- Lauren, a genuine idealist, passionately introduces yoga to her small, eclectic suburban town with the help of her business savvy colleague, Sonny, who is currently on house arrest, unintentionally creating a family of mismatched goofballs at Zen Room. Namaste. Zen Room is a single-cam, mockumentary style, work-place comedy. Zen Room touches on the hypocrisy and extremes of the ever-growing yoga world. The characters are quirky yet lovable locals: the seemingly frail 75 year old ball-busting star student, the ex-cheerleader housewife always covered in a full face of makeup and the patchouli soaked bartender who lights up a cig immediately following class. Zen Room is lead by owners Lauren and Aaron, along with their free-spirited pal, Clarity. At the heart of the show, is a very genuine group of characters who's love for one another proves to be top priority. All despite the strain of running a business amongst many egos in a world that ironically is a symbol for the egoless.
