- DirectorKimo StamboelTimo TjahjantoStarsShareefa DaanishJulie EstelleArio BayuTwo newly weds Adjie and Astrid, along with 3 of their best friends decided to have an interstate road trip as a last attempt to reconcile Adjie with his estranged little sister Ladya. Their trip is however abruptly interrupted when they run into Maya, a strange girl out of nowhere, who wanders aimlessly into their path. "I've been robbed" is all she has to say. The friends unanimously decided to give her a ride to her isolated house by the end of the woods. Maya introduces Adjie and friends to her blue-blooded mother Dara, a woman of ageless enigma and few spoken words. Dara insists that their kindness should be repaid with a dinner feast. This is where the night turns into a crimson-hell for the 6 friends, who find themselves trapped and hunted down by Dara and her cult-like family of her three deadly protégés, born and raised to systematically eliminate unsuspecting passers-by for one nefarious reason. Slaughtered one by one, everybody will bleed, the darkest of nights never looked so red. This is just a fun movie and it is crazy good and creepy. Plus Dara is one of my favorite villains ever. Mother Of All Evil is right.
- DirectorTakashi ShimizuStarsMegumi OkinaMisaki ItôMisa UeharaA mysterious and vengeful spirit marks and pursues anybody who dares enter the house in which it resides.I love the American film since it was one of the first movies to scare me since The Exorcist but the original released in theaters in Japan is amazing and a little more scary.
- DirectorWilliam FriedkinStarsEllen BurstynMax von SydowLinda BlairWhen a young girl is possessed by a mysterious entity, her mother seeks the help of two Catholic priests to save her life. What is a horror list without this amazing movie? First time I watched this was in 6th grade and I was alone in a dark room. I couldn't stop hiding under my sheets and had problems sleeping. I love this movie to this day.
- DirectorTakashi ShimizuStarsSarah Michelle GellarJason BehrClea DuVallAn American nurse living and working in Tokyo is exposed to a mysterious supernatural curse, one that locks a person in a powerful rage before claiming their life and spreading to another victim. After watching The Ring I told myself not to get excited about this movie. I like The Ring more now that I have grown up but when I first watched this when I was 14 I was alone in the dark like I am for all horror movies I watch. The bed scene and ending were especially well done. Love this Movie still to this day.
- DirectorJames WanStarsPatrick WilsonVera FarmigaRon LivingstonParanormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren work to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in their farmhouse. This movie was very creepy. John Woo has an amazing talent for directing horror films. While we have all seen the Haunted House stories, this one manages to actually creep into your mind and stay there. The Ghost in this film is so memorable and scary. I love this movie.
- DirectorTakashi ShimizuStarsShin'ya TsukamotoTomomi MiyashitaKazuhiro NakaharaA fear-obsessed freelance cameraman (Shinya Tsukamoto) investigates an urban legend involving mysterious spirits that haunt the subways of Tokyo. This is from the same director who did Ju-on and the Grudge. This is an amazing little film and the ending is spectacular. It is nothing like The Grudge so give it a chance even if you didn't like The Grudge.
- DirectorNorio TsurutaStarsYukie NakamaSeiichi TanabeKumiko AsôIn this prequel to Ring, a young Sadako becomes an actress in hopes of escaping her troubled past. But strange visions and terrifying powers begin to manifest...I love Ringu but this one makes you really FEEL for Sadako. Has a creepy ending and knowing what happens to her makes watching this movie a very sad but entertaining horror film.
- DirectorHideo NakataStarsNanako MatsushimaMiki NakataniYûko TakeuchiA reporter and her ex-husband investigate a cursed video tape that is rumored to kill the viewer seven days after watching it.This movie is slow building but creepy all the way to the now famous ending. I really enjoyed this movie and was surprised because the American Version wasn't nowhere near as good.
- DirectorSteve MinerStarsBetsy PalmerAmy SteelJohn FureyFive years after the events of the first film, a summer camp next to the infamous Camp Crystal Lake is preparing to open, but the legend of Jason is weighing heavy on the proceedings.I do love American Horror films though and of all the Jason movies, this one was actually creepy. Love this franchise but this one gets a nod from me.
- DirectorOle BornedalStarsNatasha CalisJeffrey Dean MorganKyra SedgwickA young girl buys an antique box at a yard sale, unaware that inside the collectible lives a malicious ancient spirit. The girl's father teams with his ex-wife to find a way to end the curse upon their child. Not the best demonic film but I found the story good and it was very creepy. Give it a chance.
- DirectorFede AlvarezStarsJane LevyShiloh FernandezJessica LucasFive friends head to a remote cabin, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads them to unwittingly summon up demons living in the nearby woods.Yes, I loved this remake and found it much more enjoyable than the originals. It was gory, fun, and creepy throughout.
- DirectorMarcus NispelStarsJared PadaleckiAmanda RighettiDerek MearsA group of young adults visit a boarded up campsite named Crystal Lake where they soon encounter the mysterious Jason Voorhees and his deadly intentions.I love the new Jason. Part Rambo, Part Insane and still the Jason we all love. Plus Aaron Chu did a great job in this movie.
- DirectorGore VerbinskiStarsNaomi WattsMartin HendersonBrian CoxA journalist must investigate a mysterious videotape which seems to cause the death of anyone one week to the day after they view it.As I said I didn't like this movie when I was younger and found it boring. Now that I am older I can see why this movie did so good. I enjoy it more now and while nowhere near as good as the Japanese originals, it is still very entertaining and sad in its own way.
- DirectorJames WanStarsPatrick WilsonRose ByrneTy SimpkinsA family looks to prevent evil spirits from trapping their comatose child in a realm called The Further.I haven't seen the sequel yet but I loved this movie, even the third act. Was pretty creepy and had me hooked all the way through.
- DirectorJoe DanteStarsDee WallacePatrick MacneeDennis DuganAfter a bizarre and near deadly encounter with a serial killer, a television newswoman is sent to a remote mountain resort whose residents may not be what they seem.Love werewolf movies but there are very few good ones. This is really creepy and the transformation scene really creep-ed me out.
- DirectorDaniel AttiasStarsGary BuseyEverett McGillCorey HaimIn a small town, brutal killings start to plague the close knit community. Marty Coslaw, a paraplegic boy, is convinced the murders are the doings of a werewolf.A great werewolf movie. Not as creepy as The Howling but it is very interesting and had a who is the werewolf vibe to it.
- DirectorClive BarkerStarsAndrew RobinsonClare HigginsAshley LaurenceA woman discovers the newly resurrected, partially formed, body of her brother-in-law and lover. She starts killing for him to revitalize his body and escape the demonic beings that are pursuing him after he escaped their underworld. While I actually prefer the sequel, this is the one that started it all and even though the Cenobites are the antagonist Julie is the real bad person in this film. Great movie.
- DirectorTakashi ShimizuStarsNoriko SakaiChiharu NiiyamaKei HorieAs their curse spreads on, the ghosts find their chance to live once again through the pregnancy of a cursed woman.Love this sequel. The story is quite different and honestly the last scene is one of the most memorable I have ever seen. Great sequel which I don't get to say to much.
- DirectorTakashi MiikeStarsRyo IshibashiEihi ShiinaTetsu SawakiA widower takes an offer to screen girls at a special audition, arranged for him by a friend to find him a new wife. The one he fancies is not who she appears to be after all.I almost forgot this movie which is a shame because this will make a pimp practice celibacy. Great movie in every aspect.
- DirectorDon ManciniStarsChantal QuesnelleFiona DourifJordan GavarisAfter her mother's mysterious death, Nica begins to suspect that the talking, red-haired doll her visiting niece has been playing with may be the key to recent bloodshed and chaos.I know, I know. A lot of people prefer the first Childs Play but while that one is great I love this one. We get the scary Chucky doll back finally and it does not disappoint.
