Whether you asked for it or not, Prime Video’s epic fantasy series based on The Lord of the Rings appendices by legendary author J.R.R. Tolkien is back with its much-anticipated second season. Created by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, The Rings of Power had a pretty turbulent first season even with its massive budget of $1 billion but still it was one of the most watched shows on Prime Video, so maybe this season the creators of the series will change hearts and minds of frustrated fans.
In Season 2, Sauron has officially returned and after being cast out by Galadriel and without any allies he must rebuild his power through his cunning to oversee the creation of the Rings of Power. His ultimate plan with the rings is to bend the people of Middle-earth to his will. While the Dark Lord is rising our heroes are also getting ready for his eventual attack.

Whether you liked it or not, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power became a hit series for Amazon, and it was expected that the series would be renewed for a second season. The series explored the era of Tolkien’s world before the main series, as well as the story of The Hobbit, expanding the universe we’ve already explored earlier. Now, some of the fans weren’t happy with the series in general, but the series has done fairly well and we are now waiting to see where it heads in the upcoming season. The second season will premiere later this year, and Amazon is slowly heating up for the upcoming premiere, which is what we are going to do with this report as well.

7 Sexiest Characters in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - Main Image
In Amazon's The Rings of Power, the stakes are high, the landscapes are epic, and the characters are smouldering. With so many new faces in the adaptation, it's time to break down who brings the heat (and the hotness) to Middle Earth.
From dwarf queens to ethereal elves, they have unique charisma and allure that defines their sexiness. After all, when it comes to Middle Earth, there's more to love than just the One Ring.
7. Halbrand/Sauron
If evil, why hot? When Galadriel's (Morfydd Clark) close companion Halbrand (played by Charlie Vickers) was revealed to be the Dark Lord Sauron in disguise, fans were left torn. Vickers’ charm and sly smile could make anyone overlook the whole “conqueror of Middle Earth" thing.
But even though he has a pretty face, he's still Sauron, the...

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power represents a slew of firsts for J.R.R. Tolkien screen adaptations. It’s the first time fans have seen stories from the Second Age of Middle-earth played out on screen (all previous versions are set in the Third Age), the first time kingdoms and cultures of Tolkienian lore have been seen before their tragic fates befell them, and, in what was particularly exciting for lovers of this world, the first time we’ve seen the Dwarves (including Dwarf women!) at their mightiest in the depths of Khazad-dûm. The rich, thriving culture of the Dwarves, not its tragedies seen in The Fellowship of the Ring and The Hobbit trilogy, is finally shown in detail in the first season of Prime Video‘s fantasy epic, led by Owain Arthur and Sophia Nomvete‘s effortlessly charming Prince Durin IV and Princess Disa. Second only to the Hobbits,...

Fantasy on TV was once the preserve of teen-skewing shows like Xena and Hercules, until Game of Thrones made things bigger but bloodier with its blockbuster eight-year run. Now, however, the genre is expanding in unexpected ways, typified by Amazon’s The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power. Where we might have expected another adaptation about obviously good folk fighting clear evil, the show that emerged offers a look at power, obsession and conflict set thousands of years before J.R.R. Tolkien’s foundational text. After Thrones (and its own prequel), it is a coming-of-age for the genre, proof that fantasy is capable of offering subtlety and complexity as well as large-scale adventure.
The TV spin-off from the most influential fantasy book of all time might have gone any number of ways: there were rumors of a new adaptation of Frodo’s story or a straightforward prequel about a young Aragorn.

Several castmembers from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series have been vocal about the racist backlash they received upon joining the Tolkien universe, and now actress Sophia Nomvete, who plays Disa, is opening up in detail about what that experience was like.
At The Hollywood Reporter’s second annual Raising Our Voices luncheon, sponsored by the Golden Globes, GenSpace and East West Bank, on Wednesday, Nomvete took part in a conversation on “The State of Inclusion in Storytelling,” moderated by Gloria Calderón Kellett. Asked by Calderón Kellett about the negative reaction, Nomvete — whose character is the first female dwarf of color in The Lord of the Rings universe — said her casting “was a huge moment, both personally and professionally. And I think I kind of skipped in naively thinking that it’s gonna be great. I’m a dwarf, it’s gonna be such fun.”

Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will sparkle much more when it returns. Morfydd Clark revealed Galadriel will be among the characters to receive a special piece of jewelry in Season 2.
“She’s about to have a life-changing thing happen to her. She’s about to become acquainted with Nenya, her ring. It’s really exciting to see how the magic creeps in,” Clark said at the show’s FYC event in Hollywood on Sunday speaking alongside her castmates who are all on break from shooting in the UK.
The three elven rings were forged in the Season 1 finale of the fantasy series, set a thousand years before the events in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord Of the Rings and The Hobbit, by Celebrimbor with the help of Sauron (as Halbrand).

If the first season of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" strayed too far from J.R.R. Tolkien's gospels for you (and you're not a racist or a troll), it sounds like some good news is on the horizon: Season 2 of the series is already in development, and it's set to hew more closely to the author's vast canon than the first eight episodes.
This promise of more canon-compliance comes straight from showrunner Patrick McKay, who stopped by The Official Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Podcast to talk about the finale and what's still to come for the massive series, which already has a multi-season plan mapped out. Host Felicia Day spoke with McKay and co-showrunner J.D. Payne about season 2, and McKay revealed that it will pull more directly from the texts.

Where is Sauron? Is the Stranger actually our beloved wizard Gandalf the Grey? When will The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power introduce some actual magical rings?
These were some of the questions on the minds of fans awaiting the season one finale of the prequel series, which chronicles the events of the Second Age, the era before the J.R.R. Tolkien books and Peter Jackson movies you know and love. Fortunately, the finale addresses many of the show’s biggest mysteries, and in captivating fashion. While some questions have been left hanging for season two to deal with — what’s up with the Balrog now awake inside Khazad-dum? — it’s safe to say we get more than our fair share of answers.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power finale.] The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power finale unveiled its ultimate villain. The episode premiered Friday, October 14 on Prime Video, and as the trailer promised, evil did indeed reveal itself. It was so packed with new information, there was no time for appearances from Arondir, Bronwyn, Theo, Prince Durin, and Princess Disa, or even an update on Isildur. While we know he can’t be dead because of the character’s importance in the story’s future, learning what happened to Isildur after the eruption of Mount Doom will have to wait until Season 2. We get short appearances from Elendil (Lloyd Owen) and Queen Regent Míriel (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), as well as Pharazôn (Trystan Gravelle) and Eärien (Ema Horvath), but the episode largely took place in two infamous Middle-earth locations. Here, we break down the main events of the...

After spending several weeks in the Second Age of Middle-earth, it’s time for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 1 to come to an end. The Amazon Prime Video series based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings novels and their appendices has once again introduced an evil force to Middle-earth that challenges the worlds of Men, Elves, Dwarves, and even Harfoots.
Based on the trailer for The Rings of Power episode 8 released at New York Comic Con, rumors of Sauron’s reappearance have not been greatly exaggerated. After weeks of theories about which character is actually Sauron in disguise, it seems as though his true identity (identities?) will finally be revealed in the season finale.

Sophia Nomvete, who plays fan-favorite Disa the Dwarf princess in "The Rings of Power," has her breakout moment in the fourth episode of "Rings of Power," which was released Sept. 16. There's a tragic accident in the mines of Moria, and many of the miners are trapped underneath layers of rock. No one knows if they've survived.
And then Disa starts to sing. It's a gorgeous, stunning scene, her voice rising above and capturing the anguish, fears, worries, and hopes of the Dwarves. After, she tells Elrond (Robert Aramayo) that the song was a "plea to the rocks" to free the trapped miners. And it works - all of them are rescued alive.
Nomvete tells Popsugar that when she auditioned for the show and had to sing, she chose Bill Withers's "Ain't No Sunshine." She knew nothing then about the scene for which her vocals would be used, but she loves the coincidence now.

In episode 4 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, we finally learn what Durin IV (Owain Arthur) and Disa (Sophia Nomvete) have discovered in the Khazad-dûm mines – the precious metal mithril. In The Lord of the Rings universe, mithril becomes highly sought after in Middle-earth both for its beauty and its durability – it shines like silver, is stronger than steel, it’s as malleable as copper, and doesn’t tarnish. While this discovery may seem like a win for Durin IV and the Dwarves of Khazad-dûm in the Second Age, the mining of mithril will eventually lead to the destruction and downfall of the Dwarven kingdom.
Because mithril can only be found in the Dwarven mines of Moria, the haste with which the Dwarves mine mithril throughout the Second Age leads...

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" is halfway through season 1, so I'm going to take a moment to praise the incredible costumes of characters like Míriel (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), and Disa (Sophia Nomvete and the Mvp of the series).
I'm not alone in this admiration. Tweets and other posts on social media have compared some of the costumes to paintings from the Pre-Raphaelite, Orientalist, and Symbolist movements in art history. Twitter user @LeoPrasidis compared Galadriel's golden leaf crown to the one in Léon François Comerre's "The Girl with the Golden Wreath," Míriel's hair net to Herbert Gustave Schmalz's "Zenobia's Last Look Upon Palmyra," and Galadriel's armor to Joan of Arc paintings from John Everett Millais, and Charles-Amable Lenoir.

All is not well in Númenor, dear reader. Queen Regent Míriel is plagued by dreams (or are they prophecies?) of the island’s destruction via “The Great Wave” that gives this episode its title, and rabble-rousers are gathering in the town square to accuse her of being an “elf-lover” — a serious charge indeed. Her waking hours are no less stressful, as Galadriel is putting that theory to the test by once again bothering Míriel about Sauron. She also takes it upon herself to reveal that Halbrand may in fact be the exiled heir to the Southlands’ throne, a theory Míriel neither believes nor cares about; what concern is it of hers whether a far-away would-be kingdom is without its rightful king?

Epic-sized battle sequences, extensive backstory and lore, and an entire ensemble cast masterfully embodying their respective fantasy characters -- these are just a few of the shared traits between the upcoming "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" and director Peter Jackson's giant-sized and incredibly influential "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy that came before, casting a long shadow on anything this series will try to accomplish. By all accounts, this Prime Video series will attempt to tell a very similar story (at least in terms of scope and scale) while still delivering everything fans loved about those prior adaptations. Though it's too soon to say whether "The Rings of Power" has succeeded in those goals, a brief chat with three particular members of the cast went a long way towards assuaging any such concerns over a significant subplot in the early going.

On Monday night, Middle-earth returned to the big screen at the world premiere of Amazon’s long-awaited prequel series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. At Amazon Prime Video’s Culver Studios headquarters, the cast and creators of the show gathered for the kickoff of the most expensive television show in small-screen history.
With an impressive price tag of 1 billion for five seasons, the first season alone cost 465 million. It’s an ambitious undertaking, perhaps one that is necessary, given the success of The Lord of the Rings trilogy adaptation by Peter Jackson in the early 2000s.

The “Lord of the Rings” franchise marks a first: The first female Dwarf appears in epic Prime Video series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” premiering September 2.
During San Diego Comic-Con 2022, actress Sophia Nomvete discussed becoming the first woman Dwarf in J.R.R. Tolkien’s adaptation. Nomvete stars as Disa, wife of Prince Durin IV (Owain Arthur), a Second Age ruler and bearer of one of the rings of power.
Nomvete revealed she auditioned for the role just two days before giving birth. During production, the seams in the shoulders of her costumes were crafted so she could remove the outfits easily to breastfeed as a new mother.
The prequel series is co-created by showrunners Jd Payne and Patrick McKay using appendices and footnotes from J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy novels to focus on a fresh story in Middle-earth, set thousands of years before the events of “The Lord of the Rings.
