cumulative 12.1 million viewers.
These numbers include simulcasts on CMT, TV Land, Pop, and Sunday-night encores.
The numbers showcase that interest in the Taylor Sheridan-created drama is not waning.
It's rare for a series to grow exponentially, but the word-of-mouth for the Kevin Costner drama continues to be off the charts.
Last month, the first two episodes launched in theaters as a special fan-focused event that sold out in many locations.
Yellowstone chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States.
Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and vicious business rivalries.

The Duttons have returned for a new season of family drama and political backstabbing, and it seems that there was quite an audience for the Yellowstone season 5 premiere.
Yellowstone has seen its ratings steadily rise over the last four seasons, and the first two episodes of the latest season have continued that trend. The Yellowstone season 5 premiere saw 8.8 million viewers on Paramount Network, which marks a 10 increase from the season 4 premiere. Across all four networks, Paramount Network, CMT, TVLand, and Pop, the premiere pulled in 10.3 million viewers, an 8 increase over last year’s 9.5 million. That number climbed to 12.1 million when the encore presentations were included. The premiere also shattered records in all demographics, each up by double digits. It’s safe to say that audiences are pretty pumped about Yellowstone.

The “Yellowstone” Season 5 premiere on Sunday night saw substantial gains in viewership over the show’s fourth season premiere last year.
The fifth season opener aired across Paramount Network, CMT, TV Land and Pop, with the same networks having aired the previous premiere as well. On Paramount Network alone, the show drew 8.8 million viewers compared to 8 million viewers for last year’s premiere, or a 10 increase. Across all four networks, it pulled in 10.3 million viewers compared to 9.5 million last year, or an 8 increase.
The Season 5 premiere was also rebroadcast on all four networks twice on Sunday night. When factoring in the encore airings, the total viewership rises to 12.1 million viewers, compared to 11.2 million the year before. It should be noted, however, that the Season 4 premiere was only given encore airings on Paramount Network, not on Pop, CMT, or TV Land.

Warning, Spoilers Abound: The Taylor Sheridan Universe got back in business tonight with two Fifth Season debut episodes of Yellowstone, and the launch of Tulsa King. Latter is the comedy that has Sly Stallone as its aging mobster star, and Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire vet Terence Winter as show runner. This will serve as a short recap of Yellowstone, with a thought or two on the potential of Tulsa King. Yellowstone is a Paramount Network show, while Tulsa King will find its place on the streaming service Paramount+, both produced by 101 Studios.
Yellowstone begins with a recap in which Governor Lynelle Perry (Wendy Moniz) devastates black sheep Dutton son Jamie (Wes Bentley) by selecting his adopted father and Yellowstone ranch patriarch John Dutton to run for her vacated seat and be the next Governor of Montana, while she becomes a U.S. Senator. That gets us started with two...

This Yellowstone review contains spoilers.
Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 1 and 2
Yellowstone creator, showrunner, and deity to the cowboy-at-heart, Taylor Sheridan, is often praised for his intense, gritty, and typically crime-driven dramas, yet the prolific writer isn’t recognized enough for his sense of balance. It’s one of the major reasons Yellowstone’s audience continues to grow, even while the show is now entering its fifth and rumored penultimate season, and how it has kept viewers hooked the entire time. Sheridan understands pacing.
Last season started with a literally explosive premiere, as the Duttons were targeted by a then-unknown group of assassins. The Duttons’ youngest son, Kayce (Luke Grimes) chased those who came after him and his family with an indignant vengeance only a Dutton could bring. The season 4 premiere was full of blood, bodies, and bullets and gave viewers exactly what they had been ravenous to see.
