Steve Bannon once got top billing within Donald Trump‘s administration and served at the embattled president’s side during the early days of his leadership. Now, Bannon is saying goodbye to the White House.
“White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and Steve Bannon have mutually agreed today would be Steve’s last day,” Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed in a statement on Friday. “We are grateful for his service and wish him the best.”
The news came as a shock to some considering the former Breitbart News executive chairman had served as the White House Chief Strategist and Trump’s senior counselor.

One of the many Stephen King projects that are currently in development is a series adaptation of Mr. Mercedes, which is described by the author as a "hardboiled detective tale." Today we have some photos that give us our first look at the series along with a premiere date, which will take place on August 9th and 8pm on At&T Now's Audience Network.
The series comes from screenwriter David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies) and director Jack Bender (Game of Thrones). The two main cast members of the series include Harry Treadaway, Brendan Gleeson, and Mary Louise-Parker. Here's the synopsis:
Based on Stephen King’s 2014 book, “Mr. Mercedes” follows demented killer Brady Hartsfield (Treadaway), who taunts a retired police detective Bill Hodges (Gleeson) with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice...

Yet another Stephen King novel is set to get the TV treatment. While folks may be more dead set on seeing some of Stephen King’s older work — like It, The Dark Tower, Firestarter, or The Mist — on the big and small screen, we can’t forget that the dude’s been writing pretty great novels in recent years as well. Most recently, King’s put out a trilogy of hard-boiled detective novels. The stories started with Mr. Mercedes, continued with Finder Keepers, and concluded with End of Watch.
We’ve known for some time that the first book would be adapted for the small screen, but after being announced, back-burnered, and then brought back to the fold, it became easy to lose track over what the actual status of the project was. Now, Audience Network has announced that the 10-episode limited series has a premiere date of Wednesday, August...

Golden Exits. © Sean Price Williams“No soul or locale is too humble,” John Updike wrote, “to be the site of entertaining and instructive fiction.” Which is a good thing for Nick, the nominal hero of Alex Ross Perry’s new film Golden Exits. The mild, meek, nearly-fifty archivist, played with greying dignity by former Beastie Boy Adam Horovitz, lives a pinched and incapacious existence, toiling ten hours a day hunched behind the desk of a basement office only a few blocks away from his Brooklyn apartment. It’s a spartan, closed-loop life, and Nick thinks it’s “thrilling”—which it becomes for a time, when a 25-year-old assistant arrives from Australia and threatens to disrupt it. Golden Exits is about that threat. Or more precisely, it is a film about what happens when order and routine are besieged by the promise of change—when the life one has accepted is beleaguered by temptation,...

Previously on The Vampire Diaries, it was revealed that Rayna has 12 lives. She is down to her last one. There had been a plan to kill her, but that would also kill anyone who she had marked -- like Stefan. Nora and Mary Louise killed themselves in a fiery car crash destroying the Phoenix Stone. This released all of the trapped souls throwing them into random bodies. The gang was able to save Stefan, reuniting his soul and body before it was too late.
Bonnie was doing recon in a mental hospital to find out why the Armory is after her. She got one of the patients to explain there is a vault under the Armory that only a Bennett witch can open. Damon came to see her, and she slammed the door in his face -- after finding out she's dying from magic-blocking pills Enzo has been shoving down her throat.

Many might think Elena was the core of The Vampire Diaries and while I won’t disagree that something’s been missing without her, I still would argue that the Salvatore brothers are the heart and soul of the show. This episode especially revisits the bond between brothers through a few key scenes. Last week Nora and Mary Louise drove their car off the road, taking Rayna’s Phoenix stone sword with them. Stefan had already been stabbed by Rayna at that point so his soul was trapped in the stone again and the rest of us were left utterly confused as to

Things have become quite chilly between the Heretics on The Vampire Diaries following Lily’s death in last week’s episode, which is quite fitting since tomorrow’s midseason finale is titled “Cold As Ice.” So just how frosty is the new dynamic between the witchy vampires? This sneak peek from tomorrow’s The Vampire Diaries features Mary Louise and Valerie and makes it pretty darn clear that this family won’t be getting repaired anytime soon. In the clip below, Mary Louise confronts Valerie about her accusations against Julian, asking why she’s taken so long to finally speak up about them. She also tries to find out all the information she can on Nora, but Valerie won’t give her any, causing Mary Louise to lash out. “You know, I always thought you were the nice one and that you had a heart deep down,” Valerie says to her.

The heretics are throwing a party in this Vampire Diaries episode, "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me," and that can only mean bad news for pretty much anyone who is invited or shows up. But will it also be the perfect place to get rid of Julian?
In this episode, Julian and Lily throw a party celebrating Mary Louise and Nora's anniversary, and Stefan and Damon set a risky plan in motion to eliminate a new threat posed by Julian. Meanwhile, Caroline has to face her new reality and what that could mean for her relationship with Stefan. Also, Lily makes the most difficult decision of her life.
