From hot young directors to esteemed veteran actors, the newly-released 2015 Cannes jury of nine artists is as diverse as it is impressive. Tie Me Down!," "Kika and The Flower of my Secret" (nominated for two Goya Awards), and then "Broken Embraces" (Official Selection: 2009 Festival de Cannes). - Casting is complete, techs crews are hired, distribution rights are being sold and shooting is about to begin on Jordan Scott's feature length film debut. The daughter of Ridley and niece of Tony will be working with starlets Eva Green, Juno Temple, Maria Valverde, Imogen Poots and Sinead Cusack. Written for the screen by Caroline Ip and Ben Court, based on the novel by Sheila Kohler, Cracks is about a group of girls at a boarding school in England in the 1930s who become caught up in the web of a charismatic teacher. Jordan and Ridley teamed for one of the seven segments (Mehdi Charef, Emir Kusturica, Spike Lee, Katia Lund, Stefano Veneruso and John Woo) for All the Invisible Children. Screen Daily reports that StudioCanal has taken all rights for the UK, France and Benelux, while the Irish Film Board are adding fund money to the project

PARIS -- Three additional films will round out the Festival de Cannes' Un Certain Regard sidebar, the festival's artistic director Thierry Fremaux said Wednesday.
Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-hsien's "The Red Balloon", rumored to be an official selection front-runner from the start, will be the prestigious section's opening film May 17. The French production starring Juliette Binoche follows a boy and his baby-sitter through an imaginary world.
Argentinean film "La Novia Errante" by Ana Katz and "You, the Living" by Sweden's Roy Andersson complete the selection.
Jean-Pierre Limosin's "Young Yakusa" will be shown as a special screening, and Mehdi Charef will present his new film "Cartouches Gauloises" during an evening devoted to Algeria on May 25.
The Cannes Classics program will be announced Wednesday.

CANNES -- John Woo and Ridley Scott are two of seven acclaimed directors attached to participate in a uniquely ambitious multinational production called All the Invisible Children, which is being produced by MK Film Prods. and co-produced by RAI Cinema. All the Invisible Children -- composed of seven segments, each representative of a geographical region -- will unite Woo and Scott, who will direct the China and the U.K. sections, respectively, along with Stefano Veneruso (Italy), Katia Lund (Brazil), Mehdi Charef (Africa) and Emir Kusturica (Serbia-Montenegro). Jordan Scott, daughter of Ridley, will co-direct the U.K. segment. The director representing the final seventh region has yet to be announced. Each of the seven segments will delve into the hurdles and plights of respective child protagonists facing the vicissitudes of life in various parts of the world.
