War of the Worlds (2019)
Wonderful show
Contrary to what is usually done with a movie or series that is set in different countries, the characters in this one don't all of a sudden all speak English or French. Everyone speaks their own language with some also speaking English. In the version broadcast on FOX in Belgium, the French dialogue was subtitled.
But what is very unfortunate is that the series stops after 8 episodes. Is there a second season in the making?
Genius (2017)
Great series although some problems with chronology
Great series although some problems with chronology Great series that gives a nice overview of Albert Einstein's life and accomplishments. Although sometimes the chronology doesn't seem to be correct. In episode 7 Philipp Lenard is shown in 1919 (announced by between scenes title) to oppose Einstein, first at the Nobel-price committee and later telling his wife that he's just found the right people to help him to get Einstein debunked as a fraud. A newspaper clipping is then shown with a picture of Adolf Hitler. However, Hitler was only appointed leader of the NSDAP in 1920. At that time, the party was only a local Bavarian movement and was not yet known in Prussia (where Lenard resides). Only after the failed putsch in 1923 did the NSDAP become known in other parts of Germany.
Go, Diego, Go! (2005)
Great show!
Our four year old daughter, who is bi-lingual (Dutch and Mandarin Chinese), just loves the show. Last July we purchased the Chinese language versions when we were in China and she can't stop watching the DVD's (before she already watched the Dutch versions on local TV).
Not only is she now improving on her Chinese but she is also learning English! (the Dutch and Chinese versions replace the Spanish text parts in the original show with English).
Go Diego Go! is not only good the learn a little bit of another language, it also teaches the kids something interesting about animals! Regularly we also let her search Youtube to watch parts of other language version so she can get acquainted with more than a few languages.
There should be more shows like this that are educational and have no violence in them!
