- Co-wrote two songs for the television series Due South -- "32 Down on the Robert Mackensie" (with Captain Tractor) and "Ride Forever" (with David Keeley). He performed "The Robert Mackensie" with Jay Semko for the episode "Mountie on the Bounty" parts one and two. A music video of this song was produced with singing partner David Keeley, released as a CD single in March of 1998. "Ride Forever" featured in the episode "All the Queen's Horses". This song appears on the Due South soundtrack volume 1.

- Hosted the Annual Gemini Awards for the years 1996-98, the Canadian Country Music Awards for the years 1996-96 and the du Maurier Concert Stage series for the years 1996-97.
- Was nominated for Best Writing in a Dramatic Series (along with John Krizanc and Paul Quarrington) for Due South episode "All the Queen's Horses" in the 1997 Gemini Awards. Paul's episode ("In This Corner") of CBC's For the Record series was nominated for a 1986 Best Television Drama Series award (Geminis). He was also nominated for a Dora Award for his portrayal of Romeo in Romeo and Juliet (1985).
- (May 2000) Starring as The Melancholy Dane in the Canadian Stratford Festival's production of Hamlet until December 2000.
- Performed in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Manitoba Theatre Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1990.
