A New fantasy drama called Psience, described as Harry Potter meets Big Brother, has been launched.
The new web-based series is set in an Orwellian world where young 20-something sorcerers - or psientists as they are called - hone their magic skills in the heart of a large urban centre.
Psience uses a new format called an issue - a short but complete story arc. The seasons/issues are broken down into 5 or 6 episodes, each of which is between three and seven minutes long. Psience is being released through Blip TV, which specialises in web series.
The show follows five new student psientists as they adapt to life in The Co-op, a magical urban enclave. "Psience" is a new mystery web-series that premiered April 18th online. It is an intensely character driven drama about five young adults recruited to become special “magic welding” individuals. Simply known a psientists, their training is nothing like what an apprentice would normally learn from a master of the arts.
Instead, they are on their own. They have to discover what their true potential is from within and Brett (Christina Schimmel), a fully indoctrinated psientist, will help guide them. But there is more to this teacher than a meets the eye.
The title is an apt play with two words that describes two realms of disciplinary study—psychic development and scientific investigation. With the former, the learning is all about intuition. Until everyone can telekinetically move the pinwheel, they cannot symbolically progress to the next level. For the latter, hypothesis and conclusive results are required to achieve success.
