- His twin brother, Eric, was a winner of the County Championship with his county Surrey CCC. He was a right arm off break bowler who played cricket from 1939 to 1965. He scored 14716 runs and took 833 wickets in his career.
- Part of the famous Surrey cricket twins along with brother Eric Bedser. An England International from 1946 to 1955 taking 236 wickets. He won County Championships with Surrey and took 1924 wickets for his county. He was Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1947 and was knighted for services to cricket in 1996.
