Last week, Arrow fans experienced quite the shocker at the end of “Tribute” when Oliver Queen passed the Green Arrow mantle to John Diggle. Basically, Ollie wants to assure that his son, William, has no fear of losing yet another parent. Thus, it only made sense to him that he hang up his bow.
So, even though Diggle has suited up in Oliver’s stead a few times in the past, that doesn’t mean this gargantuan shift didn’t come as any less of a surprise – especially when we’ve been told that this new status quo will remain in place for the time being.

If anything, 2017 is going to have quite the steady stream of DC animated films, with the next one up being Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. Loosely adapting the classic storyline of the same name written by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by George Perez, it’ll see some of the most beloved young heroes in all of comics face their biggest challenges yet, namely Brother Blood and Deathstroke.
While many of us have to wait for a home video release to enjoy the movie, those fortunate enough to attend WonderCon in Anaheim, California in a few weeks will have the opportunity to attend the world premiere. You see, on Friday, March 31 at 6:00pm, a screening will take place in the Arena of the Anaheim Convention Center, complete with panel afterwards. Should you miss out on that, an encore will be shown on Sunday, April 2 (also in the Arena), but with no panel to follow.

Those who aren’t familiar with anything but the cute Teen Titans series are in for quite a surprise as the heroes return to their darker roots in Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, which is one of the most incredible efforts from the comics. The feature-length film is inspired by a story arc from the 1984 DC comic, and has an incredible voice cast backing the supremely gritty arc.
The Blu-Ray Giftset, which includes an exclusive Blue Beetle figurine, will hit on April 18th, with Digital HD release on April 4th.
In The Judas Contract, the Titans – Beast Boy, Raven, Blue Beetle, Robin, and Nightwing – are led by Starfire, but their newest teammate, Terra, is throwing the groups dynamic out of whack, and the team comes up against Brother Blood, an ancient evil, and Deathstroke is waiting in the wings to cause problems as well.

Without a doubt, one of the things that excites me most when it comes to news trickling out of San Diego Comic-Con happens to be when Warner Bros. Animation announces the following year’s slate of DC animated movies. Thankfully, 2017 looks to be a good year on that front, as it will see the release of Batman and Harley Quinn, among two other unexpected entries.
Since 2014, WB Animation has followed a certain model when it comes to releasing these films: Two set in New 52 continuity – one Justice League, one Batman – as well as one out of continuity, standalone flick. For example, this year saw the releases of Batman: Bad Blood, Justice League vs. Teen Titans and Batman: The Killing Joke. Expect 2017 to somewhat honor this pattern, yet break the cycle in a most refreshing way.
The first animated film to hit shelves next year will be that of the recently rumored Justice League Dark.

With San Diego Comic-Con kicking off in just a matter of days, we should all brace ourselves for an onslaught of news that only this time of year can bring. According to Bleeding Cool, they’ve heard some rumblings concerning not only ill-fated fan favorite Constantine, but also characters such as Batwoman and Oracle, which should excite many a fan.
Let’s start off with what I find to be the most intriguing: Batwoman/Kate Kane may have a recurring role this season when Supergirl makes its way to The CW. With Maggie Sawyer joining the show, it makes sense that her ex-girlfriend pop in to National City from time to time. I fully admit that even I would have previously thought the inclusion of a Batman Family character of this magnitude to be impossible, but with Superman putting in a few appearances at the start of Season 2, the door...

Although many of us appreciate mature animated films featuring The Dark Knight such as the recently released Batman: Bad Blood or the upcoming R-rated Batman: The Killing Joke, we must be honest in saying that the character resonates with people of all ages and, therefore, movies appealing to the younger crowd are much needed. On September 13, Batman Unlimited: Mech vs. Mutants aims to fill that void when it arrives on DVD. As of now, no Blu-Ray release date has been given, but we’ll keep you posted.
The Batman Unlimited franchise started as a toy line that saw Batman, along with his heroic cohorts and villains, given somewhat futuristic reinterpretations. From that spawned two animated films, Animal Instincts and Monster Mayhem, along with a web series. While they have produced bizarre scenarios such as Batman riding at robotic T-Rex that shoots lasers (albeit in a virtual world), the series...

Burbank, CA – Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has accepted the MPAA’s “R” rating for its upcoming animated film, Batman: The Killing Joke, choosing to remain true to the landmark DC Comics graphic novel’s violent, controversial story, and making the film the first non-pg/PG-13 rated movie in the nine-year history of the DC Universe Original Movie franchise.
Batman: The Killing Joke, one of the best-selling graphic novels in history, tells the tale of The Joker’s origin story – from his humble beginnings as a struggling comic, to his fateful encounter with Batman that changes both of their lives forever. Actors Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill reprise their Batman: The Animated Series roles as Batman and The Joker, respectively.
Since its inception in 2007, the DC Universe Original Movie franchise has brought classic and current DC Comics stories and characters to animated life through a series of primarily PG-13 rated films.

MTV News caught up with Will Smith at the MTV Movie Awards the other night (a feat that shouldn't have been too difficult, considering, you know, they were hosting it), and they asked the erstwhile Fresh Prince if he was looking forward to reprising his Suicide Squad role of Deadshot in either a solo movie or a Batman movie, and Smith had an interesting answer: he said he wanted Deadshot to actually become Batman.

The past seven days have been absolutely packed with big DC Comics crossovers on film and television. Things kicked off with the highly-anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in theaters, and the crossovers continued with the absolutely charming Supergirl/The Flash team-up on CBS. There was still more to come, though, and the DC Animated Universe got a chance to build itself up even more with Justice League vs. Teen Titans. Set in the same continuity that began in Justice League War and continuing, more or less, from January’s Batman: Bad Blood, Justice League vs. Teen Titans tells the story of Damien Wayne’s Robin, after botching

A few quick updates today on the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"
Carla Gugino, who previously worked with Snyder on "Watchmen" and "Sucker Punch," revealed on Twitter that she lent her voice to a scene in the film. Gugino provided the voice of Kelor, the service robot of the House of El in Snyder's "Man of Steel". Will she be reprising that role in some capacity?
One actor who has also confirmed his involvement in the film, or rather clarified his role, is Robin Atkin Downes. The talented voice actor, who lent his voice to villains in "Batman: Bad Blood" and is 'The Master' in FX's "The Strain," has confirmed on Twitter that he was: "very proud to release that I helped bring #Doomsday to life in the upcoming @BatmanvSuperman #Dreamgigs". The newly integrated DC Animated Universe expands with its latest offering, Batman: Bad Blood. While Batman (Jason O’Mara) can work best as a loner, he casts a long enough shadow that somehow involves others to take up the mantle of the Bat. We’ve seen Nightwing (Sean Maher), the former first Robin, and the addition of Bruce Wayne’s son Damian (Stuart Allan) as the new Robin has added an edge.
The new animated film, out now from Warner Home Entertainment, has been sold as the major introduction of Batwoman (Yvonne Strahovski) but we also get Batwing (Gaius Charles) and at the end a cameo from Batgirl. As a result, it’s actually beginning to feel a little too busy with so many players there’s not enough time to properly service them.
The premise here has Talia (Morena Baccarin) recruiting a bunch of disparate rogues to help her break Batman.

Watch Nightwing dressed up as Batman team up with Batwoman to battle off a horde of Nunjas (Ninja Nuns) in one of two new clips that have been released for DC Entertainment’s animated film Batman: Bad Blood. Since the mid-2000s, DC Entertainment has been absolutely killing it in film animation. Contrasting the more kid-friendly cartoon series that the company has produced since the conclusion of its highly popular DC Animated Universe, the animated films have, mostly, taken on a much darker tone that have allowed for the exploration of more adult storylines and content than television would allow. These films, dubbed “DC Universe Animated Original Movies,” stood outside of any established continuity from the outset, and no two films were connected in any real way. That all changed with the 2014 release of Justice League: War, which, after

So last night I got the chance to attend the world premiere of Batman: Bad Blood. It was overall a great film; DC is really winning at animated movies. Additionally, this was the first time that Batwoman and Batwing were featured in a DC animated film.
I praise the filmmakers for handling both race and sexual orientation with dignity and respect. At no time during the film did I ever feel that they abused the characters or use their diversity to define them. I really mean that; they handled sexual orientation and race great. Do you see the “but” coming up ahead yet?
The thing I’m going to be miffed at is the female issue. The cast had four named female characters. The first one was our heroine, Batwoman. The second and third were the villains, Onyx and Talia Al Ghul. The fourth was a Wayne Enterprises board member...

Fans of the DC Universe direct-to-video animated movies should be thrilled to hear that the voice cast has been officially announced for 2016’s second release, Justice League vs. Teen Titans. Featuring a staggering amount of DC’s finest heroes from varying generations, we can only assume this movie will deliver much excitement and fan service.
The Teen Titans lineup itself will be composed of Robin/Damian Wayne (Stuart Allan), Nightwing (Sean Maher), Starfire (Kari Wahlgren), Blue Beetle (Jake T. Austin), Beast Boy (Brandon Soo Hoo), Raven (Taissa Farmiga), and the most interesting addition, Cyborg (Shemar Moore). Sure, Cyborg is historically known to be in the Teen Titans, but has been aligned with the Justice League in various forms of media since 2011. So, it should definitely be interesting to see what series of events force him to switch his allegiance.
As for the Justice League, expect the following characters to return:...

Warner Bros. Animation has produced many incredible animated Batman films over the past 25 years, and their next offering, Batman: Bad Blood, looks to continue that proud tradition.
With the film’s home video release just weeks away, WB has treated fans to yet another clip. In it, we see Nightwing/Dick Grayson (voiced by Sean Maher) engage in a well choreographed battle with the hulking villain known as Blockbuster. While the two engage in a brutal round of fisticuffs, the filmmakers provide some levity to the situation as Nightwing attempts to have a conversation with his girlfriend, Starfire (voiced by Kari Wahlgren). It sounds like she yearns for his company, to put it lightly. Their conversation is cut short by Alfred, who alerts the young hero of a most dire emergency. Perhaps this is when they discover Batman has gone missing.

We’ve got two clips for you to watch from Warner Bros. Animation’s upcoming animated film Batman: Bad Blood. The first clip is called “Dates,” and it’s an action sequence that features Nightwing fighting the villain Blockbuster. The second clip is called “Gone,” and it shows us a conversation Nightwing and Alfred have about Batman’s disappearance.
When Batman goes missing, it will take the entire Bat “family” – including new additions Batwoman and Batwing – to keep the peace in Gotham City and unravel the mystery behind the Dark Knight’s disappearance in Batman: Bad Blood.
This movie was inspired by a few different Batman stories including Batman: R.I.P., Batman & Robin, and Batman Inc. It's also a follow-up to the previous animated films Son of Batman and Batman vs. Robin. If you liked those two movies, then you're sure to enjoy this one.

Though we got an extended three-minute trailer back around Comic Con time in July, fans of the franchises are awaiting the arrival of another trailer ahead of the film's release in March.
Today, producer Charles Roven has spoken Collider and says we'll see new footage soon:
"Honestly, you're going to be seeing something very soon. I don't know how you define soon but certainly before the end of the year, how about that?"
Roven confirms the film has a massive 1,500 VFX shots which are still being tweaked. Also being worked on is the theatrical cut's length with Roven suggesting that not only is the film running long, but we may get an extended cut some day:
"I don't know if you'll ever get the 4-hour version, but there may be something that's coming along that might be slightly less long than that."

The various direct-to-video DC animated movies of recent years have generally been getting darker and more adult, opting to keep the gritty and violent elements of the comic stories upon which they are based. Even so, most of them have been able to maintain a PG-13 rating.
