While in the midst of a divorce, Nacio became romantically involved with singer/actress/dancer Doris Eaton. He wrote "Singin' in the Rain" and "Doll Dance" for her, which she introduced in "The Hollywood Music Box Revue" in 1927.
Inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.
Singin' in the Rain was adapted to a West End Musical in 2000 and was
awarded Outstanding Musical Production in 2001 at the Laurence Olivier
Theatre Awards.
