The 28-year-old tight end, who plays for the Baltimore Ravens, was on a flight from Baltimore to Phoenix on Thursday (February 1). He was seemingly heading to his hometown in Scottsdale after wrapping up the football season.
A woman on the Southwest Airlines flight began having a medical issue about three hours into the flight and she was assisted by a doctor and a nurse who were both passengers. The woman reportedly had a low heart rate and pulse.
A fellow passenger on the plane reports that Andrews overheard what was going on and got up to assist, offering a solution that ultimately saved the woman’s life.

When Oscar-winning animation director Mark Andrews (“Brave”) called his old Pixar pal Alex Mandel about his latest gig, “Super Giant Robot Brothers,” Mandel was 6,700 miles away in New Zealand managing projects for visual effects house Weta Digital.
Mandel, whose other creative side happens to be classically trained composer, dove into Andrews’ new project and created more than three hours of music for the series now airing on Netflix.
“Super Giant Robot Brothers” is a 3D animated action-comedy from Reel FX about massive metal robots destined to save the world from invading kaiju – giant monsters from space – while trying to overcome their own sibling rivalry. Andrews, a drummer who used to jam with guitarist Mandel at Pixar events, suggested the musical style: synthwave.
Synthwave combines heavy metal with ’80s synthpop, adding ’90s production elements for a retro-meets-modern approach that reminded Andrews of the Japanese animated series he watched as a kid.

Last October, we shared the news that Battle of the Damned director Christopher Hatton‘s mystery horror / supernatural thriller Raven’s Hollow, which stars William Moseley (The Chronicles of Narnia) as Edgar Allan Poe, had landed a distribution deal with the Shudder streaming service. Shudder has now announced that they’ll be releasing Raven’s Hollow on September 22nd – and along with that announcement comes the unveiling of a trailer for the film, which you can watch in the embed above.
Inspired by Poe’s mysterious exit from the Military Academy at West Point, Raven’s Hollow is set in the fall of 1830 and has the following synopsis:
West Point military Cadet Edgar Allan Poe and four other cadets on a training exercise in upstate New York come upon a man eviscerated on a bizarre wooden rack. His dying words direct them to a forgotten community, which they believe is guarding sinister secrets.

At last week’s “Coco” premiere at the El Capitan in Hollywood, John Lasseter had a look of sadness in his eyes. The usual gregarious charm didn’t come as easily. Maybe he was tired: he’d been running both Pixar and Disney Animation as chief creative officer for the last 11 years.
That was the explanation when Lasseter first stepped down as director of “Toy Story 4” earlier this year. Then came Tuesday’s shocking revelation of alleged unwanted advances, forcing the animation mogul — who was known for his warm hugs — to take a six-month leave of absence from the studios, apologizing for “missteps” in a memo to his Disney/Pixar staff.
Lasseter, by far the most powerful and influential figure in contemporary animation, joins a growing list of big-name players in Hollywood, the media, and politics accused of sexual misconduct (including Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, and Charlie Rose). This...

Twenty years ago Pixar Animation Studios released their first feature-length film: Toy Story. It was the first completely computer generated film out there and changed everything. Every other studio making animated films has been trying to catch up to them, not only in terms of technological achievements but in crafting stories that make everyone old and young laugh, cry, and thrilled. Not every single film they've made has been a home run, but their track record thus far has been pretty impressive. This year's release Inside Out is no exception, arriving as the fifteenth feature in the animation house's stable. Given the occasion, I've taken it upon myself to rank Pixar's first fifteen features to settle once and for all what is the best and worst from the studio. I contemplated bringing in the short films that precede each of their features, as many are just exquisite if not better than the films they accompany,...

For the past seven years, Tna has brought its unique brand of action to the United Kingdom in what is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the company’s calendar. From what started as a small tour in places like Brentwood, Essex and Coventry, the annual tour has blossomed into a block of TV tapings in major arenas across the UK that both thrill Tna’s loyal UK following and make great looking television shows.
For 2016, Tna have announced that they’re going back to their roots with Maximum Impact 8, billed as the most “fan friendly tour” of all time, where backstage passes and other treats will be up for grabs for the loudest fans in each arena. As well as this, Tna have promised family friendly event timings, which one would presume means an earlier start and finish times, as well as a ticket pricing structure suitable for all budgets.

On Friday, March 13, Disney will release the live action version of Cinderella from director Kenneth Branagh.
The original animated movie opened on February 15, 1950 to universal acclaim and 65 years later, Cinderella has become one of studio’s most treasured titles.
Branagh has once again turned to the Scottish composer Patrick Doyle for the score. The album features original music by Doyle marking the eleventh time he has teamed with Branagh.
In 1989, the director commissioned Doyle to compose the score for Henry V and they have subsequently collaborated on numerous pictures, including Dead Again, Mary Shelley’S Frankenstein, Much Ado About Nothing, Hamlet, As You Like It and Thor, and most recently Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.
Doyle scored Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes for 20th Century Fox and Brave for Disney Pixar, which was awarded Best Original Composition for Film at the International Music and Sound Awards.

Doyle scored Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes for 20th Century Fox and Brave for Disney Pixar, which was awarded Best Original Composition for Film at the International Music and Sound Awards.

After spinning wheels with two straight Group Round episodes in which almost nothing happened, "American Idol" may start making some tough cuts tonight. Follow along as we get to trimming... 8:01 p.m. Et. A month ago, almost exactly to the day, we learned that Peter Sohn had been named the new director of The Good Dinosaur after being part of the brain trust (along with John Lasseter, Lee Unnkrich and Mark Andrews) taking over direction of the film from Up helmer Bob Peterson. We've heard some overhauling and reimagining was taking place behind the scenes, and that explains why the film was pushed back to November 2015. Now a report from La Times has Sohn discussing some of the changes being made, in addition to how difficult it was for Pixar to make the choice to push the movie in order to make it better. But first, here's a new piece of concept are from Pixar Animation's The Good Dinosaur: The good news is it sounds like that the changes to the film haven't resulted in a completely different movie, merely a better one.

Last fall, Pixar Animation had to push back the release of The Good Dinosaur from an initial release this past summer back to November 25th, 2015. The news came just a few weeks after we learned Bob Peterson had been removed from the film as director and a brain trust consisting of John Lasseter, Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich, replacement Brave director Mark Andrews, and Party Cloudy short director Pete Sohn were put in place to take over the project. Now we have word that Pixar has completely overhauled the film as voice star John Lithgow says the film has been drastically changed for the better. Speaking with Collider (promoting his forthcoming, fantastic indie Love is Strange), Lithgow said: “I recorded the entire role in Good Dinosaur. They have now dismantled it and completely reimagined it, and it is a fantastic new story. So I’m gonna record again on it within the next month.

Marvel looks to be making moves towards bringing its Doctor Strange adaptation to fruition, with Variety reporting that Scott Derrickson is in talks to occupy the director's chair. According to the report, Derrickson is the studio's first choice to take on the project, ahead of rival candidates Jonathan Levine and Mark Andrews. Having made his name on horror films like Sinister and The Exorcism Of Emily Rose, Derrickson looks a decent fit for the material, which focuses on the titular "master of the mystic arts". It appears we have a director for Marvel's upcoming "Doctor Strange" movie, indicating the film will likely be one of the studio's Phase Three films.
Filmmaker Scott Derrickson ("Sinister," "The Day the Earth Stood Still") has confirmed on Twitter that he will take the helm of the film as his next project. Derrickson most recently filmed the Eric Bana-led supernatural thriller "Deliver Us From Evil" which opens July 2nd.
Derrickson was first reported being in contention earlier this year, and it looks like he's won the gig ahead of the other rumored names like Jonathan Levine ("Warm Bodies") and Mark Andrews ("Brave").
In the comics, the character is a self-centred New York surgeon robbed of his skills after a car accident. He soon finds his way to a healer in the Himalayas where he learned to tap into psychic powers to battle evil wizards and other wrongdoers.

I like Scott Derrickson's movies and he's a fun guy to follow on Twitter and for those reasons I'm not sure how to feel when it comes to the news he will direct Marvel's Dr. Strange. It's certainly a gig that can raise his profile and it's also a nice change of scenery as he's been directing horror films for some time now, including 2012's Sinister and his upcoming film this summer Deliver Us from Evil (7/2), but is that worth the trade-off that is working under Marvel's thumbc Kung Fu Panda scribes, Jon Aibel and Glenn Berger, were last known to be writing the script when names such as Mark Andrews (Brave co-director), Nikolaj Arcel (A Royal Affair), Dean Israelite (Welcome to Yesterday) and Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies) were said to be up for the directing gig. Levine, last we heard, was a possible candidate for the now-vacant Ant-Man chair.

For the last couple of weeks, Marvel Studios has been working hard to find a filmmaker to replace Edgar Wright for 2015's Ant-Man, but that's not stopping them from thinking about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While that director search continues, new reports now say that the studio has found the man that they want to make their Doctor Strange film: Scott Derrickson. This news comes to us from Variety, which adds that talks are still very early but that he is the studio's top pick and should be made official very shortly. We first learned that Derrickson was in the mix all the way back in March when he was mentioned on a shortlist of candidates for the Doctor Strange gig. At the time, other filmmakers being considered were Jonathan Levine, the director of 50/50 and Warm Bodies, and Mark Andrews, the co-director of Brave. Apparently the last...

Let us take this moment, as Disney's "Frozen" becomes the highest-grossing animated film in box office history with $1 billion worldwide-- passing "The Lion King" and entering the top ten of all-time grossers list-- to make note that this princess musical with two female leads plays well to wide audiences all over the world. It is not a sequel. While it boasts a fairy tale pedigree, fair to say this is an original screenplay, and marks the second year in a row that the animated feature Oscar was won by a movie co-directed by a woman, in this case Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck ("Brave" was directed by Brenda Chapman and Mark Andrews). The Walt Disney Studios’ seventh billion-dollar release and the first animated feature to cross that mark, “Frozen” has grossed an estimated $398.4 million at the domestic box office and $674 million overseas. In its sights are such iconic blockbusters as "The Dark Knight Rises.

For a movie that is still not official, Marvel sure does like to talk about Doctor Strange.
Last month, reports that Marvel had assembled a shortlist of potential directors prompted us to put together a poll for who should play the role. Now, with 2014's Captain America: Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy along with 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man on the horizon, Marvel president Kevin Feige explained how Doctor Strange would fit into Marvel's Cinematic Universe.
"Are you watching the Cosmos series?" Feige asked Badass Digest. "That’s magic, [the quantum physics]. It’s unbelievable. If somebody knew how to tap into that stuff, what’s the difference between that and magic?
"You don’t get into it in Harry Potter," Feige continued. "But if a scientist went to Hogwarts he’d find out how some of that stuff is happening! We’re not going to spend a lot of time on that,...

With only a mere four massive franchise installments prepped for this year and next, Kevin Feige and Marvel have begun delving into one of the more mystical of their properties, “Doctor Strange.” Reports that Johnny Depp might play the titular superhero were quickly dashed, and a list of potential directors for the film has gained traction, with such names as Jonathan Levine (“50/50”), Scott Derrickson (“Sinister”), and Mark Andrews (“Brave”) in the mix. While Feige has confirmed meeting those names, he’s also said they’re not as close to deciding as some might believe. At a recent junket for “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Feige laid down the current status of “Doctor Strange” for SlashFilm. “We’ve met with all of [those three],” he said, speaking of Levine, Derrickson, and Andrews. “Some of those three are not in contention anymore, some of those three we’re still talking with and there are many others.

(Cbr) Marvel may be revving up for the April 4 release of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", but the studio is also playing the long game, with an eye toward Phase Three films like "Ant-Man" and the long-discussed "Doctor Strange". The project will further broaden the boundaries of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the studio still hasn’t figured out who will helm the project. However, it does seem to be getting closer. On Twitter, The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit wrote, “Doctor Strange update: Scott Derrickson ("Sinister", "Exorcism of Emily Rose") also in the mix to direct the movie.” He followed that up with, “Being told Mark Andrews ("Brave"), Jonathan Levine ("Warm Bodies") still on the shortlist.” Derrickson might be best known for helming the microbudget Blumhouse horror film "Sinister", but he also directed the larger-budget "The Day the Earth Stood Still" remake.

We've been talking about a Doctor Strange movie here on Dread Central for a long while now, and with the pieces slowly falling into place, a short list of directors for the project has come to light. Read on to see who could possibly be bringing the Strange in a big way!
According to THR reporter Borys Kit on Twitter, the aforementioned directors includes Mark Andrews (Brave), Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane), and Scott Derrickson (Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose).
Given my familiarity and love for the character, I'd like to see Derrickson tackle it, but Levin is also a very inspired choice. Stay tuned.
The last actor they were looking at to assume the mystical role was The Dark Knight Rises, Looper, and Inception's Joseph Gordon-Levitt (pictured).
The film is being penned by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer.

Marvel confirmed multiple times that "Doctor Strange" will be one of the studio's upcoming movies. But when a list of potential directors was posted online, Marvel head Kevin Feige was quick to dismiss the news. Those helmers are Mark Andrews (Brave) and Jonathan Levin (Warm Bodies, 50/50). The outlet went on to add another name to the mix, Scott Derrickson (Sinister, The Day the Earth Stood Still).

The short list for a director of Marvel's "Doctor Strange" has reportedly been whittled down to just three names.
Jonathan Levine ("Warm Bodies"), Mark Andrews ("Brave") and Scott Derrickson ("Sinister") are said to be the three final according to The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit.
The three were a list of five names linked to the project back in February, a list Marvel's Kevin Feige dismissed as accurate.
It's presently not known when Marvel intends to make a final decision as to who will direct the film. No cast or release date is yet locked either.

The world of comic books brought to life on the big screen has gone surgical as the headlines are filled with news of classic comic "doctors" and the people that may play and/or direct them. Beginning with Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot at Fox. We already know Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B.
