In 1973, Suzanne Rogers debuted on Days of our Lives as Maggie Simmons, an orphaned young farm woman, who was crippled. She became the love interest of amnesiac Mickey Horton (John Clarke) and, later, his wife. Over the decades, Maggie regained her ability to walk unassisted, lost custody of one daughter, adopted another, and gave birth to yet another. Also, she discovered a son she never knew she had in Daniel (Shawn Christian). Rogers won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1978, the inaugural year of category. The actress left Days in 1984 after being diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, a chronic autoimmune, neuromuscular condition that Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) also had on Empire. Rogers returned to Days a year later. In 2003, she fell victim to a cast purge when yet another serial killer swept through Salem. Also, fortunately, Maggie and all the ...

Who's your favorite Jack Ryan? For author Tom Clancy, who created the Ryanverse and wrote or co-wrote 17 novels set within it, it wasn't Harrison Ford.
The Jack Ryan role has changed hands five times onscreen; Alec Baldwin first played the character in "The Hunt for Red October" in 1990, before Ford took over and delivered the one-two punch of "Patriot Games" and "Clear and Present Danger" in 1992 and 1994. After Ford vacated the role, a succession of younger actors — Ben Affleck, Chris Pine, and John Krasinski — would appear as the titular CIA analyst in the movies "The Sum of All Fears" and "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit," as well as the Prime Video series "Jack Ryan."
It seems "younger" was what Clancy always had in mind. According to Indiewire, Ford was director John McTiernan's first choice to play Jack Ryan in "The Hunt for Red October." However, in a 2002 interview with film...

Paramount’s high-flying adaptation of Tom Clancy novel Rainbow Six has found its writers.
Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith, who co-created the 2013 British crime drama Run, has been tapped to write the action thriller that has Michael B. Jordan starring and Chad Stahelski directing.
In addition to staring, Jordan is producing with Elizabeth Raposo via the duo’s Outlier Society banner. Also producing are Akiva Goldsman and Greg Lessans via Weed Road Pictures as well as Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec through The Saw Mill.
The feature project is a follow-up to Jordan’s 2021 action vehicle, Without Remorse, with the actor once again playing Navy Seal-turned-CIA operative John Clark. One of Clancy’s more popular characters, Clark appeared in the late author’s Jack Ryan spy books and also headlined two novels, Without Remorse and Rainbow Six, with the latter spawning a line of video games.

Back in 2018, when we first learned that Michael B. Jordan would be playing Tom Clancy character John Clark in a movie based on Without Remorse, there was talk that the development schedule also included another big Clark-featuring novel, Rainbow Six. Paramount is now pressing ahead with the follow-up film, and Chad Stahelski is now on board to direct Jordan in the project.
Rainbow Six sees Clark commanding a multi-country anti-terrorist squad and facing off against a huge conspiracy plotting to wipe out most of humanity for the sake of the planet. But we don't yet know how much of the story will port over to the new film. Without Remorse made some changes, so we'd expect that to carry over.
And unlike Remorse, Paramount is currently thinking that Rainbow Six will hit cinemas. Quite when is anyone's guess, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, this could well be Stahelski's next film.

John Wick‘s Chad Stahelski is locked and loaded for Paramount‘s adaptation of Rainbow Six starring Michael B. Jordan. Details about the plot remain in shadow. Still, we’ve got word Stahelski is directing the film based on Tom Clancy’s extensive military franchise. Paramount Pictures is still determining if Rainbow Six will debut in theaters or on Paramount+. Jordan is reprising his role as the CIA operations officer and former Navy Seal, John Clark, born John Terrance Kelley. Jordan’s Clark was featured in 2021’s Without Remorse, directed by Stefano Sollima.

The next big Tom Clancy adaptation has found its director. Chad Stahleski, director and stunt coordinator best known for helming all three "John Wick" movies plus the upcoming sequel, has signed on to direct "Rainbow Six" according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Rainbow Six" is set to be the second Clancy adaptation starring Michael B. Jordan, after 2021's "Without Remorse."
Action-savvy filmmaker Stahleski's participation should hopefully breathe some life into a franchise that so far hasn't made the impact one might expect from the "Ryanverse," Clancy's extensive literary world that features Jack Ryan along with Jordan's character, John Clark. "Without Remorse" was originally scheduled for a theatrical release, but ended up moving to Prime Video, where it failed to stand out in a sea of political thrillers and action-heavy shows. In /Film's review, Josh Spiegel called the first film "a bland throwback to the late 1980s and early 1990s," with a "uniformly pedestrian script.

Chad Stahelski (John Wick franchise) has been tapped to direct the Tom Clancy adaptation Rainbow Six for Paramount Pictures, Deadline can confirm.
Details as to the plot of the film, starring Michael B. Jordan, are under wraps. But it marks the studio’s follow-up to the actioner Without Remorse, which went to Amazon for distribution in April 2021, following the Covid pandemic’s throwing of theatrical into disarray. While it’s not yet clear whether the new film will go to theatrical or streaming, Jordan reprises his role as the CIA operations officer and former Navy Seal, John Clark.
Producers are Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo for Outlier Society, Akiva Goldsman and Greg Lessans for Weed Road Pictures, and Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec for The Saw Mill. Stahelski, Jason Spitz and Alex Young will exec produce for 87Eleven Entertainment.

It has taken years to make, but it appears that Tom Clancy’s “Rainbow Six” is finally moving toward production as a feature film. With the prequel, “Without Remorse,” doing seemingly good business for Paramount and Amazon when it was released in 2021, the sequel film not only sees the return of Michael B. Jordan as John Clark, a counterterrorism expert and overall badass, but it also serves as filmmaker Chad Stahelski’s introduction into the Clancyverse franchise.

Many TV legends and contributors were included for the “In Memoriam” segment on Sunday’s Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony for ABC. But producers are always forced to omit some of the 100+ insiders who died since the last ceremony. Who was left out of the group that was honored?
With dozens of television veterans having died since last year’s mid-September ceremony, people certainly included were these six TV Academy Hall of Fame members:
Diahann Carroll
Leonard Goldberg (executive at 20th Century Fox and ABC; producer of “Charlie’s Angels” and more)
Jim Lehrer (anchor/reporter of “MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour)
Regis Philbin

Days of Our Lives is not going anywhere. The network has renewed its longest-running series for a 56th season, I have learned. I hear Days executive producer Ken Corday of Corday Prods., which produces the daytime drama, just delivered the news to the cast.

An odd start to an interview as I walked into a comfy room to talk to Willem Dafoe for a bit. We ended up talking about feet, specifically that mine were big. He sought to assure me that my feet were fine, to try and make me feel better about myself. There’s a measure of a man for you.

As Akiva Goldsman’s Weed Road production company and Paramount Pictures close a new deal, rumours have surfaced that Goldsman could finally bring to life Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six and that Ryan Reynolds is being lined up to take the lead.
Deadline has reported that “loose talks” have commenced with the Deadpool actor to play Clancy’s Mercenary Hero Ex-Navy Seal, John Clark – In the novel, Clark, becomes head of an international task force to combat terrorism. The team is quickly confronted by a series of international incidents. How close the intended production will keep to Clancy’s novel is yet to be confirmed.
However, it is expected that ‘Without Remorse’ will be the next to be adapted in the Clark series of stories as the character has already been portrayed by Willem Dafoe and Liev Schreiber in both Clear and Present Danger and The Sum of all Fears.

The Tom Clancy book Rainbow Six is heading to the movies - and Ryan Reynolds is on the list to star.
Rainbow Six may have become a series of best-selling and popular videogames thanks to UbiSoft, but their core still lies in a novel by the late Tom Clancy. The sizeable book focuses on the character of John Clark, who was introduced in Clancy’s Jack Ryan novels (and we saw played on screen by Willem Dafoe in Clear And Present Danger and Liev Schreiber in The Sum Of All Fears).
A movie adaptation of Rainbow Six is now in the works, and it’s being overseen by Akiva Goldsman. Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec have been hired to try and fit the book into a two hours-or-so movie, and Paramount – which is backing the project – would subsequently look for more John Clark movies.

“What's your favorite record?” That is the key question asked in director Elaine Constantine’s “Northern Soul,” a rousing, wildly entertaining Toronto International Film Festival entry set in mid-70s England. Here is a sonically explosive film that understands the deep connection that can exist between a genre of music and its fans, especially those who might be considered (or would consider themselves) outsiders. In this case, that genre is Northern Soul, a still-influential style of music that has never been properly documented onscreen before. While a few names will ring a bell to fans of soul music — Edwin Starr, for example — the majority are names unfamiliar to even the most devoted trainspotters. What’s most important is that the predominantly African-American sung music moves, and pulsates with a triumphant feeling at odds with much of early-'70s U.K. rock. As “Northern Soul” begins, John Clark (Elliot James Langridge) is a sullen 18-year-old whose.

Recently, TV Line served up their latest spoiler chat session, and dished out some new spoiler scoopage for the upcoming "Flash" season 2. It turns out that the show is seeking an actor to come on and play a new hero that's 30 or 40 years old with an edge. He will be a season-long character, and more. In their spoiler chat report, they said: "The Flash, however – in addition to Wendy – is casting the season-long role of a classically handsome, square-jawed hero in his 30s to early 40s, a slightly cynical man “with an edge.” The casting call lists the character as “John Clark,” which is obviously fake/a nod to the DC Comics letterer. Though I must wonder if one of Clark’s works hints at the character being introduced…" Season 2 debuts this Fall 2015.

A casting call has gone out for a new hero to join The Flash TV show. Could it be Jay Garrick, Earth-Two's scarlet speedster?
Here's an interesting one - the folks at The CW have put out a casting call for a new hero to join The Flash, sending fan imaginations flying in all sorts of directions.
"A classically handsome, square-jawed hero in his 30s to early 40s, a slightly cynical man 'with an edge" is what they're looking for, according to TV Line. The character has been named John Clark, but people are assuming that's a placeholder name, seeing as the only John Clark related to DC Comics is a real life letterer.
So, who could it be then? Well, square-jawed heroes aren't exactly in short supply in the comic book world. Our best guess, though? That would be Jay Garrick, Earth-Two's version of The Flash who has been teased in the show already.

It's rare when a film adaptation lives up the book it was based on so with that in mind I have compiled a list of 40 books that have been adapted for the big screen that we can expect to see in theaters this year. This includes two books from Gillian Flynn, young adult adaptations of work by Veronica Roth, Suzanne Collins and James Dashner, a short story from Dennis Lehane, a Nick Hornby adaptation, and an adaptation written by Nick Hornby, a new John le Carre adaptation and a prequel to the stories written by Tom Clancy as well as a couple comics and graphic novel adaptations from the likes of Frank Miller and Hiroshi Sakurazaka and Alexander O. Smith. I've added everything I could think of and while I'm sure I missed a few, please forgive me and hopefully you'll find something that appeals to your taste on the list.
