The world of Star Trek has gifted us with unlimited access to intergalactic adventures, with every chapter taking us to a new frontier of space exploration among the stars. Packed with delightful missions, strange worlds, unpredictable species, and interstellar travel, the franchise has driven the audienceʼs imagination with brand-new possibilities for a potential-filled universe occupied by stories and experiences that can only be found hidden within the wildest imaginations of a mad scientist.

Patrick Stewart was a hard sell for Star Trek: Picard since he believed that Jean-Luc Picard’s arc was finished after Star Trek: Nemesis. However, Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, and other creators of the series convinced him to take on the role in the series. He put a lot of consideration into committing to the project, as evident from a list of three conditions he presented to the creators.
Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes in a still from Star Trek: Picard Season 3 | Paramount
They were obviously not thrilled about the conditions and tried to reason with the X-Men actor, who stuck to his guns. While the creators agreed to them, they did one thing that Stewart asked them specifically not to do in the conditions during the third season of the series.

Disney+ still has eyes for Vision. Paul Bettany will return to his Marvel role as the humanoid conception of the malevolent supercomputer Ultron, but a good guy, but also undead because Thanos killed him a few movies back. It’s comics, it’s meant to be confusing.
“WandaVision,” in which Bettany starred opposite Elizabeth Olsen, remains one of the most successful of the Disney+ Marvel shows, netting both Bettany and Olsen Emmy nominations—one of eight Primetime Emmy nominations for the show, as well as 12 Creative Arts Emmy nominations and three wins.
Terry Matalas has been tapped as executive producer and showrunner for the series, due to stream in 2026. Matalas’s most recent gig was over at Paramount+, where he had the center seat on the third season of “Star Trek: Picard.” Most nerds will agree that the third season was the best, pivoting away from the original mandate of...

Disney+ has greenlit a new Marvel series centered around Vision, Paul Bettany will reprise his role. More on the new series here.
Spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War lie ahead
Ever since Marvel extended the MCU into television series, they have divided critics and fans, although praise has often been given to shows like Wandavision, which told its story in a way Marvel hadn’t attempted before.
Disney+ has confirmed that Paul Bettany will reprise his role to lead Vision. The character was killed by Thanos in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and later returned in WandaVision.
The series has been in development since 2022. According to Deadline, the series will follow Vision as he tries to regain his memory and humanity, While the focus is on Vision’s story, there is also the possibility of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) to appear, which would make sense given how interconnected the two characters’ stories are in the MCU.

Disney is bringing Vision back to the MCU with a new Marvel series coming in 2026. Terry Matalas (Star Trek Picard) will be the showrunner.
The new show will reportedly focus on White Vision, who was introduced in “WandaVision.” Paul Bettany will reprise his role as the character.
When we last saw Vision, he was part of Wanda Maximoff’s (Scarlet Witch) spell in Westview. The White Vision was a rebuilt version created by S.W.O.R.D. to destroy Wanda and her version of Vision. When the two Visions fought, White Vision was given Vision’s memories. Then he left.
“WandaVision” used some of the “Vision Quest” comic stories, and it’s unclear if the new show will continue with aspects of that story. However, early rumors about the show indicated it was going by the title “Vision Quest.” Now, it’s apparently just named “Vision.”

This article contains spoilers for Star Trek: Picard and WandaVision.
“What is grief, if not love persevering?” asks Vision in an oft-quoted scene from WandaVision. The sympathetic synthazoid intended the question as a validation of his partner Wanda’s feelings of despair after losing so much in Avengers: Endgame. But it’s also been a good way to describe the state of Marvel Television since WandaVision finished its single-season run.
When WandaVision debuted on Disney+ in 2021, the show promised an exciting era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, still then its apparent prime. Not only did the show focus on a fan-favorite, but little explored character, but it also featured a compelling storytelling style well-suited for the television medium. However, what started as a riff on the history TV sitcoms became a standard superhero battle, complete with Vision battling a duplicate of himself.

We've known for a couple of years now that Marvel had plans for more than one spin-off from WandaVision. With the endlessly title-shifting Agatha All Along already on the way, the company is finally moving forward on a show focused on the ghostly version of Vision, as played by Paul Bettany in the show. And unlike the Agatha series, which was overseen by WandaVision's Jac Schaeffer, this one has been placed in the hands of Star Trek: Picard Season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas.
While Variety brings word of the show's developments, there remains little official on the plot front. It'll presumably Vision's story as the "white" Vision, who had his memories restored by original flavour Vision, as he seeks to explore his new purpose in life.
Whether Olsen might appear (mostly likely in flashback given the events of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness) remains to be seen, but Bettany is confirmed to return.

Following persistent rumors, we got confirmation that a new Disney+ WandaVision spin-off focusing on The Vision was in development at Marvel Studios back in 2022, but it seems the "Vision Quest" project has been completely revamped.
Variety reports that a new, untitled Vision series is in the works, with Star Trek: Picard executive producer Terry Matalas on board as showrunner. The show is currently on track for a 2026 premiere.
Matalas' work on Picard is said to have "greatly impressed the top brass at the studio. Marvel chief Kevin Feige, an avowed Trekkie, even recently appeared with Matalas on a two-hour episode of the Star Trek podcast Inglorious Treksperts.”
Paul Bettany will reprise his role as the McU's tragic synthezoid. There's no mention of Elizabeth Olsen's (Scarlet Witch) potential involvement, but the trade does note that the series will take place after the events of WandaVision, "as ghost Vision presumably explores his new purpose in life.

We all remember Vision, right? He was created after Tony Stark almost doomed the world to be destroyed by a robot, then killed by Thanos and kind of, sort of brought back to life by his wife Wanda in "WandaVision," where he went through a whole identity crisis. He was everyone's favorite Marvel character for about five minutes when he said the whole "What is grief, if not love persevering" thing.

Marvel has tapped “Star Trek: Picard” executive producer Terry Matalas to resurrect Vision, the synthezoid played by Paul Bettany, for a new, untitled Disney+ series set for 2026, Variety has learned exclusively. Bettany will return to the role and Matalas will serve as showrunner.

Based on Chris Marker's 1962 short film "La Jetée," Terry Gilliam's 1995 film "12 Monkeys" begins in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic wasteland ravaged by a deadly virus. Cities are already being reclaimed by plants and animals, and humans have moved into cage-like, nightmarish structures underground. Despite the dire circumstances, humans still adhere to a frustrating bureaucracy, forcing mentally detached people to attend meetings and make plans. Luckily, humans also have access to a time machine, and they have selected James Cole (Bruce Willis) to go back in time to 1990 -- and then again to 1996 -- to find out more about the virus and help find a cure. Because it's a Terry Gilliam film, the picture doesn't exactly end on a note of hope.
Terry Gilliam's films tend to be fraught affairs, usually wracked with production problems, delays, and other things that are out of the filmmaker's control; he seems to be very unlucky.

The third season of Star Trek: Picard did not want for nostalgia, as the final season saw the former Enterprise captain finally reunite with most of his original bridge crew. The high point of the nostalgic final season occurred in the penultimate episode “Vox,” when La Forge revealed a reconstructed and restored Enterprise-d. Amidst explanations about how he rebuilt the ship over 20 years (after its destruction on Veridian III in Star Trek Generations) Geordi drops this bit of information, “And obviously, we can’t use the Enterprise-e.”
The emotional reveries pause for a moment as everyone grows quiet and looks at Worf. “That was not my fault,” the former Enterprise-e captain declares and everyone moves on. It’s a fantastic gag, a reminder of Michael Dorn’s ability to sell a humorous one-liner by playing a humorless character. Yet, in initial drafts, Picard season 3 showrunner Terry Matalas had more grandiose...

Since its debut 1966, Star Trek has been about boldly going forward. And no Star Trek series has gone further forward than Discovery. After a rocky first few seasons set about a decade before The Original Series, Discovery found its place by jumping to the 32nd century, farther into the future than any other entry in the franchise.
As Discovery prepares to end its mission with its fifth and final season, fans might be wondering what’s next for the 32nd century and the TV franchise as a whole. With Strange New Worlds staying in Disco’s original pre-tos era and Lower Decks and Prodigy exploring the period after the Next Generation movie Nemesis, Disco’s exit seems to leave the 32nd century unexplored.
But not so fast, says Star Trek executive producer Alex Kurtzman. “I think you can expect more of [Discovery’s] 32nd century,” Kurtzman teases in an exclusive interview for...

Live-action anime adaptations offer a chance to experience childhood favorites in a fresh way. These adaptations go beyond nostalgia, using Hollywood budgets to bring fantastical anime elements to life in ways animation can’t.

Making a triumphant return to television with Star Trek: Picard, Patrick Stewart reprised his beloved role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Narrating the story of a retired Picard, who is approached by a mysterious woman for help, only to later find that she holds the key to the secrets of his past life, the show features Alison Pill, Ed Speleers, Jonathan Frakes, and more.

Ensign Ro Laren (Michelle Forbes) first appeared in the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episode "Ensign Ro", and she introduced an interesting character dynamic to the series. Whereas most of the characters on "Next Generation" were wholly devoted to Starfleet principals and unwaveringly loyal to Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart), Ensign Ro felt that Starfleet frequently let suffering go unacknowledged. She was combative and disobedient as a result, often openly defying her captain and responding to diplomatic solutions with belligerence.
Forbes' performance was so assured and defiant, however, that Ro's disobedience never felt impulsive or immature. Her reactions were organic and principled, revealing a hardened but understandable heart. Ro only appeared in eight episodes of "Next Generation," but she was always welcome to shake up the system and offer metaphorical headbutts to her commanding officers.

At the start of "Star Trek: Picard," the title character (Patrick Stewart) is living in retirement on his generations-old family vineyard. Although one can replicate synthehol in the future, it's comforting to know that some vintners will still be making wine the old-fashioned way. The full range of wines made at Château Picard hasn't been listed in the official canon of "Star Trek," but sharp-eyed Trekkies have noted that characters have been seen drinking a Château Picard Bordeaux and bottles labeled Château La Barre. Thanks to enterprising booze-hounds, real-life bottles of Château Picard can be purchased online. The Klingon blood wine is actually just a cabernet sauvignon.
Given that the Picard family had been in the wine-making business for centuries, one might assume that Château Picard is very fine indeed, exploring and idly conquering the palate like Alexander the Great. Like Picard himself, I imagine Château Picard to be dry and complex,...

At the very end of the first season of "Star Trek: Picard," after the story had concluded and everyone was headed back home, the violent bounty hunter Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) and Admiral Picard's close friend Raffi (Michelle Hurd) sat idly conversing. They reached out and began romantically holding hands, implying that the characters were initiating a romance. Previously throughout "Star Trek," both Seven and Raffi had only been seen having romances with men, so their respective bisexuality came as a pleasant surprise.
Sadly, at the start of the second season of "Picard," enough time had passed that Seven and Raffi had already dated for a while ... and had broken up. There was now a great deal of romantic resentment between them, and they had to struggle to fulfill their mission in the 21st century (the second season featured a time travel plot). The third season of "Star Trek: Picard," overseen by showrunner Terry Matalas, ended with an intriguing new setup. After the season's story had concluded, the action fast-forwarded one year to when Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers) had become a provisionary ensign in Starfleet. Jack, with his father (Patrick Stewart) and mother (Gates McFadden), took a good long gander at his new assignment, the Titan-a, newly rechristened the Enterprise-g. This new ship was to be captained by Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), formerly the first officer on board the Titan-a, and the vessel was poised to go on its first deep-space mission with its new name.
Also on board were Raffi (Michelle Hurd), Seven's ex-girlfriend and also her first officer, as well as former Titan crewmembers Lieutenant Matthew Arliss Mura (Joseph Lee), Ensign Kova Rin Esmar (Jin Maley), and presumably Dr. Ohk (Tiffany Shepis). In a post-credits stinger after the final "Picard" episode,...

The classic sitcom Bewitched ran for eight seasons and a total of 254 episodes, premiering on September 17, 1964 and wrapping up on March 25, 1972. A spin-off called Tabitha came and went in 1977, then Bewitched received a big screen reboot back in 2005… and in recent years, Sony has shown that they’re very eager to reboot the property again. Back in 2018, it was announced that Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and writer Yamara Taylor were working on a TV series reboot that would give the concept “an interracial twist”. That didn’t go anywhere. In 2021, it was reported that Terry Matalas (MacGyver) and Travis Fickett (12 Monkeys) had been hired to write the screenplay for a new Bewitched movie. That never made it into production… and apparently the idea has been abandoned, because now Deadline has learned that writer/producer Judalina Neira has signed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television that’s focused on developing...

This post contains spoilers for Star Trek: Picard season 3.
But what about Alexander?
Sure, the third season of Star Trek: Picard gave Star Trek fans everything that we wanted to see, from the Enterprise-d crew reunited on a restored version of that beloved ship to a reconciliation between Jean-Luc Picard and Ro Laren. But for all the good done in the series, Picard‘s third season never answered the big question on the mind of every Trekkie: what about Alexander, the son left to, and often ignored by, Worf after the death of his mother K’Ehleyr?
If Picard showrunner Terry Matalas gets a chance to make his ideal spinoff series, Star Trek: Legacy, we would finally get the answers we want, and frankly, deserve.
Matalas shared his idea during the Trek Talks 3 telethon, a charity event to raise money for the Hollywood Food Coalition. During a panel reuniting the...

This Star Trek: Picard article contains spoilers.
Do you remember how great it felt when Jean-Luc Picard stepped onto the bridge of the restored USS Enterprise-d, with all the members of his senior staff around him and ready for one last adventure? Remember how much better that was than watching Icheb from Voyager get mutilated or watching Picard ride dune buggies in Star Trek: Nemesis? Patrick Stewart does not.
In a recent interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Stewart talked about an upcoming Star Trek movie centered on at least part of the Star Trek: The Next Generation cast. “I heard only last night about a script that is being written, but written specifically with the actor, Patrick, to play in it,” Stewart told host Josh Horowitz. “And I’ve been told to expect to receive it within a week or so.”

"Star Trek: Picard" shares more than a little DNA with "12 Monkeys." In its third season, the recently ended "Trek" sequel series was captained by showrunner Terry Matalas, who co-created the wild Syfy Channel adaptation of Terry Gilliam's also-wild film. Aside from a shared showrunner, "Star Trek: Picard" was home to several key cast and crew members who worked on both shows – and nearly featured one more.
In a Reddit Ama about the show's third season, user Drewski1138 pointed out several narrative choices in "Picard" that echoed "12 Monkeys," including references to a mysterious red realm, a new drug called "Splinter" (a reference to "12 Monkeys" time travel), and more. "Were there any '12 Monkeys' Easter eggs we might have missed ... Were there any that you were told you couldn't put in?" the user asked Matalas. The answer? The third season of "Star Trek: Picard" reunited the cast of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" for one final adventure that gave fans a satisfying conclusion to the beloved TV series, and part of that meant returning to the bridge of one of the franchise's most well-known ships. In the penultimate episode, engineer Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton) reveals that he's been restoring the Enterprise-d himself. The ship's former crew need a vessel that's not hooked up to Starfleet systems, and the D is perfect because of its retro technology. Even those who found the farewell to "Next Gen" a little too full of fan-service had to be somewhat excited to see the old gang back on the bridge of a ship not seen since "Star Trek Generations." For many sci-fi nerds of a certain age, the Enterprise-d feels like a second home, and it's joyous to see that some things don't ever change,...

In the third and final season of "Star Trek: Picard," a vicious Changeling named Captain Vadic (Amanda Plummer) is eager to apprehend Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers), the son of Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart). Vadic is a vicious killer who has no compunction about blowing up ships and murdering thousands. It seems she and several of her Changeling compatriots were medically tortured during the Dominion War (a conflict dramatized on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine") and was in no mood to offer forgiveness. Vadic commanded a starship she called the Shrike, a massive, pointy, claw-like vessel that was armed to the teeth. Captain Riker (Jonathan Frakes) took one look at the Shrike and declared it to be more guillotine than starship.
On the bridge of the Shrike, Vadic sat in an enormous chair, surrounded in the shadows by masked servants who fired weapons and cut down enemy combatants. The chair, as it so happens,...

At the conclusion of the third season of "Star Trek: Picard," after the villains had been defeated, showrunner Terry Matalas had properly and carefully set up another "Star Trek" spinoff series, should Paramount+ have wanted it. Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) had received a posthumous recommendation for a captaincy from her late commanding officer Liam Shaw (Todd Stashwick) and was put in command of the U.S.S. Titan-a, now newly rechristened the U.S.S. Enterprise-g. One can perhaps assume that the rechristening was a special favor for the aging Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) now over 100 and happy to have a legacy.
Also serving on the Enterprise-g were a raft of characters seen throughout "Picard," most notably Seven's ex-girlfriend Raffi (Michelle Hurd), who would serve as her first officer. While the first two seasons of Star Trek: Picard didn’t win praise from every fan, it’s safe to say that the recent third season was a home run. Patrick Stewart had initially resisted turning the series into a Next Generation reunion, but showrunner Terry Matalas made it work in a way that felt organic. There have been rumblings of a Star Trek: Picard spin-off, but Patrick Stewart has something else in mind… a Star Trek: Picard movie.
“I am gently pushing Paramount to let us do one single Picard movie,” Patrick Stewart wrote in Time. “Not a Next Generation movie, as we have already done four of those. This would be an expansion and deepening of the universe as we’ve seen it in Star Trek: Picard. I’ve discussed this with Jonathan [Frakes], Brent [Spiner], and LeVar [Burton], and they are all game.” Stewart added that if the Star Trek: Picard movie does happen,...

You know, it's pretty refreshing to see the tireless and constantly put-together crew of the USS Enterprise let their hair down sometimes (so to speak) and blow off some steam while on the clock. Tales of the cast of "The Next Generation" goofing off between takes of the original show are practically the stuff of legend, all but driving directors mad with their unparalleled ability to flub lines, break props, and otherwise waste hours and hours of shooting days. So when "Star Trek: Picard" showrunner Terry Matalas gathered the cast together for one final swan song in season 3 of the reunion series, everyone involved simply had to know what they were in for this time around. Now, Trekkies are finally getting a sense of just how infectious their fun-loving and joyful chemistry truly was while on set.

After two divisive seasons, the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard was a welcome return to form for many fans. Not only did the show bring back the original cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation, but it also included appearances from other Star Trek characters from across the franchise. The Star Trek: Picard writers obviously couldn’t include everyone they wanted, but they did give serious thought to including Jake Sisko (Cirroc Lofton), son of Deep Space Nine’s Captain Benjamin Sisko.

The third season of "Star Trek: Picard" began in a very tantalizing place. It seemed that Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), likely over 100 years old, was ready to sell all his belongings and abandon any notion of legacy. He wasn't ready to let his home become a museum of his past, eager to start a new adventure. Picard was still friends with his old first officer Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes), now a retired captain, possibly in his late 80s. Both characters had grown up considerably since the events of "Star Trek: The Next Generation," and they had both developed an affable, friendly rapport that they never had when locked into their professional positions. They had always been work friends, but now they were real friends.
Early scenes in the season saw Picard and Riker drinking together in a bar, chatting about how modern Starfleet is so much more energetic than they are.

There's one pressing question on the minds of every Trekkie out there: What do we have to do to convince Paramount to give the "Strange New Worlds" writers 20+ episodes so they can fully wild out and throw every zany concept they have at us for as long as possible? Okay, maybe there are two questions, the second of which might be even more important: When are we finally going to get a "Star Trek: Legacy" series?
Season 3 of "Picard," which turned into an extended reunion special with Patrick Stewart and almost the entire cast of "The Next Generation," quickly led to calls from fans who wanted to experience more adventures of the crew of the USS Titan-a. Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: there’s some bad news for Star Trek fans. No, we’re not talking about the galling cancelation and removal of Star Trek: Prodigy from the Paramount+ streaming service, although that is indeed bad news.
We’re talking about the hopes some fans had that Star Trek: Picard would lead to more adventures featuring the crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation. After holding off a full reunion for two seasons, the third season of Picard brought the one-time captain back with his most famous senior officers, along with surprise appearances from the likes of Ro Laren and Elizabeth Shelby. The result was an utterly delightful season of television, one that certainly touched on previous adventures, but also created new dynamics and introduced new characters.

During a recent Gold Derby video interview, senior editor Daniel Montgomery and contributor Tony Ruiz spoke in-depth with Patrick Stewart (“Star Trek: Picard”) about his Paramount Plus sci-fi drama, which is eligible at the 2023 Emmys. While the final season finds Stewart’s iconic character, Jean-Luc Picard, in the comfort of working with his old crew, the admiral is far from comfortable. He deals with the sudden discovery that he has a grown son (Ed Speleers) with Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden) that he must protect from Vadic (Amanda Plummer), a vengeance-seeking Changeling hell bent on capturing Picard’s son.
“It was in every sense, an extraordinary experience,” Stewart revealed about his three-season return to the world of “Star Trek.” The legendary actor later added, “And although I had serious doubts to begin with, at the end, I regretted nothing.

Star Trek might be about a future in which humanity has put aside its petty differences, but Star Trek fandom is all about squabbles. Is Picard a better captain than Kirk? Are the Kelvin-verse movies fun popcorn movies or Star Wars in a Trek skin? Is there too much crying in Star Trek: Discovery? But for all of their disagreements, nearly all Star Trek fans can unite around their feelings about season one of Star Trek: The Next Generation: it stinks.
Turns out, those opinions are shared by the Tng cast. Over thirty-five years later, the cast has completed six more mostly great seasons of the series, four movies of varying quality, and an excellent reunion season of Star Trek: Picard, but they still look back in embarrassment at their first voyage on the starship Enterprise.

A franchise that’s producing as much as “Star Trek” is right now shouldn’t be this good.
A year ago, “Strange New Worlds” debuted and delivered the best first season of a “Trek” show since “The Original Series.” Then “Picard” ended on a soaring and soulful note, leaving fans desperate for more. And now “Strange New Worlds” is back for Season 2, delivering the kind of character-driven episodic sci-fi that now seems downright revolutionary in the serialized streaming era.
Each one of these has been better than the last.
Somehow franchise overlord Alex Kurtzman has unlocked the secret to both quantity and quality, something which has eluded that other space-bound saga in its own streaming era. He seems to have done it by simply trusting his showrunners: Terry Matalas for “Picard” and Akiva Goldsman (never better) and Henry Alonso Myers for “Strange New Worlds.”
The result, in “Strange New Worlds...

The final scenes of "Star Trek: Picard" saw Captain Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) commanding the newly christened Enterprise-g (previously the Titan-a), taking her ship out on a brand new exploratory mission, exhilaratingly adding to the "Star Trek" legacy. Her first officer was her ex-girlfriend Commander Musiker (Michelle Hurd), and the ship is being piloted by Ensign La Forge (Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut) Geordi's daughter. Notably, Jean-Luc Picard's son Jack (Ed Speleers) sat at the captain's left hand serving as her special council.
Just before leaping to warp, the crew turns to their captain in expectation, wondering how she's going to give the order to activate the engines. Picard previously said "Engage" on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," as well as "Make it so." Other captains have adopted other dramatic phrases such as "Let's punch it" (Pike in the 2009 "Star Trek" film) or "I would like the ship to go.

It seems like Jean-Luc Picard never learns. At the end of the Star Trek: The Next Generation finale “All Good Things…”, the Captain finally joins his senior officers of the USS Enterprise for a game of cards. “I should have done this a long time ago,” he admits with some resignation.
But when the Captain returned to screens for Star Trek: Picard, after a twenty-year absence following the dismal final Tng movie Star Trek: Nemesis, he didn’t bring his old crew with him. Sure, Data, Riker, and Troi dropped by for an episode or two, but Picard spent most of his time with a new renegade gang. It wasn’t until Picard hit its third and final season that the Captain was rejoined by his most famous crew.

This story about “Picard” originally appeared in the Race Begins issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
In 1994, after its seventh and final season, “Star Trek: The Next Generation” was nominated for its lone Best Drama Series Emmy. Patrick Stewart, who anchored the show as Captain Jean-Luc Picard, remembers the nomination well. It was the same year he got a SAG Award nomination.
“Those two were the only two (above-the-line) nominations that we got,” Stewart said. “Next Generation” was nominated for several Creative Arts Emmys—for crafts like makeup, cinematography, sound mixing and more—but was otherwise consistently overlooked. “The fact that Brent Spiner was never acknowledged in that way for his extraordinary work playing an android for seven seasons. And Jonathan (Frakes) and LeVar (Burton) and Marina (Sirtis). We got used to it. We knew there was going to be no acknowledgment…until the very last season.” Which is exactly what happened.
