- She is the youngest of four children. Her father and two brothers are all London cabbies.

- She was eight months pregnant with her daughter Maggie when she completed filming Tristram Shandy (2005).
- She is best known as the fourth voice of Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider Games. At five games, she has voiced Lara Croft in more Tomb Raider games than any other actress.
- She attended the Sylvia Young Theater School which also produced stars Emma Bunton (Spice Girls) and Nick Berry.
