CBS has ordered additional episodes of all five of its freshman series. Drama Evil, which was designed to produce 13-episode seasons, has been renewed for a second season to premiere in 2020-2021. New drama All Rise and comedies Carol’s Second Act, The Unicorn and Bob ♥ Abishola all have received back orders for the 2019-2020 broadcast season.
Per usual, CBS calls them full-season orders, though I hear at least some are partial ones. Like all Chuck Lorre-CBS series, Bob ♥ Abishola is believed to have received a Back 9 pickup; the orders for the others are about five episode each, I hear.
While none has been a breakout hit, CBS’ freshman series have been solid performers in total viewers by this fall’s ratings standards.
Boosted by a delayed viewing bump, Evil, created by Michelle and Robert King, is averaging more than 7.1 million viewers in Nielsen Live+7. The thriller drama will...

After nine seasons on The Middle and Everybody Loves Raymond, Patricia Heaton was asked whether she was looking forward to another nine season run on CBS comedy Carol’s Second Act.
“My perfect scenario, as I see death getting near, is that I’d die on a sound stage, that’s how I want to go. Just as long as I’ve had full hair and make-up,” she jokes.
Heaton was front and center of the show’s TCA summer press tour panel, joking alongside creators Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins and co-stars Kyle MacLachlan, Ito Aghayere, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Sabrina Jalees and Ashley Tisdale.
The show, which is produced by CBS TV Studios in association with Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and Heaton and David Hunt’s FourBoys Entertainment, is based around Carol Chambers (Heaton), who after raising her two children and retiring from teaching, embarks on a unique second...

Patricia Heaton and David Hunt’s FourBoys Entertainment has closed a pod deal with CBS TV Studios. The company is moving to CBS TV Studios after a long stint at Warner Bros. TV, the studio behind the ABC comedy series The Middle, which starred Heaton.
Coming off a nine-year run on The Middle, Heaton is eying a return to TV with a new series. Under the CBS Studios pact, FourBoys will develop and produce new series projects and will be seeking a TV vehicle for Heaton to develop and star in, though her acting services will remain non-exclusive to the studio.
The deal brings Heaton back in the CBS fold after her starring role on Everybody Loves Raymond, which earned her three Emmy awards. The hugely successful family comedy also aired for nine seasons.
Founded in 2001 by husband-and-wife acting duo Heaton and Hunt, FourBoys is named after the couple’s four sons.

Ok, ok, it’s just another TV movie, but we already shared every single thing from Liz & Dick with you guys, so one last poster won’t heart! Looks pretty cool actually! You know, just Grant Bowler kissing Lindsay Lohan‘s neck and stuff like that. I mean, sensual stuff. And of course there’s also a little reminder that the movie will air this Sunday. So, in case you still have any doubts about this project, make sure you read more about the whole thing in the rest of this report…
The movie comes from director Lloyd Kramer, while Christopher Monger stands behind the script which is based on the true story of the couple’s (do I really have to repeat that we’re talking about Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton?) passionate and tumultuous love affair.
Lindsay Lohan stars as the legendary Elizabeth Taylor while Grant Bowler is a celebrated actor Richard Burton.

Lindsay Lohan / Elizabeth Taylor Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime movie Liz & Dick. Lohan, 26 next July 2, plays Elizabeth Taylor (apparently) at about the time she met Richard Burton in the early ’60s. A tabloid queen in her heyday, Elizabeth Taylor won two Best Actress Academy Awards: Daniel Mann’s Butterfield 8, 1960; Mike Nichols’ Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, 1966. Taylor was nominated three other times: Edward Dmytryk’s Raintree County, 1957; Brooks’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,...

Patricia Heaton was reunited with her TV husbands Ray Romano and Neil Flynn as she was handed a Hollywood Walk of Fame honour on Tuesday.
The actress was the recipient of the 2,472nd star and her friends and family, including actor husband David Hunt and their four sons, looked on proudly as she accepted the accolade.
And they weren't the only ones cheering Heaton - her onscreen partners Romano and Flynn, from shows Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle respectively, were also on hand to celebrate with her.
Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa capped the tribute by proclaiming it Patricia Heaton Day in Hollywood, and the actress declared, "I'm overwhelmed. I came to Hollywood 20 years ago at the age of 30. I had no agent and no manager... God opened a door for me and by God I mean Ray Romano."
And in a post on her Twitter.com page, she adds, "What a fun morning! so great to have loved ones gathered together at something other than a funeral!"...
