There’s no Superman in the picture, but some of the core cast of Scrubs recently got together for a little pizza party. It may not be the reunion that fans want, but it’s still pretty cool seeing J.D., Elliot, the Janitor, and more are still close.
In an Instagram post, Chris Miller (Jordan Sullivan) shared the reunion pic along with a caption that read, “Impromptu pizza party with my Scrubs”. Those Scrubs were: series lead Zach Braff (J.D. Dorian), Sarah Chalke (Elliot Reid) and John C. McGinley (Janitor). They were also joined by Amanda Kloots, host of The Talk.

Scrubs run on NBC ended in 2010, but it seems the cast is still tight.
Today, four of the series’ biggest names shared a group photo on social media from a recent mini reunion.

Office Space is celebrating its 25th anniversary following its delayed path to success, although hopefully no one would get their ass kicked for saying something like that.
Released Feb. 19, 1999, director Mike Judge’s enduring and endlessly quotable workplace satire follows computer programmer Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston), who decides to stop caring about his day job and teams up with Initech co-workers Michael Bolton (David Herman) and Samir Nagheenanajar (Ajay Naidu) to defraud the company. The Fox comedy — featuring such on-the-rise performers as Jennifer Aniston, John C. McGinley, Gary Cole and Stephen Root — collected just $10 million at the time but became a cult favorite after finding a following through cable and home video.
Other standouts from the cast include Richard Riehle as engineer liaison Tom Smykowski, who defends his job (“I have people skills!”) to Paul Willson and McGinley as the two Bobs who are put in charge of layoffs. In...

The question of how to get the most authenticity possible out of actors has been riling up filmmakers for as long as the film medium has existed. William Wyler ("Ben-Hur") did 40 takes; Robert Bresson ("Pickpocket") insisted on simple movements and monotone line deliveries; Italian Neorealists cast people off the street; Robert Altman ("Nashville") let actors improvise; Andrei Tarkovsky ("Solaris") kept them in the dark about how the story would end.
When it comes to horror, the quest becomes even more daunting: How do you convince viewers that the people they're seeing on screen are genuinely disturbed and terrified, while also securing enough distance between actors and characters to keep the shoot sustainable? Some films have attempted to split the difference by instilling genuine scares, discomfort, and emotional distress on their actors. Others assembled their respective violent scenarios to within an inch of their lives, placing performers into circumstances that were...

Arriving at the tail end of the machismo-laden action movie boom of the 1980s, Kathryn Bigelow’s Point Break represented a different kind of blockbuster. As Gus Van Sant did the same year with My Own Private Idaho and the Wachowskis would do with their Matrix films, Bigelow foregrounds the androgynous qualities of Keanu Reeves, presenting his rookie F.B.I. agent Johnny Utah as a lithe, sensitive soul who infiltrates a gang of bank robbers not through a projection of strength but an appeal to the criminals’ own, surprisingly delicate natures.
The film begins with Johnny arriving at the F.B.I.’s Los Angeles branch for his first assignment. There, he’s greeted and immediately insulted by the director (John C. McGinley), whose strict rules for personal conduct and mirthless commitment to the job paint him as one of the dying relics of the service’s original, Hoover-led era. The other agents,...

It’s hard to believe today, after Speed and four Matrix movies, and four John Wick movies, but there
was a time when Keanu Reeves was not considered viable as an action star, especially after his portrayal
of lovable time-traveling doofus Ted Theodore Logan in Bill & Ted’S Excellent Adventure.
But that perception radically changed in 1991 with the adrenaline extravaganza Point Break, which
featured Reeves as an FBI agent hot on the trail of some bank-robbing surfers led by Patrick Swayze. But how exactly did this preposterous combination ever reach the beach? Grab your board and catch a wave as we find out Wtf Happened to this movie!
The idea for Point Break first surfaced in the mind of filmmaker Rick King [The Killing Time] after he
saw a newspaper article declaring Los Angeles as the bank-robbing capital of America thanks to the
getaway convenience provided by the city’s numerous freeways.

This story about the casting of “Shrinking” first appeared in the Comedy Series issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
Say you’re casting a thoughtful comedy about the world of psychotherapists, and you need a seasoned veteran to support the sharp young cast in a potentially scene-stealing mentor role. And then you land one of the biggest movie stars in the world, an icon who has been in two of the largest movie franchises in the last 50 years.
This was the reality for “Shrinking” casting directors Debby Romano and Brett Benner when the AppleTV+ comedy was being put together. It still seems surreal to them that they landed Harrison Ford for the pivotal supporting role of Paul, a senior member of the practice where Jason Segel and Jessica Williams’ characters work as therapists.

A Scrubs movie isn’t a matter of if, but when, according to creator Bill Lawrence, who believes a feature-length continuation of the 2000s TV comedy is “inevitable.” “In the greatest way, the cast of that show and the writers are so good that they’re all working,” Lawrence told Variety in a recent interview. “And the main reason to do something like that isn’t the work, it’s because we actually love hanging out.” As for a potential Scrubs movie, Lawrence said, “I think it’s inevitable that it happens. The joke of it with us is the first time that six months go by that we don’t hang out, we’ll end up doing a Scrubs reunion.” Scrubs, which aired seven seasons on NBC and two on ABC, starred Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, Ken Jenkins, John C. "So how does that make you feel?" This question has been uttered by just about every incarnation of a therapist on screen, and the new series "Shrinking" is no different. Jason Segel stars as Jimmy Laird, a grieving therapist who realizes he's running on auto-pilot with his patients and trying to numb himself after the loss of his wife instead of actually dealing with his problems. Realizing he needs to make a massive change, Jimmy decides to throw the ethical rulebook out the window and tell his clients exactly what he thinks, much to the chagrin of fellow psychiatrist, Dr. Paul Rhodes (Harrison Ford). Rather than wait to hear how a patient "feels" about a situation, he's dishing out advice that will shake up their lives ... and his own.
If the premise alone doesn't have you hooked, perhaps its the knowledge that "Shrinking" is the latest venture from Bill Lawrence,...

1994’s Surviving the Game is one of the unheralded gems of nineties action flicks. It stars Ice-t, many years before he became part of the cast of Law & Order Svu. Back then, he was known primarily as a rapper, but following roles in New Jack City, Trespass and Ricochet, he became an up-and-comer, with many pegging him as a potential urban action star.
In Surviving the Game, Ice-t plays a homeless man being hunted in the wild in a variation on the classic tale, Most Dangerous Game. This story has always been excellent fodder for action flicks, with the previous year’s Hard Target ranking as one of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s classics.
While New Line Cinema couldn’t give the movie a massive budget, they didn’t cheap out either, giving Ice-t a great director in Ernest Dickerson, who was Spike Lee’s go-to cinematographer and the director of the well-received gangsta tale,...

It's not uncommon to hear of actors being put through boot camp to prepare for war movie roles, but when Oliver Stone made his long-gestating, Academy Award-winning Vietnam film "Platoon," he had his actors undergo training in the real jungle. "Platoon" was inspired by Stone's true-life experiences as a soldier in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and he wanted the cast to learn survival and bond like an actual military unit. This was harder for some cast members than others.
In a 2022 interview with The Guardian, Charlie Sheen related how he reached the end of his first day of location shooting for "Platoon," only to realize that "there was no bus pulling up" to take him and his castmates back to the hotel. "I looked at Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker and said: 'I guess we're just staying here,'" he recalled. While out in the jungle, Sheen said,...

There were Vietnam War films before "Platoon," but none of them palpably captured the boots-on-the-ground horror of the conflict like Oliver Stone's film did. Having served in the U.S. Army during the war, it was important to Stone to convey to audiences how confused and ultimately demoralized soldiers felt while risking their lives for a hazily stated objective. To achieve this high level of verisimilitude, Stone thrust his actors into what was essentially a boot camp. Actors playing higher ranking characters (e.g. Willem Dafoe and Tom Berenger) were encouraged to put their fresh-faced charges (e.g. soon-to-be-stars like Charlie Sheen and Johnny Depp) through their paces.
Obviously, it worked. Every single performance is wholly, tragically believable. It set a high bar for realism in war movies, and made retired Marine Dale Dye piles of money as Hollywood's go-to military advisor on everything from Brian De Palma's "Casualties of War...

"Scrubs" was a medical workplace sitcom that ran for nine seasons, following the lives of the interns and doctors at the fictional Sacred Heart teaching hospital. During a reunion panel at the Atx TV Festival, which featured creator and showrunner Bill Lawrence, along with stars Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes and Neil Flynn, the group revealed that they'd be interested in doing a movie—if schedules permit. Faison, who played Christopher Turk, shared that while they "all want it," Lawrence is very busy. "We all would love to work together again. It's just that it's really hard," Faison said,...

The cast and creator of Scrubs reunited over the weekend at the Atx TV Festival, where they shared stories from their time on the hit medical comedy-drama and hinted at a potential movie revival. Showrunner Bill Lawrence was joined by cast members Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, and Neil Flynn for a conversation with Variety‘s Michael Schneider. Towards the end of the panel, the group was asked if they would be interested in a reboot of sorts — and they all appeared to be on board with the idea. “I think we all want it. We all would love to work together again. It’s just that it’s really hard,” Faison said (via Variety). “It can’t be a full season of a show — it would have to be a movie or something like that, where you could only give a couple of months to it.

It may be time to ready your surgical gloves and don your masks because a “Scrubs” reboot may be on the horizon, according to the cast and its creator Bill Lawrence, who spoke on the subject during a reunion panel at the Atx Television Festival in Austin, Texas.
The long-running comedy spanned nine seasons from 2001 to 2010, first airing on NBC and later on ABC. As its name suggests, the Emmy-winning series followed a new cohort of medical students as they solidified their knowledge in the field at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Sunday’s panel comprised of the show’s stars Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes and Neil Flynn, as well as Lawrence, who soon voiced affirmations about a potential revival.

After spanning eight seasons, two networks, and a ninth season subtitled “Med School,” there still may be more “Scrubs” on the way.
On Sunday morning, much of the cast as well as the creator, Bill Lawrence, gathered for a reunion panel at the Atx Television Festival in Austin, TX. Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, and Neil Flynn took the stage to remember their long-running comedy, and, as these things tend to do, attention eventually turned toward a possible reboot involving the original cast and crew.

One of the longest lines for a panel at Atx TV Festival was for the Scrubs reunion on Sunday morning, featuring creator Bill Lawrence and stars Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, and Neil Flynn.
“We’re all so grateful any of you still care, it gives us an excuse to hang out together,” Lawrence said. “We are happy to spend time with each other in any way.”
Which begs the question: Could there be a reboot or revival with the original cast?
“Here’s the deal: I think we all want a reboot and want to work together again but it couldn’t be a full season. Maybe like a movie or something we could shoot in a few months,” Faison said. “With everything Bill is doing now, he’s never going to be free again. If he finds the time, we’ll do it.

The “Scrubs” family is back together. On Sunday, Atx TV Festival hosted an energy-filled reunion panel with the cast of the medical comedy-drama, which aired from 2001 to 2010, first on NBC and later on ABC.
Creator and showrunner Bill Lawrence (“Ted Lasso”) along with cast members Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes and Neil Flynn gathered for a conversation hosted by Variety TV Editor Michael Schneider.
First, the group spoke about “Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald,” the podcast hosted by Braff and Faison. “Because of that podcast, my kids started watching ‘Scrubs,'” Reyes said, joking that her children never bring up any of her epic scenes but do enjoy the rest of the cast’s work.
Later, Chalke revealed she was stuck in an elevator in Austin on Friday night and FaceTimed Braff and Fiason. “I started pushing the buttons,” she said.

This Brooklyn Nine-Nine review contains spoilers.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 8 Episodes 1 and 2
It would an understatement the size of Terry’s pecs to say that the world has changed a lot since Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s last episode. Besides a historic pandemic that has changed the way we operate at work and in public, America also reckoned with egregious examples of police brutality that found many discussing police reform, systemic racism, and even abolishing policing as we know it altogether.
In the aftermath of the George Floyd protests, the cast and crew of Brooklyn Nine-Nine spoke at length about their discomfort portraying light-hearted cops on television and discussed ways in which they could meaningfully address painful, complicated issues. Creator Dan Goor threw away four scripts for the final season in order to make sure that his show was not glossing over relevant conversations around policing.

After spending decades proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was far more than just James Bond, seven-time 007 Sean Connery decided it was safe to dust off the persona for The Rock (1996), playing former Special Air Service spy John Mason. This brilliantly batshit Michael Bay action adventure extravaganza, which has aged like a fine Coppola wine, also made a Hollywood superstar out of Nicolas Cage, then a recent Oscar darling known more for offbeat character work than beating up baddies.
In the grand 1990s tradition, this riveting testosterone fest basically boils down to “Die Hard on Alcatraz.” And there’s nothing wrong with that.
