He had another wedding ceremony with his wife Nancy on 26 June 1999 in
Santa Barbara, California. This was to compensate for the original
marriage (in City Hall in 1992), when they didn't have much money.
Their daughter Stephanie was the flower-girl.
Runs the Boston Marathon to raise awareness of youth programs for The
Salvation Army.
Went back to finish high school at 19.
David's early interest was in music - rock 'n roll music. He was front
man for a band. David briefly quit high school to play with the band
full time.
Auditioned for the world-renowned Stratford Shakespearean Festival in
Stratford, Ontario and was accepted as a member of its Young Company
and was there for two years.
At one point was working in a belt factory.
He is the second of three sons of Arnold Smith, a heating and plumbing
wholesaler-contractor, and his wife, Pat, an office manager.
He and his wife became U.S. citizens.
Attended Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto, Ontario.
David and Nanci's son, Wyatt, was born March 3, 2003.
Grew up in Milton, but spent much time in the Bahamas, as most of his
relatives on his father's side lived there.
