Joan Collins in 'The Bitch': Sex tale based on younger sister Jackie Collins' novel. Author Jackie Collins dead at 77: Surprisingly few film and TV adaptations of her bestselling novels Jackie Collins, best known for a series of bestsellers about the dysfunctional sex lives of the rich and famous and for being the younger sister of film and TV star Joan Collins, died of breast cancer on Sept. 19, '15, in Los Angeles. The London-born (Oct. 4, 1937) Collins was 77. Collins' tawdry, female-centered novels – much like those of Danielle Steel and Judith Krantz – were/are immensely popular. According to her website, they have sold more than 500 million copies in 40 countries. And if the increasingly tabloidy BBC is to be believed (nowadays, Wikipedia has become a key source, apparently), every single one of them – 32 in all – appeared on the New York Times' bestseller list. (Collins' own site claims that a mere 30 were included.) Sex...

Both Stephen Colbert and Craig Ferguson said goodbye to their long-running late-night TV talk shows on Thursday, though CBS waited an extra day to air the latter.
At their respective Thursday tapings, “The Colbert Report” and Comedy Central went with a celebrity-filled version of Vera Lynn’s “We’ll Meet Again.” Meanwhile, Ferguson opened his last “Late Show” ever with a combination pre-taped and live “Bang Your Drum.” The taped parts had a ton of famous faces in it, while the live closing included a choir and Ferguson’s most-beloved nutty characters.

If you did not watch the final episode of The Colbert Report last night, then we probably can’t be friends. But if you didn’t, or even if you did, shortly after Stephen Colbert killed Grimmy the Grim Reaper and became immortal, he started a sincere and touching celebrity sing-a-long featuring just about every celebrity or previous guest on The Colbert Report ever (my apologies to Doris Kearns Goodwin). Even Smaug the dragon showed up following his appearance on last week’s Colbert. Led by Randy Newman, the group sang the old World War II song “We’ll Meet Again”. The A.V. Club has a running list of every celebrity that appeared.
Watch the video again below, and let’s all have one last salute and moment of silence for this great show, character and institution.

Popular stalwart of film classics such as The Browning Version and Fanny By Gaslight
Jean Kent, the fiery, sexy, red-haired bad girl of British movies in the 1940s, who has died aged 92, was a fine actor, and clearly enjoyed life, her work and – while it lasted – her cinema fame. While never a top star, she gained a considerable following, and from the 1960s appeared regularly on television. Her film breakthrough came as a result of stage work: after the revue Apple Sauce, starring Vera Lynn and Max Miller, reached the London Palladium in 1941, she was offered a long-term contract, and the first of her Gainsborough Pictures appearances came in It's That Man Again (1943), with another wartime entertainer, the radio comic Tommy Handley.

While many Castle fans at this instant have baby on the brain — tonight’s episode (ABC, 10/9c) thrusts Rick and Kate into the role of accidental nannies — some still are dwelling on the questions raised by last week’s “Disciple,” in which Jerry Tyson aka 3Xk/The Triple Killer in some form or fashion rose from the dead to unleash a new reign of terror.
On the heels of that thrilling, tense hour, TVLine asked series creator Andrew W. Marlowe to offer insight on the serial killer’s improbable encore (is Dr. Kelly Niemann merely executing kills in his stead,...

Well done, show. Well done.
I had my eye on Monday night’s episode of Castle for a few reasons — the biggest of which being that I loved the idea that a killer had seemingly created physical clones of Lanie and Espo. (!!) What was the killer’s connection to them? What was his or her evil angle? Would this new, totally twisted person get nabbed during the hour or be around for a while?
The answer: This person’s already been around for a while.
It was all the work of 3Xk.

The week on ABC’s Castle, Kate, Rick et al found themselves twin piqued by serial murders that hit wayyyy close to home and left a trail of clues pointing to the impossible-ish.

Mary Byrne has admitted that she got so upset on last week’s X Factor show, because her emotional ballad made her think of her late mum and dad.
The mum of one was visibly shaken after her rendition of ‘There You’ll Be’ from the American war movie ‘Pearl Harbour.’ The performance was below par and afterwards she admitted:
I don’t know. I haven’t been in the zone at all this week. I’m quite low, and lonely for my daughter. I’m very nervous tonight and I don’t know why.
Speaking in her official video diary this week, the Dublin singer confessed that she ‘couldn’t believe’ how sad she felt on the show. She said:

36 year old Hayashi scared the pants off Simon Cowell tonight as he attempted to perform what he claimed was one of the most dangerous acts ever seen on British television.
Simon buzzed him off before he even got started and we even saw the hint of a medic in the far corner of the stage. Basically, After attaching cucumbers to poor Ben’s head, Hayashi was blindfolded and began chopping the vegetables willy nilly with his huge samurai sword. Simon looked terrified throughout and you could almost see him calculating the huge insurance payout if it all went wrong.
Piers called him “very dangerous and compelling to watch” while Simon askd him how he could make it more interesting. Despite his grumping, Simon made it three yeses.

Mum and Dad are backstage to give a very nervous Olivia the support she needs and they both hope she can impress the judges and conquer her nerves.
Olivia tells the judges she’s going to sing In The Arms Of An Angel by Sarah McLaughlan

Two best friends are hoping to put the North-East on the Britain’s Got Talent map tomorrow night.
The girls tell Ant & Dec:
“I’m Ruth (16yrs old) and I’m Chantelle (age 18yrs old) and together we’re Different Dreams”
“We’ve become best friends, I met her one day at a bus stop and slowly we became best friends”
“We always rehearse at my house, my Mums deaf so she’s not bothered by it, we like to sing all the classics – Barbara Streisand, Gloria Gaynor and my personal favourite Elaine Paige” says Chantelle
They walk out on stage to meet the judges
Simon – We are you called Different Dreams?
Chantelle – Well, we are different people but the dream is the same and we’re best friends
They start to sing I Know Him So Well by Barbara Dickson and Elaine Paige but will the judges like their rendition?...

During all the furore surrounding her act on last week’s Britain’s Got Talent, we somehow missed the fact that Tia Brodie is actually not a bad singer.
Tia impressed Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell on Saturday night’s show as she stripped to the waist and began passing naked flames over her equally naked skin (see the video here). Distracted by all that bare skin, we barely noticed that Tia was singing too, but she was and the clip below of Tia in another talent contest shows that she’s actually not too bad on the vocal front.
Are you hoping to see Tia in the live semi finals of Britain’s Got Talent? If she makes it maybe she should sing instead of stripping..it might be a more viable career choice!

Young Chloe Hickinbottom impresses with Vera Lynn song
The mum of Britain’s Got Talent hopeful Chloe Hickinbottom has revealed that she hasn’t seen her daughter in more than a year.
The ten year old wowed Piers Morgan, Amanda Holden and Louis Walsh (who was standing in for an ill Simon Cowell) with her rendition of Vera Lynn’s ‘White Cliffs Of Dover’ (watch the video here). However, Simon Cowell said if he had been there he would have made her sing something more modern.
Lucy Bray, 29, has admitted that she hasn’t set eyes on Chloe or any of her three sisters since they moved in with their dad last year. In fact she didn’t even know that Chloe had tried out for the ITV TV show, until she read it in a newspaper the day before it aired.

Britain’s Got Talent hopeful Jono Miles has revealed that he is following in the footsteps of his opera star dad Alastair Miles.
Jono fronted classical group ‘The Arrangement’, who impressed Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan on Saturday night’s talent show (video here). But he has since admitted that he didn’t start singing until he was 15 years old.
He said: “I only started lessons a couple of years ago. I heard my dad doing it round the house and so I tried it.”

Lady Gaga impersonator Maxxie Oliver may not have impressed Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell on tonight’s show, but the gay performer from London is sure that he would be able to impress the Queen.
Telling the judges that:
“When I dress up as Lady Gaga I feel beautiful and I just feel like her. I feel I am Lady Gaga not Maxxie.”
Maxxie went on to perform a whole medley of Gaga songs but Simon Cowell wasn’t a fan and he blasted the singer saying:
“Maybe when you first appeared on stage there could have been a little bit of confusion between you and Lady Gaga. And then you started singing. The singing just got worse as it went along. It was just awful, awful, awful. Furthermore, if we’ve already got Lady Gaga why do we need you?”

Britain’s Got Talent hopeful Christopher Stone has revealed that his Dad once sold his house to pay his fees in music college and admitted that he hopes to win the ITV1 show and repay him for his sacrifice.
Christopher gave us the closest thing to a Susan Boyle moment that we have had on this latest series of Got Talent, when he took to the stage looking very ordinary – then impressed the judges and audience alike with his incredible rendition of West Side Story’s ‘Maria.’
Revealing that he owes everything to his parents, Chris told The Daily Star:
“My dad sold his house when I was 16 so he could afford to put me into music school and then university.
“He sold a lovely three-bedroom semi with a big garden and moved into a small, two-bedroom flat above an Indian takeaway so I could follow my dream.

Acrobatic gymnasts Spellbound wowed the judges and audience on tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent show and we have been inundated with emails from people who were amazed by their act. The crew have since revealed that they want to follow in the footsteps of former show winners, Diversity and want to act as positive role models to the younger generation.
Amanda Holden described the group’s performance as “faultless”, while Piers Morgan talked about “this thrilling conclusion that had this whole theatre going crazy”.
Their 24-year-old leader Alex Uttley told The News Of The World:
He said: “I hope we can be good role models and show kids can reach their dreams.”
We think that Spellbound could go far on this year’s Bgt and would love to see them in the live semi-finals. Will you be voting for the team if they do? Leave your comments below.

Simon Cowell can spot talent when he sees it and we have to wonder if he knew that Britain’s Got Talent hopeful Tia Brodie was more than just a variety act?

Gymnastic troupe Spellbound put on an amazing show on tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent. I’m talking about some gymnastic feats I’ve never seen the like of before – shows of bodily strength and dexterity that mean, for once, a Bgt act lives up to its name. They actually used a girl’s body as a skipping rope! Amazing. The crowd went crazy! Spellbound, you saved this show!
Amanda Holden described the group’s performance as “faultless”, Piers Morgan talked about “this thrilling conclusion that had this whole theatre going crazy”. Three yeses from the judges and Take That’s Rule The World to lift our spirits even further.

Meet The Regurgitator. Stevie Starr, who swallows large objects and lets us listen to them rattling around in his stomach. Betcha he’s a real hit with the ladies. Hell, he can even regurgitate on demand. Now that’s a talent! Still, you have to wonder how many times he’s been hospitalised practising that act…
Piers Morgan called it “pretty compelling to watch” and Simon Cowell earned a fantastic story from him – when he was a child in a children’s home, he used to swallow his money to protect it. Maybe he’s Scottish!

As the Britain’s Got Talent auditions rolled into Manchester, first up was someone who knows you’ve got to have an extra special talent if you stand a chance from getting a yes from the Judges, so she’s come with not one, not two but three of them.
She said: “My name is Christine, I’m 51 and I’m from Leeds. I’m going to be doing a triple threat today. I’m singing, I’m dancing and I’m playing all at the same time”
Ant & Dec like her triple threat plan and wonder how she achieves this, “With lots of hard work and practice”, Christine explained.
Christine came face to face with the judges and explained that in five years time she wants to have, “…a record, or several, globally. I want to take over the world”.

Star the pig makes her TV debut on tomorrow night’s Britain’s Got Talent but unfortunately for her owner, a bad case of stage fright ruins the porker’s shot at fame.
Star’s owner tells Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden that her pig ‘does tricks’ but at the first opportunity, Star rushes off stage and proceeds to terrorise poor Ant McPartlin who was waiting in the wings.
Other rubbish animal acts tomorrow night will include a painfully slow snail race and the biggest horse Simon has ever seen who leaves the biggest poo right in the middle of the stage.
A gagging Ant and Dec inform the owner that it’s the first poo we’ve had on stage, with Ant adding “I’ve been close but I’ve always made it backstage in time!”

Before singing he tells the judges:
“When I dress up as Lady Gaga I feel beautiful and I just feel like her. I feel I am Lady Gaga not Maxxie.”
He then launches into a very unique Lady Gaga medley.
Maxxie quickly wins the audience’s support but head judge Simon Cowell is not convinced.
He says:
“Maybe when you first appeared on stage there could have been a little bit of confusion between you and Lady Gaga. And then you started singing. The singing just got worse as it went along. It was just awful, awful, awful. Furthermore, if we’ve already got Lady Gaga why do we need you?”

Simon Cowell’s Britain’s Got Talent is set to make a whopping £10,000 per second during it’s 2010 series.
ITV bosses are said to be charging £300,000 for a 30 second slot during the final show, with similar length ads in the audition shows selling for £100,000.
Revealing that the series could rake in around £75 million throughout April and May, a source told The Mirror:
“When you have audiences of up to 20 million, it’s an ad man’s dream. There is no secret Cowell has the Midas touch and it seems he has turned the show into pure gold for ITV.”
One buyer said: “The question on everyone’s lips is whether the show will find another Susan Boyle this year. Last year’s final was selling at £250,000 at the height of the recession. ITV know they have a hit and are going to milk it.”

Despite Saturday temperatures reaching high of 18.4°C, fans of the show tuned in to see young Chloe Hickinbottom wow the judges and gorgeous Tobias Mead make the ladies of Britain swoon.
The ratings are the highest yet for a Bgt launch show, meaning that the variety extravaganza is well on track for beating it’s amazing figure of 19 million viewers for it’s final show in 2009.
On hearing the news, judge Amanda Holden told The Sun: “Oh my god! Twelve million, that’s amazing in this hot weather.
“I’m so pleased the public are happy to have Bgt back on our screens.”
After Thursday’s Leaders’ Debate attracted just 9.4 million viewers, Piers Morgan added: “I am very pleased to discover that Simon,...

22 year old Tobias Mead gave us a pretty smooth dance routine on tonight’s Britain’s Got Talent show, including a very clever backwards performance as The Joker from Batman.
For once Simon Cowell looked genuinely impressed while Amanda Holden noted that “it was like your body was made out of liquid or something”. Piers Morgan was of course a little underwhelmed. He and Amanda had a little handbag fight for a minute, but Simon Cowell gushes:
“Every so often someone comes along who is just brilliant! You are really really super talented! People will like you, girls will love you. Easiest yes I’ve given today!”
And everybody’s agreed: Tobias is through.

Ten year old Chloe Hickinbottom took the Britain’s Got Talent judges by surprise this year, when she showed up to the Birmingham auditions and wowed them with an emotional rendition of an old Vera Lynn number.
After admitting that she doesn’t like the judges buzzers and that if she won she would spend the £100,000 prize money on tutus and leggings from Primark, Chloe gave a beautiful vocal performance of ‘The White Cliffs Of Dover.’
After she sang Amanda Holden gushed:
‘I definitely wasn’t expecting that! You have a beautifully old fashioned voice!’
Louis Walsh (who was standing in for a sick Simon Cowell) added:
‘You were born to sing! I think you’re fantastic, you could sell records. The best today so far!’
Piers Morgan added:
“You have an extraordinary voice, “I’ve never heard anything like that. You could be 40 or 50 years old. I have never heard anything like that.
