The cad to end all cads, Sir Harry Paget Flashman, has already stepped once from the pages of George MacDonald Fraser’s work and on to the screen, in the shape of Malcolm McDowell in 1975’s Royal Flash. Thomas Hughes has been promoted to evp of worldwide digital distribution at Lionsgate.
Hughes will continue to report to president of worldwide television and digital distribution Jim Packer and work closely with international television executive Peter Iacono on growing digital and VOD opportunities.
Hughes joined Lionsgate in March 2011 after serving as vp of worldwide digital at MGM for three years.
Senior evp for global policy and external affairs, Michael O’Leary will depart the Motion Picture Association Of America (MPAA) in June after nine years. O’Leary will assume an advisory role and joined the MPAA in 2005.
